Just starting snowing lightly here (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY).

Nice; good to see that you're not running the RE92s in the snow!

We're in store for at least 25+cm of snow for tonight and I can't wait to play around with Emily.

Whoa...that's a decent bit of snow. We got like 8cm so far today. We're due to get more by tomorrow though :D

I know. We had a storm just one week ago that dumped about 10 cm of the white stuff, and another 25 tonight :D

You know what? If that was a 5MT, it would make a great project car! Start with a full STI engine swap, then exhaust, suspension, and maybe a 6MT tranny swap.

A USDM Legacy RSK!

The Legacy that I plan on buying will definitely have a 5MT --and be a sedan. I've been reading forums on turbo swaps and such and it seems to be quite the undertaking.

If my parents end up just giving me this Leg, the first thing that I'm going to acquire are some new rims (Impreza WRX rims probably), then I'll get a rear spoiler (the OE wagonspoiler), a full exhaust replacement, GT-B suspension, and some better brakes. I might repaint it once the paint starts fading or something...Hmm...

This model (http://www.nfscars.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19887) will be the basis for testing out visual replacements. :D

That would look sweet with GT headlights. Have you considered painting the mirrors/door handles/body molding Wintergreen to match the car?

Rally Master
03-11-2008, 10:37 AM
I might acquire GT headlights once I get myself some dough. And yes, it would look better with the black parts painted the same colour as the rest of the car but first I gotta get some touch-up paint and fix some scratches and dents on several parts of the car. I also just might get a 03-04 front bumper in WGM.

As for the Forester...I'm probably not going to do anything to it till after we've paid the thing off in two years.

Woke up this morning to a phone call telling me that my hood deflector had arrived at the dealership. So naturally, I went after lunch and picked it up then installed it. Install took about an hour and a half with most of an hour figuring what the hell was going on in the instruction manual. I swear it's more confusing than graphical convolution of a cosine function with a exponential. But here are the pics:

Nice. Are you planning on doing anything with the grille? Outback grille, perhaps?

Dead bugs suck...so I washed it.

Time for a thread revival!

I still have this car. I am driving it again. Yes, I also still have the WRX. No, I will not be selling the WRX.

I might acquire GT headlights once I get myself some dough. And yes, it would look better with the black parts painted the same colour as the rest of the car but first I gotta get some touch-up paint and fix some scratches and dents on several parts of the car. I also just might get a 03-04 front bumper in WGM.
Clearly I haven't done any of these things since I switched to the '09 Legacy then gave that back to my parents after buying a WRX.

I have gone back to school after working for 3.5 years and decided to switch to the Dorm Hauler. I don't live in a dorm any more so I guess that name's going to go away soon :).

Recent fixes:
Replaced front CV axle (mechanic)
Replaced front brake rotors (mechanic)
Replaced a ball joint (mechanic)
Replaced engine knock sensor (self)
Replaced broken left tail light (self)

Need to do:
Engine oil change
Transmission oil change

Mods (not installed):
2002 Subaru Outback alloy wheels - 16x6.5": This will become a winter setup once I acquire winter tires!

One very grainy photo as a preview because it's past midnight.

Wow! Nice car! It's very clean in white but I prefer blue with gold wheels for any WRX. I never knew of this thread before. Might probably make a soundmod (NFSMW2005) for your car, which exhaust of the three, err, four do you use? Please, tell me!

Rally Master
10-11-2014, 04:22 PM
Well, I'm sure that previous comment was directed at my other car which is not featured on this thread (haha) but uh...I don't really need a soundmod for any of the exhausts that I've gone through since I no longer play NFS. Thanks for the offer though!

In any case, mods have occurred since once you start modding, you just don't stop modding even if this is the oldest Subaru you have driven. Of course, you could also argue that these aren't mods since they're mostly OEM. However, they are definitely upgrades!

For whatever reason, there is less fender gap on this car than there is on my WRX with 235 section Michelin Pilot Sport Plus tires:

I'm ready for the snow to fall!

Car looks nice!

Also, maybe the wheels fill out the arches so nicely because the Outback arches are wider?

Rally Master
10-13-2014, 06:41 AM
I was actually thinking that. On the later generation Outbacks, the arches are definitely wider so it could be the case with this generation, too. I wasn't trying to go for #hellaflush but I accomplished it lol

Also, this is post #8888

Nice looking car. I've considered trying to pick up an older subaru for a winter car, not sure how the GTI will handle in the snow!

Rally Master
10-15-2014, 11:41 PM
Thanks, fd. I'm sure with a set of winter tires, your GTI will get along just fine in the snow. Well, unless it's deep snow. Then we're both out of luck haha

I'm hoping to pick up a set of VW 17" rims from a jetta wrapped in blizzaks from a member of the VW community. I can't really justify spending tons of money on a winter set up with the wedding coming up in a month haha.
