Our dev team is aware of some of the issues that require attention for the PC version of ProStreet. Among those are the choppy/laggy gameplay and occasional crashes. I was hoping to get some feedback from you guys to see if you have noticed any other issues yourself, or from people in your communities. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated so that our dev team can work to get these issues resolved with the future patch.

So if anyone could please post any problems they have had recently with the PC version of ProStreet, we can get this resolved with the patch they are building up.

The sooner you all get your bug reports in, the sooner the patch should be released.

in Nevada Highway B, I was using a Ford GT when I hit a bump @ 375KM/H. I was thrown and flew forward. Before I landed on ground, my car just went through a billboard. (Just like invisible!)

On the stock autosculpt, and the second to last bodykit stage 1 bodykit for the Honda Civic (old model), the rear number plate seems to get part covered by the body, and flicker alot when moving.

the gto hops in the raceday menu, the mustang autosculpt widebody has two frames showing in speed challenge.

The list is rather long I'm afraid.

The lag when racing is unacceptable.

The vinyls hog too many resources for no apparent reason :confused: Having serious vinyls on the car should not slow the game to 6fps

Issues with model placement in relation to the ground. The front wheels are often suspended in mid air or trying to dig to Australia. Also in cut scenes you have a problem with bouncing wheels and models as teh scene is created (it seems like the car is dropped from a height in Drag in particular.

The announcer starts talking about the wrong driver and car in Drag races.

The Textures are all messed up for meshes on nearly all aftermarket bodykits. I have pics to prove this. It is also in all different modes of graphics. High or low settings have no change.

When the left or right keys are depressed the inertia bump (car has body roll counter to direction turned) causes loss of acceleration disproportional to the action. In my friends case making the events with winnable cars nigh on impossible.

Sector Races have issues with psychotic number crunching. You beat a sector and the AI instantly beats it with a random number (sometimes higher than the max number of points at the beginning of the sector).

The Ford Escort Cosworth has its rear wing positioning for aftermarket wings in the wrong place (should be similar to 240SX not Civic's)

The Drag King is not hard to beat if your car can do 7s passes. I noticed if it can only do 8s passes then Karol does low 8s and even some high 7s passes. Also why is Karol in the Mustang GT when the GT500 is that much quicker???

Porsche 911 Turbo seems to be insanely fast on Willow Springs in the G-Effect rounds. Dunno if its a bug but I definately cannot catch it no matter how I tune the Evo X, Impreza, 240SX or any other quick grip car.

The Downforce V Drag ratio is wrong. Increasing Downforce will INCREASE Drag. Currently you just do all bumper mods 100% and you get increased downforce and lowered drag which is incorrect.

A biggie is comparative power figures vs times in drag too. How is it possible a 240SX with 486Bhp can run mid to low 7s passes similar to a 1100Bhp Zonda? The balancing in drag needs to be redressed.

4WD/AWD need to be allowed into Drift events. They behave differently to RWD but are still able to drift. Maybe add a AWD/4WD front rear Bias slider to tuning. This is important as Ryo can drift his Evo X...

Camera view in Speed racing is woeful. Any hill crest and you are stuffed. Needs to be raised a bit when behind the car in close and far.

Stability in speed races needs to be looked at. Maybe its just playing with a keyboard but when turning in speed the turning force applied is inconsistent. Tap the key lightly and you turn almost imperceptibly, hold it a split second longer and it turns too hard.

Turning in the game in general is also inconsistent. Same as with Speed though you need to press really long for high turning angle when it needs to be shorter.

Graphics options need to be more detailed.

Vinyls need to be sped up. Currently it takes far too long to insert vinyls. Also more control over viewing vinyls too. Currently you only see whats below the vinyl in question. sometimes you need to see others above it too.

For example, you painted your wheels black, in the next race menu, they`ll show up as white...

not really a bug but it should be in the patch (as it should've been for carbon and MW) there is no deadzone for the 360 controller.

