Got a link to video recorded at the Leipzig Gaming Convention. Quality is not good but it gives us some idea about what we can expect. Check it out here (http://www.autogamingcentral.com/pc/615/need-for-speed-undercover-gc08-camera-footage/).

It feels just like TDU.

If only they'd add the dashboards, it'd be perfect.

Looks like fun, but resembles Burnout to me

As we already know, EA is trying to go back to their NFS roots by re-introducing the whole hot pursuit theme to the game

Im tired of hearing that

And why is that? I see that as good news as it was one of the features that made me fall in love with NFS.

Of course, I love the hot pursuit theme myself too, but just the phrase "getting backs to their roots" is getting old

I'm loving the over-exaggerated spark effects (N). Looks pretty cool nonetheless...

I think they forget that Road & Track Presents: The Need For Speed was much more about the cars themselves than cops...

TDU was much closer to TNFS. Didn't revolve around stupid cops. They were there for the challenge but were hardly the point of the game. NFSPU nailed it too.

Ah the good old NFS HP games. They were fun.

Anyway, does the driving look hard on the first vid, or does the guy drving just suck?

the quality isn't too good, but still thanks for the vid

"Be The Cop" should be back
this has always been a part of NFS in our hearts, and the reason why NFS has always been owning TD in the late 90s
As for the dashboard view? I really don't have any idea on this one, the only game that I find fun playing with the dashboard view was NFS PU...

R8CCXVeyron
08-30-2008, 08:18 AM
True.

There should be a dash view, because TDU has it. The trailer had speedometers as well.

I would like to see a dashboard view, but I don't think they would add it just because Test Drive Unlimited has it. City looks nice though...
I might just change my opinion if we see more.

R8CCXVeyron
08-30-2008, 09:39 AM
Yes the city does look nice, it has some city portions and neighborhoods like in LA. And not to mention highways.

Ľale
08-30-2008, 10:42 AM
Well I remember someone from the NFS team saying there will be a highway race mode...so I expected to see them.

R8CCXVeyron

I wonder how the highway battles would go. Could it be like the NFSU2 outrun kinda stuff?

08-31-2008, 10:23 AM
it has the same highyway style as HP2 but still another street racing what a shame the graphics are great looking.

R8CCXVeyron

I don't mind street racing, if I saw right there were barricades when you race.

I love the highways of HP2.

It really does look like Burnout. The driving doesnt seem hard, actually it looks easy, it just seems very fast paced, just like burnout.

R8CCXVeyron
09-01-2008, 07:17 AM
I don't like the way Burnout (1,2,3, Revenge, and Dominator) drives, because at a low speed you turn fast and it's kinda loose, you know.

I want the way NFS HP2 drives.

And yes it does look like Burnout Paradise.

Sinister
09-01-2008, 10:10 AM
Im sure there is some feeling of burnout in it, but it is all nfs.

Actually Undercover mode is confirmed as be the cop mode in this game meaning you get to chase the speeders later on. I'm assuming EA will post videos of that later on let's hope they keep the be the cop mode this time.

the quality isn't too good, but still thanks for the vid

One of my fellow Police Garage staff members discovered this video this is proof that EA has listened to us and decided to bring back playable police after all and I will get this game for the PC, and Wii when it comes out.

The be the cop mode is confirmed as Criminal Scramble Mode in the PS3 and PC versions only which means the return of be the cop other than the mulitplayer mode in Carbon and the PSP version of Most Wanted and a real be the cop mode since Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. I also discovered there will be yet another cop mode for the PSP version as well too called Chase Down Mode while in the Wii and PS2 versions will lack both Criminal Scramble and Chase Down Modes but however the Wii version will have a Party Play Mode which will include modes which allows you to be the police or a street racer simliar to how carbon had you play as the cops in multiplayer mode while the PS2 version will not have no be the cop modes at all simliar to Most Wanted and Carbon in single player modes.

they gave me high hopes, but now they disappointed me.

I want to know WHY EXACTLY they must leave the PS2 users out of the loop.

So people will buy PS3s. Why continually make updated products for an obsolete console?

they gave me high hopes, but now they disappointed me.

On the bright side the PC version will have Crimnial Scramble mode like the PS3 version and I plan to buy the PC version as well as the Wii version, and when I buy a PS3 and a PSP someday those versions as well too.

What of the Xbox 360 version?

Well I know that Crimnial Scramble mode will also be in the Nintendo DS version but I wouldn't be surpised if it also appears in the X-Box 360 version as well not too info is available for the X-Box 360 version.

Damn. Stinkin EA, makin' me switch my PS2 to a PS3. I'm not made of money, y'know.
Regardless, Undercover is shaping up to be a good game in my book. I still want more offical screenshots and videos though.

I don't even know why they still releasing NFS on PS2. Seriously it's a outdated system for thoose new games...

Anyways. Well, I just hope that EA doesn't screw it up as they did with ProStreet.

Sinister
09-12-2008, 09:34 PM
They didn't screw up, they just incorrectly placed the priorities on the game.. they tried going back to closed circuit racing, but too many people complained as they had a taste of freeroam and did not like being forced back to closed track.
