What about the keyboard steering overkill car response?
It really kills the whole driving experience and not everyone wants to buy a steering wheel or gamepad just to play Shift.
Just activate stability control and traction control., I tried to be brave and play without but it's obsolete...I mean it slips like s##t
Even on a xbox360 gamepad I found the control super touchy, I was starting to dislike it a lot. I ended up finally changing the steering sensitivity from the default 25% to 100% and the deadzone from 33% to 45%. the difference is night and day, the steering isn't anywhere near as jerky as before and I'm having a ton of fun with it. Maybe the sensitivity might help steering with the keyboard?
That won't help, the controls for keyboard are overkilled sensitive. It's weird, but it quite destroys fun of the game, also by making it close to impossible to do a clean race etc., and get all those Corner Master Checks.
I've completed all corners to master in a lot of tracks..I play with keyboard too..so there's no problem with what you guys talk about...it's simply a matter of skill to control your ride...and also each car has it's own kind of handling...if you practice you'll get better..otherwise blame the controls and my advice...play other game like undercover, which is very arcadey btw, doesn't even come close to real simulation...and shift may not be as real life as gt5 but it's better than all previous need for speed games put all togheter
i've installed it
but...
no mouse support help plz ;)
NFS U2 is the best NFS game with his simple steering, racing variety, cars, free roaming and tuning capabilitys
^
-1 nah NFS MW and NFS C are better
sadly you have no idea what NFS really is.
Sorrysoldout: that you so much, car handles alot easier now, especially in drifts...wich is suck in anyways ;)
Mikes right, everyone knows the Underground series HAS TO BE HATED if you like NFS, oh and Antzu...youre absolutely Right!
xbox version badly needs a patch, crashed on me twice and theres a stage 3 race with a corvette where the car does not react to controller input...i already informed ea about that.
anyone else got bugs i should tell ea about?
I had in many races done, BLACK skies...I don't know why it happens but that's a glitch for sure...anyone else has this?
I just recalled something that EA suggested for ProStreet regarding overkill keyboard steering and mad car oversteering - key pressing repeat rate. Might be worth to give it a try with Shift as well.
I had the same problem with the overkill on the keyboard. Even with a 512 MB graphic card with it all max out after the first race it was like trying to drive a tugboat.
Try dropping your resolution a little. I took mine from 1920 x 1200 down to about 1300 x 900, still with all the car shadows and effect max out and it drives like a dream. Makes driving the CCX and the Veyron so much easier and more fun. But don't drop it to far it makes SHIFT crash for some unknown reason.
Lol overkill...u mean lag because at high details&resolution the only thing ocurring if u have low perf GPU..is low FPS and Lagging
If you're lagging on your computer, you need to get a new video card and/or upgrade your computer.
If you're playing racing games with a keyboard on your computer, you should get a controller. If you don't want one, then you deserve the pain. The world is not digital like a keyboard is. Steering wheels aren't supposed to go 100% left or right. There's a middle ground and that's why analog will always be better for this type of situation.
Agreed
SHIFT is a little bit more graphically based then GRID, but with GRID, I can run it full up with the graphics. I do understand that the graphics have gotten alot better since GRID was released. So yeah, playing it on a keyboard is not the way your supposed to do it, but I don't really spend as much time gaming as I used to so it's not warranted.
I just figured that the patch might fixes the other problems as well... Like crashing for no reason...
I honestly don't think you need to upgrade a 9 month old Mac Pro.
this work??? because i try to install the patch to nfsuc but those not found sorry for my english jeje xD
Wha?
