View Full Version : What Is WRONG With EA?!

I CANNOT Belive that they are ditching Police Chases and public traffic that NFS has been known for RIGHT FROM THEIR FIRST GAME FOR PS1. I'm very disappointed at EA cause NFS: Most Wanted was the best of them all because they went back to their "roots" They had this going for them and now their are changing it totally where they remove all the elements that the series is known for!

It is a diff. type of game, but it is still gonna be good..just different

sadly i cant flame you here- so I'll make this quite clear.

Electronic Arts is trying to get away from the Illegal Street Racing Scene, while adding a new game engine, physics, and realistic damage, and in depth performance tuning options-

Sanctioned ProRacing is the new (and older) Fad - which will hopefully eliminate the entire existence of ricer wannabes who thought Fast and the Furious is fun to try on public roads where innocent civilians could possibly get hurt.

Ok, but I still thought they should of done an NFS: Hot Pursuit 3 insted. Oh well. -Chris

why- at least EA is trying to be fresh again.. all that ricing got annoying for the last 4 years.. sad... at least this is halfway back to roots, with a decent damage system.. give it a try before you bash the game.. you may be surprised.

lack of cops means nothing now.

i think so too, altough when you have your cars the way you liek them its better too have the cops on you though :/

Pro Street Is Going to Be like Underground 1 except it will be daylight, and diffrent tpes of cars exotics, and muscles.

bizarre
07-09-2007, 07:21 PM
Lol, maybe some renegade politician was building up a case about how videogames like NFS were promoting illegal street racing and giving kids wrong ambitions (think GTA), so they decided to scrap the illegal stuff and cops in exchange for some damage. And in my opinion, this is Not going back to the roots. Going back to the roots would be only exotics on ride-open country roads at exotic locations. But that may never come true. EA's already in to deep with customization and ricer cars. They can't afford to scrap customization at this point. Too bad, maybe NFS would be better off without customization. Aside from a few exceptions, the cars that are being made with NFS are horribly distasteful, overloaded, riced pieces of junk.

i kinda noticed that, very shocking to me to take out the cops and have drag races.. that's really not EA.

what is wrong with ea simple they got away what made them nfs 1-6 then FnF movie came out and they change everything around lost fans from the 1st generation of the game for ricer, neon lights, air shock then saw that they need the older fans back and made MW then copied aka carbon then got complaints about how short it was and how bad it was.so they are now trying to fix it instead of doing the simply way of going to back the old way but yet affriad of losing the money from the tuner fans.so no more open road racing from parts of the world etc.in the end it is all about money they don't care about the fans who made them.if they were like the car maker, converters, track makers, and tools makers here who cares about the game ea would be 10 times better company.money is the root of all greed so greed messed up ea.

Sinister
07-09-2007, 10:52 PM
you wont lose money ridding ricer/tuner fans.. if anything it'll bring in more of the proper fans.

EA definately needs proper consultants from the major fansites, not just yesmen.

StylezP - do not try to compare ProStreet with that crap they called underground.. at least ProStreet will be good.

EA cannot touch Forza. Microsoft Game Studios has put far too much money into the series for EA to match it. At best they can challenge Project Gotham, but they're in an unfamiliar territory. They're messing with the big kids now.

Hey at least there won't be cops like the ones in TDU. They can get so annoying. Now I'm not trying to start a conversation about the shortcomings of TDU, I'm just saying that they should have never been there in the first place. I am just glad EA is trying something fresh and new, I think I will like the new game a lot.

SubyRS

While the new gameplay of TDU is a giant leap into the future for the franchise, the AI police behavior in it is a painfull reminder of the games dismal roots.

EA has always had the best police chase AI. And the best control/physics interface. The cars do just what you dirrect them to do with no supprizes. People like that.

Also, I don't think a franchise that boasts 10 successive (11 with MCOL) racers that continue to attract attention from a broad user base needs to learn anything from a company that has produced (2) racing games (Forza) of questionable worth.

Maybe if EA continues this like it did Underground and MW (Carbon was the same thing) it will be like Forza or GT. But ProStreet won't. GT and Forza are both still way better when it comes to realism IMO.

Sinister
07-11-2007, 02:52 PM
realism maybe, but entertainment and fun factor.. no.. forza blew chunks all over the carpet on that one. dont even get me started on GT-- that was worse than super mario kart.

pro street is a simularcade.- mix of both worlds, and with damage, and realistic smoke.. thats a good start so far.

In the trailer, the first Gameplay i mean, is that the smoke. THE SMOKE. EA wants illigal racing gone. I mean they dont want to be an influance to illigal racing today alomost owned by Civic drivers also know as Ricers. Sorry civics, Love you guys. But now noobs with civics or so will see this and say 'IM GONNA GO MAKE SMOKE MOM WITH MY CAR IN THE GARAGE WITH MY GIRLFRIEND GETTING SERIOUS WITH MY BEST FRIEND!.' So then moms will go crazy and say that their 10 yr old boy is saving money on a car to make smoke and then EA will take out the smoke, and then everyone will complain that in the very end there will be no cars...No cars, no fun, no life. No EA. Well Sorry mom, but I love smoking...My car i meant.
This comment had no sense :) And if you do understand me, call my doctor.