A bug is a feature that is a part of the game that does not work/display as intended. The deadzone on the 360 controller is a bug as the controller is not working as intended (unless they are stupid).

Yeah the drift rear wheel colour change. Thats annoying.

On the Grip race on Ebisu you start with you car lightly damaged due to the wall you start in for one of the set car races. This shouldn't happen.

The graphics glitch with the RX-7's headlights when on high graphics settings in the garage when using the autosculpt stock bodykit. The headlights disappear and you see the engine bay through the gap.

You cannot have more than one Alias on PC because the career savegames are left in the main save directory instead of in each Alias directory. This also leads to being able to create a second alias by renaming the first one and making a new one ingame and using the same career savegames.

The Acura Integra LS costs 0 for Collectors Edition and can be sold immediately for 7200. You can do this as much as you like.

If you have the online Subaru free purchase at the start you can purchase multiple WRX's save and exit. Then sell them all for 11,000ish each.

When unable to have World FX above low you have no idea when to go for drag races without a light tree because you have cannot see the girl and there is no 3, 2, 1, Go message onscreen. This needs to be resolved fast as it is a major disadvantage to lower level computers.

I have a few bugs in NFS PS

my first one is the video settings.... if i turn then up above default I crash at end of a video. i cant do anything.. no people, world , smoke, any car upgrade, it dumps me to the desktop.. i can immediately go back into game and all defaults r back... checked registry settings and found i could manually put in video h & w (1280x720) and it will keep and run at that setting reliably. but still no people smoke or pretty things. can see car and track... (especially difficult on drags where i think a person is starting us off...i see the shadow on ground)

also have a random sound bite that sounds like someone squishing Mario or the crashing of a car in moon patrol.

also have the bouncy wheels on most cars.

the occasional loooooonng save time as well ..just randomly happens.

.... so much for now... only been playing it for a few hours.

any help on the video would be nice.

may not matter.... logitech mx5000 bluetooth KB w/ mx 1000 mouse
on a 42" toshiba regza lcd (DVI to HDMI)

runs game fine but cant stress it to see my max

The Random sounds byte seems to be associated with the backfire sound (never seems to play properly) and Low sound quality settings. It happens usually once per every 2 races. More often in Grip and Drift and needs to be fixed (gets annoying fast!!!)

As for settings I have a 7600GS and my settings are barely above default. The 7300 won't be able to do any better. Max res would be about 1024x768 (or 1024x600 for widescreen). 2800 Barton is barely min req's too (though my Athlon (Barton) 2500+ Mobile chip has no probs while running at 2.5Ghz).

Go get a Radeon 3850 (if PCIe capable) and you'll have phenomenal gfx performance mate!

Not sure it's a bug, but why not getting higher speeds than 403 km/h? I tuned my z06 with long gear ratio and max hp but it won't ever pass 403 km/h even if the tachometer is far from redline and I can reach this speed without long gears and with less hp. And this available to any car.

Oh another clipping problem is the rear window on the Lotus Elise. It seems to be associated with the entire texture overlay for the car as all logo's vinyls and decals are reproduced in miniature on it.

There needs to be a 3-2-1-GO or some system for the lower gfx settings where there is no 3d girl to tell you when to go.

is it normal that i cant customise vehicles outside my career on the ps2 version of this game. also the wind tunnel is completely missing. is this supposed to be like that, am i missing them or is there sumthin wrong with my game?????

you can only customize your cars in career, the same goes for the wind tunnel, its only in the car customization screen.

I downloaded the english version, since i am english and thinking that since i bought my copy of the game from a shop in england that the english patch would work for people living in england, a very fair assumption i would have thought?
however For us people in england it would appear we fall under "rest of europe " LOL
i like the way that works........
Although, there are no signs of a bugatti veryon, mac f1 infactthe only two cars that HAVE appeared are the roadrunner and the leon cupra! lol
least i can play the game now!

the lancia integrales roof disappears on some of the bodykits, also the hood turns black on anything but stock, and vinyls start their placing in a weird place, at the bottom of the skirts

Apparently it's an incomplete car. EA will unlock those "hidden" cars themselves once they have finnished them with patches.

