been a long time since i last posted on this forum, that underground series killed my interest for need for speed for quite a while... anyway i got my drivers licence this february and got my grandmothers car: a '96 Lancia Ypsilon 1.4 LX, at the moment she just went over the 28.500 km or nearly 18.000 miles, so far the only thing i changed in it is the casetteplayer wich i replaced with a new kenwood radio unit. enough with the talk and on to the pics: ( ( (

overall i'm very happy with her, though she could use a new set of speakers, the ones that came with it stock sound a bit worn....

well, she's clean again, so here's some more pictures:
and the actual paper with nfscars/Mc Race on it:

now since the stock speakers did indeed look like this:
wich doesn't have any quality in it left i'd say, i ordered a new set of speakers yesterday. also found a good anti-rollbar for a decent price which i'll probably get by the end of the summer, after that a struttbar will hopefully follow

Nice little car. Got any plans for the engine? An air filter and a good exhaust wouldn't be bad at all. :)

they are indeed on my list but those will have to wait atleast a year untill i have time to earn more money, gas prices here are killing, 1,54€ per liter, converted to dollar that's 2.55$ per liter, so untill i can make more money i'm keeping the gasmileage as good as possible, i'm still in school you know :P my ultimate plan though would be taking an engine out of the '98 Delta HF (2.0 turbo, hell yeah) and put it in my little ypsilon, that engine can push the 1300kg delta to 220 km/h and a 0-100 (0-60 mp/h) of 7.1 sec's, imagine what that 186 hp would do in the 943kg Ypsilon

unfortunately, Isabella has been totalled last friday, someone decided to turn left in front of me coming from the opposite direction... here's what's left of Isabella:
as of today i'm the owner of once again, a Lancia Y. This time it's a red '98 1.2 16v Elefantino rosso; lighter, more powerfull and with a stiffer lowered suspension, this car is quite a bit faster and for an added bonus it's more efficient on fuel. here come the pictures (yes they're the cardealer pics, haven't had time to take my own and i'm leaving for vacation tomorrow so bear with it for now):
since it's red and Lancia has used Ferrari engines before, it's name will be Dino.

Haha cute car. :)

I just realised you were Dutch as well. From what part are you then?

Sorry to hear about your loss. I love your new one way more though!

small update, today Dino is finally getting it's paintjob overhauled making it truly red again, therefore fresh pics will soon follow. what's more, i'm thinking about putting a LANCIA MARTINI sunbeam at the top of the windshield, true to Lancia heritage

Looks like a lotta fun. Looking forward to the new paintjob.

it deffinitely is, and the great thing is i'm moving this august to Maastricht, near the ardennen, where the circuit of Spa Francorchamps is located, and a bit further; the Nürburgring. that should give you an idea of the lovely roads i'll be driving soon

07-26-2010, 03:09 PM
I always wanted a hatchback. Taking that car on the Nürburgring would be awesome :D

well slight bump here; Dino in his natural habitat:
in other news currently a strut bar is on its way to be placed under the bonnet :)

12-10-2010, 09:55 AM
Cool! Can't wait to see it in there :D

Mc Race
04-11-2011, 07:53 AM
well, it took some time for them Italians to deliver, but the strutbar has finally arrived:
if the nuts and bolts coöperate it should be put in place this saturday :). Also some light maintenance has been done a few weeks ago; fresh shock absorbers in the front wich already make a positive difference handling wise :)

04-11-2011, 08:23 AM
Hah, that took a while to arrive.

Nice car, red looks good on it.

Well, the strutbar has been placed, just in time for the spring cruise with the dutch Lancia club :D. I have to admit that while I did expect to notice a difference in handling, I didn't expect the handling to be affected by that much; Dino's glued to the road now, I love it. On to the pics:
the strutbar:
some clublancia's:

Yes, there were several Delta Integrales, some Evo's and some "regular" integrales. Actually I've been sparring with one of the regular Integrales all day, that was good fun.

some clublancia's:

If I would fap upon seeing awesome cars I'd be doing that now. :P

and another update, this time an action shot at the Lancia Club fall meeting:

Apparently the designers who did the Pagani Zonda also liked the Ypsilon, as the Cinque's dashdisplay shows:
for refence; here's Dino's display:
not much difference is there? (except for the factor 2 difference in speed indications ofcourse)

11-23-2011, 03:15 PM
nice ride sir

11-24-2011, 07:46 AM
Nice car! Seems to be in a pretty good condition! ;) Oh, and about the dash display, it's infact very interesting how the most of the inicators on the very right are in the same position... They really are similar.

When I saw the red Y in the pics I remembered a story of a rapper who was killed by the police here in his mother's car, which was exactly a red Y. It's impressive how the mind relates facts.

Now about the car, it's not quite my style but from what I see you've been taking good care of it. What else do you have in your plans for it?

Mc Race

Well here I am again

Nothing much has happened to Dino lately, currently I am just saving up for a full respray of the body since a couple of rough spots have appeared (nothing terrible yet, but for maintenance and for getting rid of those bits of faded paint).

What has been done with the car then is a different story.

Yesterday a friend of mine and me visited this years SpaItalia event, and ofcourse I couldn't let the chance of driving this wonderfull track myself just slip through my hands. a vid is to follow, but for now there's a shot coming out of Les Combes.
This experience was my first time ever on a racing track and it's safe to say that I'm addicted already (if only my budget was bigger). Also the feedback and grip I got from the car was beyond expectations. Ok so I wasn't going 100% at it but I won't do so untill I've got some more experience anyway. All in all this was a brilliant experience and what a track Spa is, the height differences were astounding!

anyway, here's the pic:
