Thought I should show my project car. Originally a 1984 1.8 GT, but I have converted it into a 2.2 GT/E Exklusiv with help from a couple of my friends. It has an LSD from a 2.0 GT/E, Transmission from a Rekord 2.0s and engine from a Rekord 2.2i. Some pics of it:

cool dude, it looks a bit like a porsche 959, only a bit more squarely (? don't know if you can say something like "squarely", but the dictionary says so, anyway, if this is wrong, plz correct me)

Thanks for the comments, guys. It's been a lot of work getting it together, and it's still not done. Had it for a spin last weekend and it is a FUN car to drive! My BMW 320i is boring compared to this baby, and that is a good car.

Some bad quality pics from last christmas:

I've always loved the Opel Manta truly a great car not many of them around now though sadly and yours looks quite tidy as well.

The best video I've seen on You Tube of the Opel Manta is one of Ari Vatanen on the Manx Rally, that cattle grid looks narrower the more I watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmhb4kHfAgc

They were mostly known as Vauxhall Cavaliers in UK, right?

Interesting car. Never heard if it before. Reminds me of a bastard child of Chevy Monza and Ford Tempo.

Nope they are known as Opel Mantas still in the UK, as I'm not entirely sure they were even officially imported into the country. I saw a white one the other day that looked like it was in really good condition spent a fair bit of coinage on it I suspect.

I know that they were also sold as Mantas in the UK, that's why I wrote "mostly".
Here's some pictures of the Cavalier for comparison:

I know someone who collects cavaliers and Vectras (why?) seems to have the performance/top end variants of each different version and uses a remaped Vectra VXR as his everyday car so I've seen every variant sadly.