As stated before(in a long post) there are NUMEROUS texture issues such as grille, mesh, and wire. most notable on the Mustang 06 when you put any body kit on it there are wire textures that skew horrifically.

my complaint is the poor poor poor FPS the game has just too may lag, my specs are the following

AMD Athlon 64 2800+
Visiontek Radeon HD 2600XT AGP 512MB
3.00GB ram
80GB+320GB(installed here)=400 total HDD space

another complaint i have is that i cant seem to find opponents online i have 512Kbps, and it seems very empty if not ghostly... i have basicly tried everything here from closing explorer.exe, reinstalling PS to even removing the Punkbuster from it (tho this was rather stupid, but still i tried), and still nothing, i connect online but i seem to be the only one on, even the leaderboards are empty on the PC ( at least on my pc) i have not cheated online not even once, it simply dosent work.... i asume it's related to a bug...

all i that ive seen since the others avobe basicly pointed out everything else

Painted (stock) Rims don't seem to work properly.

They only show up on the 67 Corvette when the video is passing over the contestants (and then they "flicker" between grey and yellow), and once I saw my AE86 with unpainted rear rims, even though they were painted.

yes i have patched the game to 1.1 and no, it's not the processor (or so i think) i get VG frames in other games, this one just kicks my butt around. still i might give the processor a Hvy OC or put the new one i have after i flash the bios on it.

another bug i saw was that the 1.1 cars (Gallardo and challenger concept) were buggy as i raced side to them, they were missing the rear of the car completely

Game crashes to windows when viewing ccx in car lot or garage or choosing for a race day.

Solved by replacing (v1.1) ccx files in cars folder with (V1.0) files from group1.cab on dvd (With obvious renaming)

EDIT - No... Not solved, not solved at all. Am investigating, will give detailed analysis asap.

EDIT - ccx problem sussed if not solved... Ran the game in various states of graphics - different Res, AA and car detail. The only thing that affected whether I could load the ccx was car detail - anything other than low setting results in game crash. This only seems to happen with the ccx and happens less when there are no body/vynil mods - can *sometimes* select an unmodded ccx but not always.


On the bright side, Have found I can run with higher Res and AA than I had on before :thumbsup:

EDIT - Game crashes while loading ccx unless car detail is on lowest.

I can join race-days that already have traffic and can be left in them on my own to wait for other players but can't start my own off... And - can start my own multiplayer custom race day and other players can join but I can't search for other peoples custom race-days. Not sure this counts as a bug - maybe online play is just different from most other games I've played.

well for starters, NFS is better off with the usual server style multiplayer system not this load of crud... In order to race in a freestyle event, you have to join in a room and then wait for someone else to hit join, only then you will be able to enter that room (i.e. Noisebomb) 2nd. the only way you can find a custom raceday is by using Quick Match in the main menu and hopefully the server finds someone racing a custom raceday. 3dr if you create a multiplayer raceday you have to wait until the EA server acknowledges that there is a custom raceday and inserts it into the server list, this can be a wait in minutes... and then you'd have to wait til somenoe hits quick macth in the main menu, hoping that he itts the right option (ranked or unranked)

IMO this server system sucks, i'd prefer the MW style server or MMOR that is just one server and one server only with everyone in it.

Wheels losing colour in drag racing.

A bodykit for the Supra is incomplete (the rear wheel arch has a triangular gap).

When I loaded a career today the date said June of year 2144 or something like that... :P

Race-Day joining 2 bugs:

When I click a race-day (that has traffic), I typically get "searching for games" (For Approx 1 sec) then a "Searching for players" (Approx 30 Secs), then "No players found".

