For everybody who is trying to download the demo here is a fast link.

http://files.filefront.com/NFSProStreet+Demoexe/;8950492;/fileinfo.html

By the way just finished the demo. I was expecting a bit more then just 2 races and 2 cars, but the graphics are really great. One thing which i didn't like was the handling. Its surely much better then by Carbon but still a bit dissapointing.

Edit: here it says it cant find Skid in shader fx\worlddecal.efx

wow, this game stutters persistently. damn, i run DiRT at max settings at least twice as smooth as this. hopefully its because im using the 169.04 beta drivers for Crysis.

crysis is one sexy game

Stutters?
Really nice and smooth for me, I'm running 169.04 I think.
Runs very smoothly on max settings @ 1440x900 for me, using Vista Ultimate on a Macbook Pro.

@Revolution - You are one lucky guy, getting a new present and running the game fine =P

I have tested the demo out on another powerful computer, but I must say it's worth buying it. (Physics are a little realistic (cause it's only the demo, I still have to wait for the full game)).

Speed Challenge took me a while to beat, I kept crashing for 2-3 times. =D

im assuming that you are using a 7800?

well then, its not a driver issue. hmmmmmmmm......

How about this? Don't download if you don't have fast connection? Sending over the internet is also very long, there's no difference.

Also use the edit button, don't spam with double posts. k?

Yeah, I'm absolutely stunned at the level of graphics I can play on :/
I have a S478 P4 2.4 GHz @ 2.7, and 1GB of PC2700 RAM (I know, it sucks) @ 383 MHz.
That, plus the Geforce 6800NU 128MB AGP with all 16x6 pipes open still plays everything at 1024x768 with 2xAA and 4xAF with like a million FPS it seems (okay, 54 average :P )

EDIT: The game rocks, I overlooked one bump in the beginning of the speed challenge though, I cartwheeled the car thirteen times before it landed on its wheels, totaled xD
Then I restarted, but still the BMW you can drive there seems sluggish in the corners :/ could be me though

well this sucks. DiRT runs VERY smooth on my pc at max settings, but in prostreet, i get hiccups. it does so at lowest settings too. :(

hopefully its just a driver issue with my card or something that can be fixed through software.

is it me or does the demo seem rather to easy to play even when your playing as the "king" cos i just finished playing it and i went straight to "king" and found the demo surprisingly easy

anyways the game looks great the physics are pretty close to real i feel

but the over all gameplay from what i can gather does feel like its goner leave it somewhat lacking

I had the same problems. My specs are way below yours:
AMD A XP 2000+
ATI R9550GE 128RAM

I lowered the sound quality and freed up 20% drive space and the crashes no longer happen... and the game runs at 30-40 fps. I think it's because of RAM and virtual memory, but who knows... :\

I think 1.5 GB is more than enough for the game, but as far as I know you must have atleast 20% free space on each partition so Windows and applications could operate properly... but I never saw any proof this to be true, even though I try to keep them 20% on my 38GB drive just in case.
I'm not even sure is it because of this or something else, but really after that the game did not crash not even once.

There are still driving aids on in the demo according to EA, even on "king" setting. Actually, you will find the game more difficult to play on the newbiest setting, because the aids want to drive the car for you and you end up fighting it. The full game will be much more challenging is what I've read at EA.

The graphics in the PC version does have jitters no matter how many fps's you are getting, just like the PS3 demo. Switch to hood or track cam and they dissapear. Only the X360 demo runs smooth visually in the chase views.

The PC demo is great to control with a steering wheel, but impossible with the xbox gamepad for PC. Seems there is some Y-axis overlap at 0 because the car wants to go left or right all the time. Impossible to keep the car on the straight road. No deadzone or axis adjustments in the demo and that could be a big problem if the full game does not.

Also, the smoke effects even with all graphics maxed do not look near as good as the x360 demo. They are grey and dissipate instantly. On the x360 demo the smoke is white and really floods the screen in a burnout. Somebody is playing favorites with the game platforms I think.

The physics using a wheel on the grip race reminded me almost immediately of Total Immersion Racing, which is aOK with me.

SLP Firehawk

i never saw any jitters on a c2d e6600 and a 1900xtx, runs very smooth in chase cam

if I was playing this and never was informaed of the name, i probably wouldnt have guessed it was need for speed. everything played out very well and the level of completion is there. the driving aids still annoyed the hell out of me, the car autobrakes before corners on the grip race so powersliding is out of the question and you often get passed if you dont try to slow and take a corner the "nice" way. graphics were great, but the damage effect could use some work, seems my m3 bumper was always getting bent outwards, no realtime deforming here, i would expect my bumper gets bent back when i hit someone. very happy overall, waiting in anticipation for the release

I don't want to pass early judgment, being it's the demo and all...

but there's something that irks me rather much about this game. for one, I was under the impression it was getting away from the ricer bullshit. the two cars you play as in the demo are littered with graphics and fartcans. and don't tell me that's tuning, WINDOW BANNERS AND DECALS DO NOT MAKE THE CAR GO FASTER.

I'm wholly unimpressed with the track styling -- I was hoping we'd at least get something like NFS3 or 4 in the track design department..... even NFS6 had cool tracks (particularly on the PS2 version, which I've just recently discovered).

I guess it's the realism factor that's going to ruin this game. but in its defense, at least it's getting away from reproducing the same game FOUR times (albeit with minor changes, like cops, oh, and bs drift modes)

i've still got to write up my already 4+ page rough draft of the Full version, but I will tell you right now..

KINGmode in the full version is nowhere as easy as it was in the demo.
for all you who think so, will end up crying cause it will be too hard for you.

and for those who like the King and challenge, great, you'll enjoy Pro Street as Much as I had.

*as for the ricer part mecha - I had a pretty much visual stock GT500, and completely dominated the Drag Events after my tuning.

I just tried the demo & the gameplay itself was very choppy, and that was at the lowest video settings. I bought a Nvidia 6800 card early this year so I could run Carbon, but it looks like it won't be good enough for ProStreet, so I probably won't buy the game now. That's a shame. I own every NFS title but the games are outdoing the previous by a longshot so that I have to keep upgrading my video card & that's getting too expensive.

Revolution
11-04-2007, 08:57 AM
WHat specs are the rest of your PC? Adding more RAM might fix choppiness if you have less than 1gb. I'd recommend 2gb for smoothest gameplay.

Rev hes got a point there. maybe the demo has bugs that only show on some computers and not all of them. thats why people are having different problems.

i d-loaded it through a torrent tracker :P
atleast 1mb/s speed

anyway, the demo is short, only 2 races :(
plus, there is a handling and braking assistance in Casual and Racer dificulity, wich sux.
The game is allmost impossible to steer without a a PC steering wheel, well atleast not so good :(

The car damage is not so highly detailed as i thought it would be, but for a first try after 7 years (HP2 dosent count :) ) , is pretty good! :o
i run the game on 800x600 and semi-high settings, my v-card dosent allow more :(
I have a 6600 with 512Mb`s .. O.o

Arlind
11-04-2007, 10:18 AM
Well I'm a bit dissapointed with the damage. Its not really high detail but thats not the real problem. I realised while i was playing that the damage didnt effect the performance of your car, neither the acceleration nor handling or other things. This is just in the demo and i hope that the full game will have damage effect also on the performance.

However is still a really nice made game.

here`s a BMW M3 after a few seconds, after ramming a electricity post with a speed of 320 Km/h
the car was still driveable, but yet, the steering was a bit strange, wasnt so easy to control it anymore, or is it a glich of the up/down/left/right buttons?

btw, i think this glich is on all cars, the only thing EA can`t fix nor make.
