Don't know if if has been posted yet... but there's going to be classic muscle in Carbon.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/driving/needforspeedcarbon/screenindex.html

Look at the third picture under "added on july 7, 2006"..There is a 60s camaro.

Also.. what muscle cars do you want in Carbon?

It's pretty old news, but thanks for the link. Anyways, I want these muscle cars:
'69 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
'68 Dodge Charger
'81 Camaro Z28
'68 Pontiac GTO
I don't know too many muscles but these are my top favorites ;).

Here's my list:

'69 Camaro Z28= 144 mph
'70 Chevelle SS454= 163 mph
'69 Charger R/T= 155 mph
'70 GTO H.O. 455=159 mph
'79 Corvette= 154 mph
'69 Road Runner= 137 mph
'87 Camaro IROC-Z= 149 mph
'69 Mustang GT500=151 mph
'69 Corvette 427= 168 mph

I just threw in the numbers for possible top speeds should they be included in the game.

you're so wrong. at what point did you not grasp that muscle cars are geared for acceleration, not top speed?

the most accurate car in your bs list is the IROC-Z, I guess 149 is ONLY just 4 mph off from 145.

I seriously hope you don't expect those top speeds to come from a stock car, except maybe the Camaro... if it's going downhill

the most accurate car in your bs list is the IROC-Z, I guess 149 is ONLY just 4 mph off from 145.

They didn't have to be accurate, you know.

But a '69 427ci Corvette could do 160 with the right transmission.
The Corvette, as far I know, is a middleweight sports car, not a heavyweight muscle car like the Charger or Chevelle.

And besides, not all of their transmissions are purely for acceleration, right?

'Cause I think everyone knows that the shorter-geared transmissions for most of 'em were made almost exclusively for drag racers{or at least, they were popular with them}.

After all, drag racing was popular back then, am I right?

Now, back on topic....

I just added 2 more cars to my list.

'79 Camaro Z28
'77 Trans Am= 149 mph

I hope that they don't make them too hard to unlock; that would suck!

69 Charger Daytona (fastest Muscle Car ever)
67 Shelby Cobra 427
70 Dodge Charger 440 R/T (with HEMI upgrade)
73 Dodge Challenger HEMI R/T
69 Chevrolet Camaro (already shown)
07 Shelby Mustang G.T. 500 (when it comes out)
73 Dodge Charger Superbee
99 Dodge Viper GTS
05 Ford GT or 67 GT40 (either one)
06 Chevy Corvette Z06
71 Plymouth Barracuda with the HEMI shaker hood (Cuda for people who don't know the whole name)
74 Ford Torino 429
72 429 Ford Ranchero GT
and
71 Ford Mustang Mach 1

All of them are ricer stompers. The Ranchero GT is the sleeper of the group. No one would expect a cruck (as I call them Car+Truck=Cruck) to stomp them.:D

*sigh* for ****'s sake Stevus1977. Yes, drag racing was popular back then, so they (the sports cars/muscle cars) were geared shorter, so they accelerated faster for the drag racing. It's common sense, all you do in drag is accelerate. you act like acceleration isn't important

I couldn't find an exact official top speed for a '77 Firebird T/A on short notice, but this article mentions a genuine 123 mph for the 1978 model, which seems a lot more reasonable. http://www.2gta.com/1978ta.html
149 miles seems unrealistic, considering that in those days, a Ferrari 308 GTB or a Porsche 911 Turbo could just about reach 155 mph. If that. :|

On-topic: I hadn't noticed the old Camaro until now. My interest in Carbon just went up a notch. :)

i wonder where they heard that one?

Speed911

I seriously doubt that, i don't think EA would spend that much time to get licenses from all of those manufactures for the make and model name, not to mention there will be tuning and police chases

yes ,that's what i was thinking about...maybe just a mistake in the article...instead of 200 maybe they wanted to say 20 ??

I noticed an ad for NFS10 and NFS10SE, so two versions (again) will be sold. Is there any info on extra cars and options in the special edition, or is it just like the 10th anniversery for NFS with a special box? The SE is $10 more.

funny guy

If it's $10 more, it's probably more than a cool box.

Oh wow... Looks like EA's going to that system again; Start selling the new one, and few months later send out a Special Edition of it? Thats the same thing with Rockstar Games' Midnight Club 3 Remix; although in this case the Remix does 0wn the 'stock' one. I'm not sure if tehy're will be too much difference between this 'stock' and 'SE' one, as it was with the Black Edition of MW.

And let's hope it will do a realistic 145 mph instead of the arcade top end of ~120 mph in GT4.

What about the Ferrari Daytona?
That is a pretty cool car.
Oh, and don't forget the Lamborghini Countach/Miura.

Just to clear up any confusion with the dodge challengers...(germanauto93 and demoman_chaos)
-Challengers where around from `70 to 74
-Challengers had HEMIs only in `70 and `71, not in 1973.In 1973 the most potent engine was the 340 fourbarrel

I agree with Zpectre,I wouldn't mind driving a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, but NFS carbon is too "ricey" for european classics

STFU. We should be hoping that they DON'T come so that we won't have to see more exotics in stupid bodykits.

Well, we're living in the middle of a great American muscle car revival...

2008 Dodge Challenger, 6.1L HEMI 425hp (possibly a larger HEMI will debut)
new Shelby Mustang GT500, with 500hp
Corvette Z06 with 7.0L (427 cu. in.) V8 and 505 hp.
2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 with 8.3L V10 and 510hp
2008 Dodge Viper with 8.4L V10 and...possibly 600-700hp. (will be shown at VOI this month)
Chevy Camaro SS coming out soon...wouldn't be surprised if it gets the 'Vette engine.
Dodge Charger SRT-8 with 425hp HEMI.
Pontiac GTO (discontinued now, I think) with 'vette engine
Chrysler 300C SRT-8 with 425hp HEMI.
Cadillac CTS-v with 'vette engine...500hp? used to be 400.
------------------------------
Being a MoPar fan, some of my favorites are

1968, 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
1970, 1971 Challengers
1970 Plymouth Barracuda
1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird (created for NASCAR but sold to the public because of NASCAR rules...only 2,000 were built.)

I also am fond of the Firebird...the most powerful Trans Am had 500hp...and the front wheel drive Oldsmobile Toronado. I also like the AMC Matador and Javelin, while we're at it. And of course the original Mustang is a classic.

I don't like it very much. It drifts alot in MNC3 and loses control very easily. But some of the body upgrades are cool.
