Description

This soundpack is a replacement for the American siren tones in Need For Speed High Stakes. They are the tones from a Federal Signal(C) Smart Siren(TM) system. They include the basic wail and yelp tones, as well as priority (piecer) and air horn tones.

Looks good :)

but how do you use the different tones? (switch between air horn, priority, yelp, etc.)

There is no actual way to switch between them. The way NFS4 is set up by default is there is one file for the default wail tone, and another file for the yelp. What I did is overwrote the wail file, and then overwrote the yelp with my file containing the yelp, piercer, and air horn. Unfortunately there is no other way to do it.

One more thing I want to add just as a warning is that I originally tested this on an unmodified copy of NFS4. I noticed as I began customizing it and adding more cars, certain ones would not work. (Mainly on the European tracks.) I’m not sure at this point why that is, but I’m working on it. If I can correct it, I will most likely release an update to this download.
