how many people out there can tell me out of all the cars in the past years what is the best car and why ?
i think that the best car is the bmw z8 from need for speed 6
the handling and great looks was the best.
not bad for a b class car

Without a doubt, the best car ever in the Need for Speed series was the NFS Warrior PTO E/2 from the original game. I would take it to the City track, with the first stage and it's insanely long straights, up to 263 miles per hour before braking for the curve. Twin jet engines, four wheel drive. Obviously not a real car, but, for speed and handling, it's the best in the series. I wasn't much for the purple/silver two-tone paintjob, though. Remember, The Need for Speed I didn't allow changing of colors on cars. It also had the best showcases, and information, done by Road & Track. Why can't the future versions be like that?

As for real cars, my personal favorite was the Ford GT90 from Need for Speed II. V-8 with Quad turbos, quad exhaust, top speed above 230 miles per hour, four-wheel drive, blue-tinted glass canopy. What's not to love?

I was a fan of the NFS6 VX220 and Elise, they are cool cars. I also liked the NFS3 550 Maranello and Diablo SV.

The F50 from NFS4 was always my favorite original ride when playing. Of course not long after I started playing NFS4 I moved on to Thomas Egelkraut and Ryuji Kainoh's addon cars. Man that was back in the day.

Back in the good old days, NFS had one of the greatest cars selection.

Picking a favourite would be VERY difficult for me.

... I'm thinking of... the McLaren F1, Diablo SV, 355 Spider and the 911 Turbo.

jed29
11-22-2006, 05:03 PM
they were all good cars and everyone loved to drive them
but i still loved the BMW z3 and z8

The McLaren F1 LM, no doubt. And the Murcielago in NFS6.

I'd have to say, out of the old games, the HSV GTS in NFS4 & the HSV Coupe GTS in NFS 6. But that's what yoyu expect from an aussie who loves his Holden's :D

The Countach in NFS3, EA hasn't put a Countach in any NFS since.

jed29

yes i havent seen any either, maybe thats a test car to see if anyone was interested in it and maybe it wasnt that good. who knows
i liked it too

Well since the Diablo came out, countach was bumped, then came murcielago, so Diablo was bumped, then they just added gallardo in with the murcie. But i really would have loved a Miura in NFS, any NFS, mostly Carbon or NFS 6

The good ol' NFS4 days..... that was a time...

I loved to drive the BMW M5 in Kindiak Park with the Patrol SUVs behind my neck.
Or the Jaguar XKR in Dolphin Cove against Chevy Caprice Cops.

But the best car is still the El Nino/La Nina

jed29
12-08-2006, 06:45 PM
thats right and you don't get to see that car anymore
i loved the corvette in nfs 4 it wasnt much but it was a great car to drive and also the m5 was a great car to drive though the snow too

The Corvette was a thrill to drive, not to mention the 360 spider, I loved to use them on the jumps of the Desert courses.

NFS 5:
Porsche 935 Moby Dick
Porsche 911 Carrera RS
Porsche 550 Spyder
Porsche 356 Carrera 2
Porsche 930 1978

Nfs 4:
Porsche 911 Turbo
Mercedes SLK
Ferrari Maranello

I found it very hard to believe no one has previously mentioned the Moby Dick. That car was a rocket that cornered like it was glued to the track. Nothing performs like a Porsche race car, especially a legend like the 935. Everyone talks about how exotic the La Nina was or whatever, but frankly it can't hold a cent to the 935. Those Porsche race cars were workhorses in the late 70s and early 1980s and became racing legends.

What can I say about the RS, it's the greatest street 911 ever built. People take expensive vintage 911s and even chop them up to make it look like they have an RS. You know you've built a good car when people take other expensive cars and chop it up just to imitate yours... NFS 5 made it a wonderful machine to drive in game.

The 550 was another class act, but the 356 B Carrera 2 was the most fun in a stock NFS car I've ever had.

In NFS 4 the Porsche 911 was a nice driver (though much weaker than the NFS 5 versions), the Mercedes SLK was very fun to drive and nimble, and the Ferrari Maranello was a great all-around racing car.

Ricochet

True. But it has bad control on the turns, I think, because of the weight of the rear, it oversteers too much.

in the end of the day it is choice and respect of the cars and games you play
i love the corvette in nfs 3 and 4

NFS1 - Ferrari 512TR [LOL, I was 7 when I played this]
NFS2 - Ford Indigo
NFS3-5 - [Never got the chance to play]
NFS6 - Opel Speedster
NFS7 - Mazda rx-7
NFS8 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII
NFS9 - Lexus IS300
NFS10 - Nissan 240sx

I really choose my choice from Carbon; the 240sx. It may lack top speed, but it never disappointed me.

TNFS - Never played enough too remember any of the cars except Supra and NSX
NFS 2 - 1999 Ford GT90 Concept
NFS HP - 1999 HSV VT GTS
NFS HS - 1999 HSV VT GTS
NFS PU - 1998 Porsche 911 GT1
NFS HP2 - 2002 HSV Coupe' GTS
NFS U - 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R
NFS U2 - 2004 Hummer H2/1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R
NFS MW - 2005 Vauxhall Monaro VXR
NFS C - 2006 Porsche 997 911 Turbo/2007 Shelby GT500/2006 Vauxhall Monaro VXR

NFSC cars were so hard to choose, so i choose the 3 best, U2 was hard too so i choose both, since they were the only 2 cars i really liked and wanted. Even though the hummer was slow, i always liked it for it's styling and hugness, i never put bodykits on it except the first one with the huge bullbars. Made it more manly.

jed29
12-10-2006, 07:17 PM
i loved ug2 because you had the big 4wd in it and thats the only nfs game that had them
the hummer was great for smashing into cars very solid car
the nissan skyline r34 was a good car but it had to much power and it was hard to keep on the road at times even in underground it wasd just to quick
i like the m-5 and the 206 it was cool and the lancer was cool to get around in too.

