HEY!!! I noticed that when the guy was customizing his vehicle, the background music sounded like it came from the nfs HS showcase soundtrack!
I see we got a bit of classic NFS menus. Looks ok, but the gameplay looks too similar to MW.
ricing bodykits and viniys big deal
I raised my eyebrows when the guy added the bodykit and said "looks cool". Typical of EA, once again. Otherwise, I love the look of the paint system and the sideways flow of the menus.
The EA Trax pop up is blured, so we can't see. But, AWSOME GRAPHICS!!!
shaunawyong - I also noticed right away - HS music. (LOL)
I don't think that means they're re-using it in the game.
At least the menus look easier to use.
peh
Nothing really special, it`s good that the menus seem easy, but ow well. I didnt notice the music..
This man has been corrupted by the code of the rice; it became apparent the moment he said "let's start off with the visuals". He was all about those visuals and how "cool" his car looks. I wanna see even a little bit of the performance tuning please.
Any ideas what the 'multiple' paint type is? Was it already present in ProStreet? (I'm only familiar w/ the selection that Carbon had to offer.)
I think he meant it as painting parts of the car differently, like spoiler, left door, right door, hood, bumper. It was present in NFS PS.
i want neons and performance kits !! oh well at least the menus and graphics look nice.
Well, atleast looks far easier to use than those damn menus from Pro Street.
The only thing that really got my attention was the background music... I so wish that they brought back that style to their games.
The graphics looks pretty good, the customization looks ok. What I hated was the fact that they kept showing the azn guy's face all the time instead of showing the damn game. Apparently that's part of their marketing techniques. "Hey look! a cool azn guy! he plays our game! so should you!". haha
The other marketing technique I noticed was the NFS High Stakes song from the showcase menus. Probably one of the best songs in that game, gave it a sense of coolness and neatness. They apparently thought that'd suddenly give the same feeling to this game....
I don't really understand, how much effort does it take to put a few of the features of a 10 year old game into a modern game. Put a ****ing dashboard in there and a simple presentation of each car. I swear if NFS community could hire the coders at EA, we'd make a much better game using our own modelers.
@ Myojinoir: Thanks, that makes sense.
@ GTR: Or maybe EA should hire some of the community members for the brainstorming sessions? The modelling itself isn't such a problem - they are using 3D scanners nowadays & have the mesh ready to work w/ in no time. Anyway, I agree w/ most of what you said - perhaps we could continue the (nearly started) discussion in the 'future concepts' thread? :-)
Ea has just been lazy with their interior shots, maybe they should decide if they want to have what the designed in NFS:PU that was the last game that it was in. and that was early 2001.
the only thing with interior shots is they slow down the graphics card and you end up with a horrible frame rate. Codemasters did an excellent job with GRID.
was that callista from NFSHS, or am i dreaming. of course, it may just be embedded into the video, not the game. i guess we wont know till NOV 18th... but i like it.
the game there looked a bit too NFSU and NFSU2 and NFSMW ish. need to go back FARTHER to HS/hp2 era
Actually, the theme was "Photon Rez".

The customization is great for consoles where you press up and down to select something but will be a PITA for PC users with a mouse. Sorry.
Good to see I'm not the only one who's ears perked when the music started, heh.
I think it was just added in by the video editors from GT, as a nice touch.
were ment to be watching NFSUc customisation not asian pplz talking about, lousy ea...................
Ye its true... lot of vinals stuff. which is cool.. if u had a big garage u would also rice them up!
Thing is the only real break thru's in performace have been home garage mechanics and performace tunin specialists.. like the jet powered bug and the worlds fastest street legal car.. etc..but they could have added that in somewhere..
Another thing I would love to see is actual HP and torque ratings and downforce ratings... etc
First thing I noticed as well is the NFS HS music (Photon Rez - mind you, but I was listening to that yesterday ;-) ).
Anyways, menus look much better and simpler than Pro Street and some of the more recent NFSs (though RM is right about PC users having a problem with using a mouse in the menus). I like the color picker though - finally they brought it back from NFS HS and PU. The car menu could use a little bit of light, though.
So far it looks ok. Let's wait for some gameplay trailers and see how it does there.
They did a good job.
I've Got a really good tip for EA Don't spend all your time on the Xbox and PS3 Version to make a totally mest up version for all the other consoles!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vZDcqC5y9s&feature=channel watch this
Cool Video But this version of the game is for Xbox 360 And PS3 I don't think the other versions are that good Maybe PC but the other version'si don't think so.
prostreet for wii hasn't got Damage they Ask 50 euros so it has to be a good game i thought but no i don't know if it's with all wii versions but my version only got 15 cars
Wy don't They write That on the cover?
as strange as it was to read your comment, ferrarispykergek, you got a point there:
i just posted in another topic about different "versions" of games, the ps3, xbox 360 and pc versions are comonly the same, the wii version, being technically and programming wise, in another "universe" has to be translated and converted, changed and raped, along with the handhelds, so technically the wii is a handheld, lol. they put out the game for a standard price, wich is quite high, talking about EA games like NFS. sowhen the game is converted and they made it function on the wii, and they knew the wii cannot do this and that, and had to change stuff, they just put it out at a standard game price, without caring about it being a real wii game or only a conversion.
thats quite the same as playing games on the pc that is availible for consoles too and you notice the controls are totally set up to work on a console, and they didnt change it.
its just a convert.
considering the workflow of ea, id say the real game version is either the xbox 360 or the ps3 version, most likely the xbox version. the rest is just "lets make it work on that"
- Rick.
i have to say that the only reason i like need for speed undercover is for the car chases and the classic and new american muscle cars like the ford Mustang GT the 1967 camaro SS the 1970 chevelle SS 454 and the new Dodge Challenger and the car chases like the ones from most wanted
Hmm looks promising..
Ftw Photon Res playing in the background hahaha, High Stakes ftw.
Customization looks pretty interesting and rather simple tbh. Gameplay looks definitely like MW since developers said that game will return to its 'roots' of illegal street racing and cop chases. Also hud is barely modified and still resembles Carbon's.
Anyone noticed that Speedbreaker is back?
Old NFS song is old