I'm told that if no traffic is apparent (Or game is full or traffic is too high - hence does have traffic), then game should put me in a new race-day of that type ala "Host game"

- I have never yet been able to host a game (ie join when no other players are present)

- Also - If I, after failing to enter a race-day that has apparent traffic, LEAVE the race-day map altogether, then go back to it, I can typically join a day that has previously not let me in after 10, 20 or more attempts.

(I'm running a UK 1.1 version - ask if you need more info)

Another one:

Someone sends me a friend-request, I press 'M' to get to messenger to accept the request, while I'm doing that, the next race starts.

The friend-request is cancelled - I don't know if it comes up as 'Denied' or what but it makes me seem unfriendly if it does.

Can easily workaround by sending my own new friend request but should be sorted I think for the sake of online friendly relations :)

hey guyz i just patched the game and for some reason it shows that i have only completed 1% of the game in career mode. I was near the end of the game and now i am extremely frustrated could anyone give me any ideas. Also when i enter career map my game crashes to desktop FUUKKKK

AI cars changing HP between Drags/Drifts in some races.

Example: Drift race: Car with most HP is RX-8 with 800 for first two races. In third race, HP has dropped to below 600.

Or is this damage?

A number of bodykits actually remove bodypanels.

The Lancia Delta with any kit other than standard or wide looses its roof and grille textures (they go completely transparent), and alot of the Lambo Superleggera's kits have missing bodywork too... there are probably others.

Is this a built in thing or can I fix it? It is really getting on my nerves

I've noticed this has been brought up twice now, and there is still a lack of an explanation... So I'll repeat it.

I have downloaded the Booster Pack, but all I got was the Road Runner, and the gay Cupra that has no reason to even want to be driven. IMO the Cupra is a waste of Copyright BS that EA went through.

Any reason as to why just these two extra cars show up for me to drive??

I dont know about you but I get 60fps easy. Check my specs, low end CPU, midrange video card and medium speed RAM

I see that alot, almost constant. Sometimes I see the car drop from like 3 feet in the air when it's loaded and it bounces a little.

He's talking about the other drag racers. However if you mean he mentions a driver that's NOT driving the car he says they are, then I've never noticed.

One of the reason's I'm not completely satisfied, AFAIK its an issue on all platforms.

Sector Races have issues with psychotic number crunching. You beat a sector and the AI instantly beats it with a random number (sometimes higher than the max number of points at the beginning of the sector).
If he pulls through a specific sector faster than you do, then this will happen. Annoying but it happens. The thing I dont like about the sector race is the person who starts first gets the bonus points for finishing the sectors first while everyone else is catching up.

Havent lost many grip races with the 240SX, only exceptions are long, straight tracks, and the Zonda.

I've never lost a match driving the zonda, even stock. It's rediculously fast so I refuse to use it unless I'm just having fun in single player

It actually says in the readme to reduce the keyboard repeat rate to slow this down.

Turning in the game in general is also inconsistent. Same as with Speed though you need to press really long for high turning angle when it needs to be shorter.
Sounds like you're using Casual or Racer modes (not sure if racer has it but they apply steering assist to help you keep to your racing line. Bad though because you adjust to how your car turns with the keyboard and the game is readjusting it for your speed and line.

Graphics options need to be more detailed.
Only GFX options I didnt really get are the world lighting on/off (off looks better to me) and AA (level 1, level 2, etc.?? where's 4x AA or 8x AA?)

It's faster on consoles, maybe its a PC speed issue?

Only real bug that hinders my gameplay is with the booster pack I bought the Koenigsegg CCX and now my game crashes every time I try to view or even skip past it (it doesnt have to load to crash it) I cant sell it and there isnt a tool out there yet to let me delete it. My 240SX is in that save file so I dont want to delete it entirely.

if it's a PC issue, docent EA a team assigned to check this out? i.e. make a new engine or modify the engine in a way? a hot-patch for performance maybe? i mean Carbon GFX engine compared to this is a speed demon (maybe the only good thing carbon had)

as for the CCX bug, i had that happen with the Veyron, what i did was re-install the Booster pack since it (apparently) install with errors.

i find this to be almost unacceptable in a patch. and considering the size of it, for 3 tracks and 12 cars that were 1/2 installed already, it's insane, not to mention my game seems to have a 30 FPS roof and no matter how hard i try it does not leave i can play on high at 30 and low does not let me pass 30, it is simply stuck there vsync on or off all on or all off it's just jammed at 30 or less.

i mean what's wrong with EA R&D on this one? it went from bad to worst and the only feedback were getting from them is the race diaries called "birth of ProStreet which IMO suck. no big deal in seeing them if the game sucked bad.

if you want to see a good engine with literally low consumption, Google Trackmania nations forever, it's free and has a preety good GFX engines, possibly one of the best on a racing game ive seen.

i don't have the game anymore, but from what i heard, you have to buy the rest of the cars of the pack, do they appear on the car shop for you?

I went to the official site, and only seen where the Collectors Edition Upgrade can be bought, but the booster pack was free... But it did say that the Road Runner and the Cupra was included, and the other cars "could" be bought as well... Now if I understood that correctly, Im thinkin they didnt mean you could buy it in the car lot.... SO heres the question... where would I buy em if I ever deside that Pro Street would be worth spending more money on it?

you would think if you had to actually spend real money, I would hear something about it... Its not like downloading a free patch... People would be *****ing.

MCF, there's a hack for that. I dont remember where I got it, so I'll prolly have to send the actual file to you. It unlocks everything.

The thing is, after you apply the hack, the game feels pretty useless, because you're given the fastest cars in the world for free. It kinda kills the game, if you know what I mean. I decided to finish the game without using the unlocked cars.

Regarding the "bug report". There're a few things I'd like to add.

Optimization:
The car effects and damage cause some systems to crash because of their graphics cards, even the ones with performance cards like the X850 pro.

The CPU Usage is awfully high, even with a dual core X2 6000. I'm not sure if there's any single core that can handle this game.

AntiAlias only goes up to 8X, even on a graphics card that supports 16X.

Attention to details:

The girls on the track disappear after a few seconds. The girls are modeled great, but why only 2 of them?

Some bodykits feature completely messed up textures especially in areas like the front bumper where you can see the net texture.

With all this spectacular animations and character movements, we're yet to see any driver movements. You see driver movement on any car game these days, even the very low graded ones. We had it on NFS until 2002. So, what happened?

Gameplay:

Every part is licensed by their actual manufacturer. But for some reason, the more commonly known body kits are left out. Like Veilside, AMG, Brabus, Alpina, Mazda Speed, Saleen, etc, that are seen in the streets quite more often than "Strato Speed" bodykits.

Also, unlike the brakes, no matter what type of tire you're installing on your car, it is not going to look any different. That's kinda weird because all it takes is an extra texture per tire, and the impact on the looks is significant.

They've made us to play as a character called Ryan Cooper. What makes EA think that the face has to be hidden? Obviously, he's male, white, and American. The whole point of having an "anonymous" character is that the gamers won't have to deal with the identity, race, and nationality of the character. The name completely reveals all those. There's nothing else to hide.

I rolled my car and got it back on the ground on its 4 wheels. The body is barely scratched. Still, my car is considered totaled because I've rolled it. Very clever...

As mentioned below, drafting, as much as you may try to reason it in a technical way, seems completely stupid.

I'll keep playing the game and will come up with more.

1) Vinyls are a major pain. Any car, stock or upgraded, having at least one tiny vinyl takes ages to load even in car lot.

2) Persistent car reflection idea is a performance killer. No matter the track, if there would be no reflections then game would run extra smooth.
I could run on absolutely MAX details during Speed King challenge [2 cars only] with 25+ fps. And on lowest possible details [8 cars] it lags like hell [when all cars are being displayed and all have reflections].

