with gas prices going up, i made a choice to by a 60mpg scooter. this came in today. i called it "Faggio" because it resembles the scooter from GTA IV, called the faggio.

Love the name, as a habit I now refer to all scooters as "Faggios". :D

Wow, nice. What kind of actual mileage are you getting on it? 60 sounds low for a scooter... Though, this one looks pretty beefy compared to those 90-110mpg scooters... How many cc's?

I've been enjoying around 45-48mpg with my motorcycle...

mines the basic 125cc engine. the other ones cost thousands more and got even worse mpg. after running it to work and back the last two days, the actual mpg is about 68 :)

The Faggio must go.

$2 gas! HORAY!
Now that democrats will take over the congress and finally make some ground on solving our dependency, OPEC is lowering their prices to get the whole gas price conundrum off the minds of consumers.

i'm actually at a cross with prices. i honestly don't think they'll stay as low as they are for long. it's 1.89 where i live, so i can't decide. i can't just sell it when i just got it, but with prices as they are, it defeats the purpose of why i bought it. at least the mustang finally gets driven now.

Yeah true that, but with todays prices, I finally get to make fun of the gas-price-frenzy all I want. HAHA.

In a more serious note, keep it.

Sage, do you think faggio has actually cost you more money than you would've spent on fueling your cars? That would suck. :P

i dunno. my wife's Jetta is about 31 mpg, and my old Camry is pretty good as well. but my wife drives the Jetta to and from college (which is an hour drive) five days a week, and while my Camry may get good milage, my scooter get even better. i wish the same could be said for the mustang (14 mpg) and the Cougar (dear god... anywhere from 8 to 10 mpg). but i am considering a new car in the next few months.

Well you haven't saved enough money to justify the purchase of the Faggio yet, and neither the Camry. You would have saved a lot, but in long term.

Cost to Drive 25 Miles $3.91
Fuel to Drive 25 Miles 1.47 gal
Annual Fuel Cost* $2346

Based on 45% highway, 55% city driving, 15000 annual miles and a fuel price of $ 2.66 per gallon.

That's straight outta www.fueleconomy.com for the 1990 Mustang 5.0 with manual. Now let's say gas was $4 a gallon. That'd make the annual fuel cost about $4000. It'd take you about 15 more months to save enough money just to make up for the money you spent on Faggio alone. That'd be if you're planning on keeping it.
