Description

Finally after 2 years(maybe more) it is done.

Made from scrach in CarCad. Only wheels made in Zmod.

No dash, sorry; engine sound is from EAs Slk and performance a bit slower than Slk.

Enjoy ;)

Vaz, or Lada, as it was known here, is a Russian car company. It used to be.. I think. I know they sold then in Canada. My highschool principal had one (Lada Niva). And yeah, nice car. I remember when you started making it (and reading that topic)

:D Thanx. It supposed to be for NFS Lada Mode where we wanted with couple of guys (Ypsylon - Vaz 2101, Demmo - Lada Niva) put russian or east block countries cars(polands, czech, russian, yugoslavian etc), add tracks to suit the mode and low poly traffic with old russian buses, trucks, cars (wich still are driven in Russia) - wich was sadly cancelled later cause noone had too much time for it.

About sales in US - dont know, they were exported to many countries. Btw this cars desighn was a riped copy of fiat :P

Hmm. Its not so neccesary for you to do all that if you have no time. I could do that myself, probably. I have some ideas... But, of course, I need your permission, agreement and maybe some help. What do you think about it?

Well, thats OK. And will it have Czech Police skin? I can hardly imagine VAZ 2106 as a Czech police car :-) May be in museum, but not on the road. Though in Russia its an ordinary case. And this very car would look nice in UVO bodypaint (UVO — Upravlenie Vnevedomstvennoi Okhrany, can be translated smth like Non-Departamental Guard Management ). Its a special militia force that protects objects, escorts precious cargos and sometimes pursuits suspects. Its autopark consists mostly of VAZ 2106.
By the way VAZ 2106 price is not few bucks. According to Russian automobile magazine At The Steering Wheel(www.zr.ru, temporary offline), the lowest price for a new car made in Syzran is about $2400 — in Russia. It may be not a great sum of money for Czech driver, but its big enough for Russian. Though its low, of course, if compared with prices for modern cars made in Europe, Asia and USA...

Ne za chto. Odna golova — khorosho, a dve — uzhe nestandart... :-)

LOL

I ment few bucks for used old one. You can findem here for 50-200usd in bad condition ofcourse, pieces in good condition are for 500-700usd.
I cant beleave they still produce them  Its prehistoric technology!!
I was thinking of standart NFS skins cause its almost impossible to find police skins of other countries, in Czech those cars was in use of police 15 years ago. I tryed to search for different skins while ago and nothing :(

50-200usd? So CHEAP!!? Its impossible! In Russia the lowest price is $500-600. $100-200 costs car which cannot move itself. May be its time to go to Czech? :-) Oh, no, Ill have to pay more then $1000 tax at the customs: its too old... :-(
I cant beleave they still produce them  Its prehistoric technology!!
You can beleive me — they are still in status of production. And more — many people buy them! There are a lot of them on Saint-Petersburg streets. It is prehistoric technology, of course, but its cheap and thats why its popular. As far as I know more popular car in Russia is only VAZ 2105 — next generation of VAZ. Also still in production.
Standard NFS skins? You mean American black&white colours? Oh, it will be very funny and absolutely unrealistic. :-) You say its almost impossible to find police skins of other countries? I willingly beleive that as Ive also searched for Russian police skins and some Logos. All my efforts to find Logo of St.-Petersburg GIBDD department (Russian Highway Patrol Service) which is painted on every car were in vain. I hardly found UVO logo on their official site. Its much easier to find Italian police skins then Russian. So the best way to make 100% correct skin for Russian pursuit car is to see it with your own eyes.
I suppose that it would be really interesting for people abroad to see how do REAL Modern Russian cars look, wouldnt it? And I also would like to have in NFS realistically-looking car — the same as those on the streets.

Hehe.. this car was released BEFORE i have bought Lada Samara(2108) :D
Even when I still love the looks of 2106, I prefer Samara over it cause its a bit more safe and technologically a bit more modern.
Started working on Samara for NFS some time ago, I just can say hope it will be finished :/ Btw you can find thread about it here in forum in Editing projects if I am not wrong ;)

Grrreat!! Ive seen your post, its looking VERY nice!
If you release it for NFS 4, Ill definitely buy another old PC to run it under Win 98!
Feel like missing that old but good stuff....

And I still think of the pursuit versions ;) ....

Thank you!