3) Turning on car damage always crashes the game. Also damage model is very unrealistic.

4) Drift engine is shit. It was way better in Carbon or even old Undergrounds. And tracks were much more interesting.

5) Performance data should be somewhat changed. How is it possible that Subaru or Lancer are a match for Murcielago or Zonda even tho the might lack more than 300BHP? It's all because of drafting which is insanely overpowered. Car 2 times slower than yours rockets into the lead just because it drafted you. Definitely not fair.

MCF, there's a hack for that. I dont remember where I got it, so I'll prolly have to send the actual file to you. It unlocks everything.

The thing is, after you apply the hack, the game feels pretty useless, because you're given the fastest cars in the world for free. It kinda kills the game, if you know what I mean. I decided to finish the game without using the unlocked cars.

Because EA could only afford/only wanted 2 models? Again, some of the older posts on this forum have RL pictures of the models used.

Unfortunately, EAs hands are tied with regards to how much damage they are allowed to inflict, especially when it's been rolled.

yeah, you will still need the CD to use it, and it connects to the EA server as well, it just hacks the exe to place the names on it, the cheat codes are still there actually:

list of cheat codes for V1.1 (or at least they work for me), use them by entering Secret code in the cheat code menu

Collectors Edition: 1ma9x99 (used to be "COLLECTORSED&")
Booster pack car set 1: 1mi9k7e1
Booster pack car set 2: l1is97a1
Unlock all things: w2iollo1 used to be "UNLOCKALLTHINGS")

those "should work" without having to modify the NFS.EXE
report back what happened :)

EDIT: there's no need of hacking, those codes are the one that V1.1 comes with, or at least that's what came out of the booster pack i downloaded

what the hack actually does is make em easier to remember:

and on top of that the patch/hack will make most codes permanenet (for esxption of unlock all things) as long as you DO NOT connect to the EA server, once you do, it disables every code entered

in regards to rolling the car, as long as the roof doesnt touch the ground you're fine. I've spun the car on the hood (like a top) and landed on the wheels and kept going, its only when it bounces off the roof that you're considered totalled. As far as damage goes, it's the most realistic unless you're looking at it AS it happens (its instantaneous) or if you plow into a pole at 300+, where the front of the car will bend around it, but the frame of the car is indestructible (as well as the roof). It was said during development they werent allowed to make it look as though the driver would be hurt, hence the unbreakable roof and frame. If you're looking for good stuff like that, check out GRiD, the wheels can come off (or be bent), your car can take way more punishment (as long as they're low-speed), and the frame can bend to a degree.

that hack is on www.nfsplanet.de that re-enables the collectors patch code after patching. It allows you to buy every car but it took a while for the CCX and other booster pack cars to show up (couple days, lots of rebooting and restarting PS). As someone else here said, its unacceptable for a patch to do crap like that (especially when it just enables the extra cars that were already there, there is a patch to get them since v1.0)

Guyz i have a problem i used"unlockallthings" cause i wanted to get to the bosses faster and when i try to challenge ryo i get 3 speed races and 2 drag races instead of the usual ones.:((((((can someone tell me what happened???i really want to kick ryo out of the street scene with the kings cars.

how about some bugf or what not in my ps3 that when i was in my garage last night just bought zonda and finally had like 800k asell i made a model of zonda and sent it and then i followed the direction being (comming here to view it) by leaving out of my garage straight into internet brower with ps button said you have to quit game i click yes come to this site see that my zonda nowhere to be found so i go back to my pro street game and wont load is now corrupted i even tried rebuiling pa3 database with the recovery feature and the file system no work>< (never even got to drive the zonda yet ) so idk if anyone can help possibly just a warning dont follow nfs directions exactly or youll get screwed

once i was drag racing my Charger, scraping against the wall, i hit an INVISIBLE wall, front flipped, landed on the roof, then it turned to gear 0 and not totalled. WTF????? this is on PS3

Howdy folks, I joined here so I can get a game-breaking glitch fixed.

