El Barto Simpson, webmaster of NFS Streetdogs (http://www.nfssd.de), notified me that there are 15 new screenshots on the official NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 website.

The amount of virus-emails I have been getting is getting way out of control. All of these mails come from NFSCars visitors, as they arrive at several addresses I use only on this site. On an average day I get about 30 - 35 mails containing mostly the virus 1.W32/Klez.h@MM, which is considered to be the most aggressive email virus ever!
The virus opens itself in your email client and if you dont have an up-to-date virusscanner, your PC will get infected without you knowing about it and it will send itself to a lot of people (if not all) in your address book.
I ask EVERYONE to do at least a system scan (a free virusscan can be done at http://housecall.antivirus.com), but I would prefer if everyone would use a good, up-to-date virusscanner on their PC with at least email scanning activated.
More information regarging email@example.com can be found at Symantec, producer of Norton Antivirus, which is widely considered as one of the best antivirus programs.
Most antivirus programs will be good enough though, AS LONG AS THEY ARE UP-TO-DATE!
Dont think that this wont happen to you! It can happen to everyone, even unnoticed! Even a virus protection program is not perfect, so always watch out with email attachments!!!
Many of you noticed the problems NFSCars had the entire last week up until today. This was caused by a dublicate DNS record for site.nfscars.com (one right, one wrong), which caused it to sometimes point to the right place and sometimes to the wrong, causing 404 Page not found errors and the brfreq.com placeholder pages.
This has been solved now, within 24 hours everything should work perfectly again!
Sorry about the inconvenience, we (me and my host) could do nothing about it, the error was made by PHPWebhosting, the people who manage my domain (nfscars.com) and makes sure it all points to the right place.
Since the change of last weekend to the server weve had several problems with NFSCars. One of the problems was a non-working upload script, which was due to a weird setting on the server that didnt let himself change very easily.
Mike (my host) has found the solution and the script should be working now :)
So start uploading those cars again and get this site going again!!!
As for the problem with the subdomain sometimes pointing to a Plesk Server Admin page, this should be solved within a few days, else I am going to find out why its taking so long.
Many have noticed that NFSCars had been down for over 3 days. The reason for this was a change on the server, the site is moved to a different directory and an new admin system for managing sites has been implemented.
Unfortunately we had to wait until TechSupport came back from their weekend and updated the DNS settings for site.nfscars.com before the site was accessable again…
There are some errors here and there, I know of it, but I wont be able to fix it for at least another 12 hours as I have to go to work.
If you see an error, let me know by posting it here or in the NFSCars Bugreports & Suggestions forum on the messageboard.
I know of the error with the uploadscripts though.
Today NFSCars passed the huge amount of 2000 cars!!! This is one of the biggest milestones NFSCars has ever reached, and were very happy with it!
Id like to thank all the car creators for supplying NFSCars with lots of cars - especially over the last few months cars are added on a daily basis! Thank you car creators!
Offcourse I would also like to thank everyone else who made this possible, namely the site admins (current ones as well as previous ones), my current host (thanks Mike & Justin!), GameSpy/SportPlanet (for hosting me for almost 2 years!) and offcourse all of you visitors!!! Without the huge amounts of visitors coming to NFSCars each day (5000 unique visitors a day, over 80.000 pageviews a day!), this site would have died a long time ago!
Offcourse 2000 is not the limit - well keep working on the site as long as we can and as long as people keep visiting and cars are being uploaded! Keep those cars coming!

SITE ADMIN AT NFSCARS.COM
We changed http://nfscars.bmw-alberta.com to http://site.nfscars.com as URL for NFSCars, as this looks much nicer. The reason why we are not using www.nfscars.com is that this URL is hosted elsewhere and will stay there. You are adviced to use www.nfscars.com as it will always get on NFSCars.com or will dispay an nice errorpage with links to other NFS sites when the site is down.
Just so you know :D