There messing with the big kids now.

pretty much right, i mean NFS was an underground tipp for gamers before like inbetween of nfs6 - 7, then it went "cool" and "in" and now its been pushed by the medias, and is as needed for pop culture as justin timberlake is...but nowhere near sting.

1. the SMOKE (OMGWTFBBQPIE??) is awesome, its a new tech they where working on for some time now, to add realism to the game (even if its a bit harsh)

2. every game has its effect to the real world, if its NFS XX (insert number here) wich gives people the imagination to try to go and street race like they could do with their S2000 ingame, or if its GTA wich tones down your fear to kill people crossing the street because its fun or if its counterstrike being in fault of your death on your first mission when you finally ARE member of a real anti terror squad.

^^ and in the end...computergames are NOT in fault of anything people do, german scientists prove that. - i just wanted to show you that the smoke wont change peoples lives :)

That is pretty obvious right there. This has been talked to very many times in the other old threads.

All I'm gona say is that be a part of the EA crew and feel on what really is to make a game or some such.

EA is not trying to match Forza, it isn't even a simulation. Pro street will be MORE LIKE a sim, but not one like GT or Forza. They just want to pump up the racing experience. You can still customize everything, not sure about neons and other stuff like that, but you can autosculpt EVERYTHING, including the stock parts. They have aerodynamics and a wind tunnel, yes, I admit with the "65 manufacturers" they sound a bit like GT, but playing it will be a huge difference, and will very likely be a best-seller once again.

Too put it simply, nothing is wrong with EA. They finally got some sense knocked into them, and are going away from the underground ricer bull****. We should be celebrating, not hating.

It is unlikely that Ferrari will ever allow its vehicles to be licensed into the NFS franchise ever again. It is also Unlikely that EA will pay the $$$$ required to get a ferrari vehicle back into an nfs game. I have been wrong before and will probably be wrong again but in this instance i do not think so.

Sorry to Ferrari fans, but Ferrari logo is a horse. THEY SUCK HORSE DICKS! Why dont they want the worlds fastest production car or close to that in NFS? They want to be the best, italians want the best. And NFS is the best driving car game of all time, and im sure Ferrari headquarters are thinking this instance to put any ferrari in it. But those stupid italians want to be Tier 4 cars, they want to be what? THE BEST! So **** you all that says Ferrari is best, **** you ferrari by making me suffer by not putting in a ferrari....Okay sorry all im just damn mad, I see mods on the Pc for a ferrari but its not the same as driving a real licensed ferrari in Mw or carbon. As im on Xbox it makes me darn mad. Ferrari wont be the same as it was in the 90's. Always in the best arcade racing games. :) Well im sure there gonna be replace by Mclaren or Saleen.

Easy. They don't want their cars get damaged, and they don't want their cars to be associated with street-racing or "tuning". But does it really matter? I doubt the people buying Ferrari's are the ones playing NFS...

Lol Diablo! I thought of that, is there a ferrari in one of the James bond movie 'james bond a.k.a Peirce brosman?' I think that Peirce blows up a Lamborghini and a prosche, but i dont thin ktheres any ferraris....Danm horse!

I want the horse to run away from the badge and break its legs, thats never going to happen. :dozey:

Now this is what nfs is about, circuit racing with a hint of street. If you played the original nfs it was about street racing and exotics, like hot pursuit 2 (correct me if im wrong).

It's come to the track and it has girls in it so im happy ^_^
Different people, different opinions.

Ferrari F1 Team: Idiots, they do everything different.
Ferrari road cars: Awesome!

Why the game is named "Pro Street" when there is no streets but only tracks circuits and freeways??? Where the f**k are the streets??? But I think the game looks great if We forget the name. The cool thing is that U put in it not only newest cars but more models from the past like U did in NFS Carbon. I like that. And sorry for my not very good english.

Ok, here's what I say (if anyone gives a shit lol)
I love simulation. Everything as real as it should be.
I also love hard realistic games. There's no reason for stupid imaginary stuff in games, reality is enough exciting and challenging if they make a game enough realistic, and do it the right way.
After NFSPU, I've been waiting for a game with realistic physics from NFS, but, never happend! instead, I got used to cop chases that you hit a cop car twice as heavy duty as your car, cop car crashes, you dont! However, the MW's adrenaline and excitement is really admirable.
Accepting NFS PS was hard for me too. but after that "disaster".... (which you all thought its weird to say its a disaster but thats how much i love NFS) I think Prostreet is just the right thing. I only agree with cop chases which are 100% simulation, which means you get caught 99.999% of the times. So, if I dont want them to chase me, then why have them in a game?

I think they could do much better smokes tho. The smokes are cool but not that real.
c'mon, its better than that Carbon shit anyways!
This is the real prostreet racing. Maybe you get more interested in the game:

Prostreet is a term for that kinda racing in real, I dunno what Pro means in the term, Its probably either Pro meaning preceding, like preceding the real streets, or Pro meaning Professional, like Professional streets for professional drivers. Um, anyone? any other ideas?

If they keep to the circuits, im happy. MW was a thrilling game (not like scary pictures and gore) and very entertaining. I wasn't very pleased with UG and UG2, still they were fun games. But in MW the rx7 is faster than my dads car (a subaru impreza sti) o.0

I like the idea that theres no more " Str33t Tuner" cars and its pure racing with skill!

If it is good lets hope they stay to this type .
