here she is
1989 toyota corolla
bought her for 350 bucks over the summer, has about 113000 miles on it, and ive put 3000 miles on it since i got it.
its actually in really good shape for the price i got it at, and for the year that it is. It has some rust at the bottom of the car, but thats just from old age, and the fact that I live in RI, and cars rust quicker around here because of all the moisture from the bay and whatnot.
Ill have more pics soon, just wanted to get it up here.
its extremely dirty too from all the salt around, but w/e
also you can see my green van in the backround of the first pic, just thought id point that out

I love cheap cars. Thats all I do. People buy drugs, I buy cars.

Hmm... maybe me and some friends can find a truck at that price, pitch in, and do some reckless offroading in that.

Not a bad mileage for that old of a car. I'm struggling to find a 2002 Subaru with lower miles than that...which is pretty sad, really.

350 bucks for that? dude, that's a great deal! wonder how much my 84 camry would go for (it was bought new back in 84). Toyota Mafia! :P

toyota mafia! im so down, haha
but yeah, 350 bucks, best purchase of my life. The car was taken real good care of it by its previous 2 owners. so now, i pretty much drive it as crazy as i can. its not that quick, but its so small so its fun to take corners fast sometimes, and the car actually bottoms out a lot. but oh well, its a fun little car thats all i have to say

once the weather gets nice up here, im most likely going to end up taking the mud plays, or dirt gaurds, or whatever you want to call them, off because i have a little problem.
i like to take corners fast, but when i do, the only problem is that the mudflaps, or dirt gaurds, brush up against the pavement and like to make a loud grinding sound, quite annoying if ya ask me.

that car is front wheel drive, there for the e-brake=my friend
thats some mad fun stuff dude, i didnt really go drifting in that till that storm, got about 2-3 inches the it rained and it all froze over, so it was perfect for some sliding, and donuts.

Wow man that was a really great deal! Can't believe anything costing 350 bucks actually runs lol. But seriously, I may sound weird but I actually love those older Corollas especially when they've got their stock parts on. Props to you man, that car is a keeper! :D

i would man, but its not even worth is when the car only cost me 350, i dont want to spend more money on rims and tires then i did on the car. and im getting a new one over the summer anyways, and handing this down to my little brother who gets his license over the next year or so

Taurus? ah shit man those are ugly as hell. Maximas are cool though.

you cant even buy a beat up used PC for $350, cant believe you actually bought a car with less than 150K miles on it with that kinda money...where did you find it?

fd2black

got some new pics of the car, and sadly, they're the pics that im using to sell the car :\ but it needs a lot of body work i found out. the right rear wheel well is all rusted out and theres a lot of structual damage. so, were selling it.

Well, too bad... what car are you planning to get after the Corolla is sold?

I really don't know. I have no money currently to buy a car, and since im living at school, I don't have a need for a car.
The only problem is that I bought a $200 parking pass to park at my school, and now I have to try and get a refund on it, but supposidly I missed the cutoff date for refunds, which really pisses me off. So if I cant get a refund, then I'm probably just going to try and get a new car, that way I have one, and I'm not wasting 200 bucks.

Didn't he just say it?

well, that was in april.
my original plan was to get a taurus. but im more likely to go japanese becuase of the gas mileage.

japanese FTW. just joking :) you planning to get another toyota?

fd2black

so the car has officially been sold, the guy is coming to pick it up saturday :'(

and also on saturday, my dad is picking up a 1997 dodge stratus for 2600 or something, with 49,000 miles on it, driven by an old lady, and the car is in brand new condition. so, i dont know if the car is going to be mine, but at least i will have something to drive around when im home.

Killua

Let's hope you get the keys of that Stratus! And enjoy your 'yota, since these are the last days with it.

haha, that would be great if i still had them on.

so the car got taken away today, and we picked up the stratus. and let me just say, the stratus is in damn good condition, its a lot nicer then i thought it was going to be. its not my car so ill just post some pics in here when i get around to it.

wow it's been a while since I've seen this thread. Anyways, even though the car is gone, this is probably the best place to give everyone a little update on my car situation.
To this date I sadly do not own a car. But recently I found a Ford Focus ZX3 on craigslist that is only a half hour from my house.
The car is silver, 5-speed, and only 118k and they want under 3 grand.
The owners just got the timing belt, water pump, tires, alternator, and wheel bearings replaced.
The only thing about the car is that it has a small dent in the left rear quarter panel.
Hopefully, as soon as I am done with finals (monday) me and my pops can go look at the car and take it for a test drive, see if it is really worth it. Here are the pics the owner put on craigslist:

Nice man, and 5-speed!:D

You're lucky that engine is non-interference, otherwise a snapped timing belt could rape your engine.

Looks nice though, I'd say go for it.