Out of the blue, without any forewarning or previous glitches,The game breaks itself. I also made a video for visual purposes if you can't understand; HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfCWiHY5LlA&feature=plcp)

In NFS Prostreet (standard edition, physical disc copy), the game boots up fine and runs very well...until I win and finish a race. The game proceeds to not let me hit continue, and traps me in gaming purgatory. This happens with every single race, except for the first race since it automatically puts you in the career map.

I tried starting a new career, no avail. A new alias also didn't work. I re-installed it, twice, and no avail. I updated successfully, no avail. This was an incredibly random glitch/bug, and I'm incredibly peeved that I can't do anything about it.

Please, if you can, help me out here.

*Edit: This happened about a week after having this game; I only played it about 3 times.

I have the pc version of the game. I'm running windows 8 x64, but this happened on windows 7 as well, only more frequently. I'm running an amd sempron 145 processor, 2 gigs ddr3 ram, 500 gb hd, and onboard graphics.

I realize that limits my pc to slow as hell status, however it hasn't given me an issue lag wise all that much. In spots it will lag for a split second but it's not so bad I can't compensate.

My biggest issue is when I finish a race it will randomly decide to stop working. The continue button is there, I press the button, it goes yellow, then just stops. I can move the mouse around the screen, I can click everything I want but it does not register ANY other clicks after this. I can do nothing but save my shadow. Even restarting the race doesn't work. So I have to either alt-f4 out or control alt delete. But get this, in task manager, it doesn't show the program as unresponsive.

This IS a legit copy of the game purchased a few years ago, and it is running the 1.1 patch. I upgraded to the patch last week to try to solve the issue. All it did was solve the lag. I'm running the latest nvidia drivers for my onboard graphics.

I used to have this problem occur where while in the autosculpt menu it would lock up randomly while trying to sculpt a bodykit etc. (also had that occur in nfs carbon rather frequently). But that cleared up somewhere along the line.

Any advice? I've googled this for 4 days or so, 2-3 people will post on a forum about it and I can't find a real fix. Everyone suggests reinstalling (done that), patching (done that), turning off antivirus (done that), turning off firewall (done that), short of reinstalling the operating system I've pretty much ran out of ideas and I'm not about to reinstall an op just for a game (as it was on a fresh copy when it started this). Any advice for those unlucky few of us? I almost have a feeling it's a windows update that screwed me, because when I first had windows 7 x64, this never occurred, but after a few months, it started happening.

Did that as my cd/dvd drive went out a couple weeks ago. I had the install sitting unused for a bit due to the bug. But the good news of all this, I found a way around it. It's highly irritating. If you run into a race that does this, it will LOOP, as in it will not stop doing this if you WIN this race. I haven't seen it happen on grip races yet, but it happens on drift, and drag. This being said, if you get second place and manage to dominate the race, and THEN win the race it was locking on, it will not lock again. WTF?! That's the most screwed up bug I've ever heard of! I mean that's almost as bad as the bug on NFS Underground 2 that caused your car to fly about 30-40 feet in the air if you were hit by traffic while doing just the right combination of hydrolic tricks and accelerating. lmao

as I said, I had this problem a while ago start up, since then I've reinstalled after a complete uninstall, patched, as well as the no dvd/cd, as well as all of the previously mentioned with no results. I'm going to attempt to uninstall/reinstall one more time, and hope it works. >.> I checked to see if it could be a software conflict by turning off all background programs, notta. I figured as much. Will update again. Have you personally come up with a proper solution to this issue? Or if anyone else is reading this, has anyone? I'm thinking it's something obviously simple, or so complicated I won't get past it without purchasing an xbox 360 and NFS pro street for it. lmao

Maybe it's the disc. I don't really know, I'm just giving suggestions. If you keep re-installing it and it still doesn't work, that's the only other option. By now, they're probably $10 or so.

