Favourite Engine sounds?

What shocked me on nfs:u2 was incredible engine noises - 240sx SOUNDED like a super-fat 240sx... Skylines screamed like 1000bhp straight-six monsters and the Golf sounded like a Turbo-Diesel, lol... After SO many games with sucky engine noises, U2 was a breath of fresh air... Has PS beaten it?

My Faves:

- L3+ Supra sounds like a million Tie fighters and a million X-wing lasers all at once
- V8's sound good - true to reality - A lot of them still have push-rods :\
- Porsches sound like tuned 6 cylinder flat sixes - which they are

etc... Have many other cars to try - that's one more point towards getting to trying the E92

I've always liked the sound of a powerful V8 (I actually had to roll down the window and just listen to the motor when I test drove the '07 Charger SRT8), and the sound of a high-performance I4. V6's are usually too balanced to be interesting really. Of course then there's the V12's (and V10's), very interesting but I always say sounds like a gutless tiny motor.

But I guess my favourite sound is the sound of the turbo-spooling.

I've actually been fortunate enough to have a Lamborghini Diablo drive by me in Calgary. I dont know if it's a V8 or a V12 (didnt bother to check) but that thing sounded powerful. I just dont like the high pitch 'scream' of say the Carrera, Murcielago, etc.

i'm lucky enough to have a guy down my street who owns two Lambourghini Diablo's. too bad he doesnt drive them much. they sound AWESOME at low revs.

I've heard the LP640's and it did sound like a superbike, just a lot louder and with a lot more trubass. A Viper GTS passed me by the other day, and its sound was the loudest sound I can remember hearing in my entire life. I couldn't hear anything from my left ear for a few hours.

Just like any other car enthusiast, I like the V8 roar more than anything else. My favorite is the sound of a V8 with flowmater catbacks. Just listen:

I've left the NFS series and gone to TDU.... Shame but worth it.

Am a little dissapointed with the TDU engine sounds... Not totally but a little:

Porshces (Rufs) don't quite do it for me and the Merc SLR DOESN't Sound like a million SPitfires (Like what Clarkson showed on TopGear... maybe they edited it, Idk)

Overall, I'm happier where I am but I MISS NFS:U2!

!edit! GTR: Give us a vid/sound of a modern CatBack V8 UNDER POWER! My Golf Gti sounds sucky when revving at a standstill but (So my mates tell me) can be heard for miles under load in 3rd/4th/5th. Is very much modified with my own custom In/Exh sys's, ported head, short box... I love it :)

I liked RSX/Civic's engine sound from NFS:Underground 2. Most Wanted's Lancer too was cool.

Its not my fault. Some are mentioning their favourite engine sounds from other games too. The author must have named the topic as 'Favourite engine sounds in Pro Street'. As far as Pro Street is concerned, I havent played it.

well as far as i go, the L4 Honda engines do it for me, also the Carrera GT and and the Murcie, high pitch is where it's at for me.
