The Need for Speed SHIFT PC demo is now available!
The demo features two tracks: London River and the world-famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and four cars: Dodge Viper, Lotus Elise, BMW M3 and Nissan GT-R.
If you’re good enough and can collect all ten stars from the demo and unlock the Pagani Zonda F. Stay tuned for further news about the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 demos.

Dowloaded off of needforspeed.com, then installed it, then ran it, and it won't open. I get that common error message. Then I click Don't Send. I tried three times, and got the same result. My computer meets the requirements. . . and I have enough space in the hard drive. So now I changed my mind about shift, and that thread about the nfs shift bugs. . . not sure about spending $50 US for that game now.
The demo works fine on my PC and i barely meet the specs. All i can say is that the problem seems to be on your end. Have you updated your drivers?

Yep they did it. EA has finally made a worthy NFS, possibly topping MW. SHIFT, you have become worthy of my purchase.

Nope.. Shift will kill your graphic card. But if you want to, you can TRY.
yeah, I'm struggling with my 8600gt, which is a rather fine card, but i can't run the game on fullscreen without some lag. You might be able to run it, but with on the very lowest setup, and that's not fun.
Considering the rather high min specs, the game looks like absolute shit on lowest possible detail level and it's quite safe to say that lowest settings look a lot worse than NFS2.
Boring Boring.Ea wasted alot of time and money agin on a crapy game . Thy put out a demo and thats all people will play the demo .The graphic are way to high for people that have a low grade computer .Don't waste your money on this game !!!
So basically you don't like the game because your computer does not meet the min specifications to run it? I guess we should never make innovations or advances in computer graphics! Also it might be boring to you but to others like myself it is alot of fun.