Amen! :D

My picks:
NFS HP: Jaguar XJR-15
NFS HS: Ferrari F50
NFS PU: 944 Turbo S
(Didn't play HP2 enough to be able to pick a car I like)
NFS U: Supra, 350Z
NFS U2: Supra again
NFS MW: Carrera GT, STi, RX-8, Viper

jed29
12-11-2006, 07:38 AM
love the viper and rx-8 carrera gt is a good car but not so good on the corners
lancer and sti is good on the corners and for getting away from the cops

Ok just to make it clear, here's mine:
NFS1: Acura NSX
NFS2: FZR 2000, Bomber BFS
NFS3: Lamborghini Diablo SV
NFS4: Ferrari F50
NFS5: "935" Moby Dick, '00 911 Turbo
NFS6: Carrera GT, Murcielago, F1 LM
NFS7: none, but if I chose one, it would be the Skyline GTR
NFS8: " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " Lancer EVO VIII
NFS9: M3 GTR, 911 GT2, C6R, Corvette Z06, SLR McLaren, GT
NFSX: LP640, GT500 (if it is there), Charger ('06 and '69), EVO IX.

jed29
12-11-2006, 05:29 PM

TNFS - Too little play time to choose.
NFS 2 - Never played.
NFS HP - Lamboghini Countach
NFS HS - McLaren F1 GTR, Porsche 911 Turbo
NFS PU - 935 Moby Dick, 911 Carrera RS, 944 Turbo S, 911 GT1, 356 (any/all of them), 550 Spyder
NFS HP2 - Only played demo, not enough to truly choose.
NFS U - Mazda RX-7
NFS U2 - Mazda Miata (little car, good power)
NFS MW - BMW M3 GTR, Porsche Carrera GT, Porsche 911 GT2, Porsche Cayman S, Lotus Elise
NFS C - BMW M3 GTR, Porsche Carrera GT, Lotus Elise

Forgive my overzealousnous when it comes to Porsches. The 356 may not be the fastest on the track, but it is a true classic and with so many variants you can't go wrong.

jed29
12-14-2006, 12:41 AM
well i will not say anything bad about the 356 because it is also a fav of mine too

12-16-2006, 12:13 PM
TNFS: Corvette ZR-1
NFS II: Jaguar XJ220
NFS III: Mercedes SL600
NFS High Stakes: Chevrolet Camaro
NFS Porsche Unleashed: 1995 Porsche Turbo ( I could be wrong on the year)
NFSHP2: Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R
NFSU: Honda S2000
NFSU2: Nissan 240SX
NFSMW: BMW GTR
NFSC: Ford GT

My favorite out of all of those, is probably the ZR-1 from the first NFS. I wish EA would bring that car back :(

mx19
12-16-2006, 01:39 PM
nfs1: 512tr
nfs2: there was the best mixture of cars in whole nfs series... fav: f50, lotus gt1 (the only real superlotus in whole nfs series)-superb handling-but i wasn't racing with it often, 355f1, nazca c2,
nfs3: 550maranello, db7 oh... and i've also liked this corvette in indy painting
nfs4: stock: f50 and a lot of addon cars... (f40 rulzzz :] i wish martil leps made one... :( )
nfs5: propably boxter (all in all i don't like porsches... but the game was really good)
nfs6: nice pick of cars from the ea, but bad game imo
nfs7: mazda rx7 and miata probably\
nfs8: the worst ever nfs. no fav car,
nfs9: no fav car
nfs10: no fav car.

ea makes really good lookin' nfses currently, but every new nfs is less entertaining for me... maybe they've got better grapihc, tuning options, new game mods and soundtrack with lot of stars but for me the best were nfses from 2se to 5 (especially nfs2se my first nd4spd and nfs4 - evergreen nfs :D)
also the soundtrack from 2 and 4 were brilliant. now they give a lot of cash for licenced songs... but menu music from 2se was surely the best nfs track ever...

in the end i think ea will probably never make nfs that will give me (us) more fun and satisfaction than older series... sorry guys, but nfs is only a commercial product thesedays... i suppose that they think that the more copies they'll sell the game will be better....but it won't be...

the best cars ever to drive in NFS were Martin Leps's addons, my favs being the Vanquish, Murciélago, F50 and F360 Challenge for NFS4
those cars were just so over standard for the time, with upgrades, great interior, great handling and anything you could think about

TNFS - Didn't play it a lot. So my possibly not so good choice is the Lamborghini.
NFS2SE - Ford GT90. FZR 2000 is more of n00b mobile.
NFS3HP - The AAA Jaguar. Good performer.
NFS4HS - Ferrari F50. Fast and looks good.
NFS5PU - 911 GT1. It's fast.
NFS6HP2 - Mclaren F1 LM. Doesn't spin out every now and then and is also fast.
NFS7U - None
NFS8U2 - None
NFS9MW - Didn't play it enough (doesn't run on my PC)
NFS10C - Didn't play it enough (doesn't run on my PC)

@jed29: FWD=Front Wheel Drive
SUV=Sports Utility Vehicle
4WD=4 Wheel Drive. Supplies power to all wheels when needed. Not neccesarily an SUV (the Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec II is a 4WD, my dad's Corolla is a 4WD).
AWD=All four wheels receive power everytime the accelerator is pushed down. Not neccesarily an SUV.

I don't know what part of Australia you're from but every car magazine I've read (Motor, Wheels, Speed etc) all refer to FWD as front wheel drive amd 4WD as four wheel drive.