Wait for the "statistics" button to appear before clicking on "continue", or better yet, press 2 or click on "statistics" to view the stats, then press <esc> to get back to the previous screen and then click "continue". It seems that the continue button gets enabled while ProStreet is still busy doing post race stuff, such as the stats for the AI cars, and you'll see a "continue" button, but no "statistics" button for a few seconds. If you click on "continue" before the stats get done, ProStreet tends to hang up. In my case, this mostly happens on the longer speed events, like Nevada C. I'm running Windows XP, so the issue is probably not related to the operating system.

There's also an issue with the PC copy protection and multi-core processors. The issue is "cpu 0" getting partially hung up after the copy protection check, which can cause various issues like stuttering or delayed response. Use ctl - alt - del to open up task manager, right click on prostreet and click on go to process. Right click on the process (nfs.exe) and click on affinity. Turn "cpu 0" off and then back on. If you have 4 or more "cpus", just turn off "cpu 0". I have 4 cores with hyperthreading which is 8 "cpus", and I uncheck "cpu 0" and "cpu 1", then go back in to the game.

A minor annoyance fix: whenever ProStreet is run, secure rom creates 2 hidden files with garbled names that are difficult to delete. To remove the files, open a dos console window and use the cd command to go to:

\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\Application Data\SecuROM\UserData

Then use the delete command

del * /p /f /a:shr

and only respond y to the files with the garbled names (usually ???...???).

When you run ProStreet again, secure rom will create those 2 files again, and you'll need to delete those 2 files again if they are causing issues for you. In my case. I remove those files with garbled names because it interferes with my backup process.

I decided to look at the SecuROM folder first (using Win 7 so it's in a dif. spot) and I did find 2 garbled files. I used your command on cmd and was not able to delete them as they keep coming up as "it can't find the file specified".I have a multi-boot system (XP 32 bit, XP 64 bit, Win 7 64 bit) and ran into the same problem if I tried to delete the files from Win 7. Note that ERASE is just an alias for DEL, they're both the same command. I did a search at microsoft forums and found this thread. Only try this on the two garbled files; do not try to delete "windows.old". I'm not sure that it's any different than what I tried. The /S switch is used to delete files from sub-directories, so don't use it in this case.

I don't remember waiting to press continue for a few seconds, but that is easy enough to check.The issue is sometimes there's a delay before the "2 statistics" button shows up, even though the "continue" button is enabled.

I can also try the CPU core fix (I have 6 cores), but to say again, I definitely did not have to do this before.This is an older problem with an intermittent stutter or lag in response to steering inputs. With 6 cores, it may not be an issue, but it's not going hurt to just turn off "cpu 0" and "cpu 1" on nfs.exe (prostreet) on your system. If you want to record gameplay with fraps, you should turn off "cpu 0" and "cpu 1" for prostreet (nfs.exe), and turn off "cpu 2" through "cpu 11" for fraps, so that each is running on a different core, which will improve performance while recording videos.

re-patching with the 1.1 patchIf you want to re-enable the cheat codes, do a web search for SAAM patch. I can't use the 1.1 patch because with my controller (a joystick), it reduces steering to 25% of the range that it should be. EA acknowledge this was a problem but never fixed it.

win7 - secure rom filesThat is a pain. I have Win 7, but I'm not using it other than for testing, because I can't do folder / file oriented backups. With Win XP, I can boot into another OS and run a copy program to copy all folders and files from the XP partition to a folder on another partition, which allows me to do a verify afterwards and allows a selective restore. I can also quick format the XP partition and do a full restore using the same copy program and XP will run just fine. Win 7 has added stuff to NTFS that keeps this from working, so with Win 7, I'm stuck with an image backup process that I can't verify, and the restore process is very slow.

The cutscenes play sound for a little when out of the game,then the cutscene speeds up to get to the point its at.
