View Full Version : Ich bin ein sissy - 1993 Audi 100 CS
Linkin 10-11-2008, 09:06 PM I sold my little Civic Si this week and bought something better. Here's my new winter warrior. It's a 1993 Audi 100 CS Quattro. V6, automatic, 4wd, Bose stereo, power everything.
My plans are to just fix up the basic stuff. It needs a new thermostat and water pump which will be done soon. I mounted new winter tires this afternoon.

Sinister 10-11-2008, 09:12 PM Wow, simply, wow. Great upgrade Linkin.
Interior Shots?
Linkin 10-11-2008, 09:18 PM Thanks. I do have one interior shot, unfortunately it's blurry. You can still see the wood trim though.

Imprezzive 10-11-2008, 09:26 PM Very nice, Linkin! Certainly an upgrade over your previous winter warrior.
I remember my dad had one of these, very comfortable ride.
And I should remember it, I took my license in that thing lol.
fd2black 10-11-2008, 11:29 PM very nice pick up! ive always loved audis like that.
but i cant help but to notice the murcielago in the background, damn i love that car.
looks to be in great condition, and nice interior as well :)
TwinTurboGTR 10-11-2008, 11:46 PM Oooo, sexy Linkin. Nice!
Schaefft 10-12-2008, 05:45 AM Ich bin ein sissy
Hahaha, well if you say it...
Nice car, but why not sth american? :D
Jaguara_18 10-12-2008, 06:22 AM Quattro ist für sissies.
Another proof :D
The Audi looks excellent for a 15 years old model. The interior looks like a 1st class too.
errr.....the interior looks dirty:(. But i know you can clean it:), nice car!
Indigo 10-12-2008, 07:33 AM Nice car, man! Might be a bit older but it's still cool :)
RedTwentyFour 10-12-2008, 08:02 AM nice car, but what is a sissy?
DodgeBoy 10-12-2008, 08:05 AM Nice. How much did that thing run you?
Linkin 10-12-2008, 05:37 PM Thousand bucks. Even less than the Civic.
Killua 10-12-2008, 09:13 PM God damn, that is such a sweet ride. I have loved Audi 90/100s since I saw one of them when I was a little kid.
Congrats, I hope you don't sell this one.
monkey.wesley 10-12-2008, 10:51 PM Dang man! How do you find those amazing deals in Alberta?! haha
All the used cars in Winnipeg are all junk (crappy body and engine) or just riced Cavaliers and Sunfires. We used to have an Audi 90S which was decent, but it was a lemon. (Transmission was argh.)
Nice car though!
Thousand bucks. Even less than the Civic.
damn, thats a steal! if you don't mind me asking, how much did you sell the Civic for?
Jon 944S2 10-13-2008, 12:52 AM That's a nice car looks like it's in really good condition also a lot of car for not a lot of money a great buy.
Love the black 911 and Orange Murcielago in the background too.
that? for one grand? dayum dude...that's just...wow, just wow.
Congrats Linkin. It's genuinely beautiful. I've always loved Audis. Only reason I didn't buy one was that I couldn't maintain it, the parts are rather expensive.
Linkin 12-06-2009, 10:41 AM Hahaha, bump this thread up with an update. In the last two days we've been absolutely dumped with snow. There are cars stuck and abandoned on every corner, unable to handle the conditions. Stay off the roads? No! I've driven ~350km in the last two nights just ripping it up. This car is unbelievable, I'm outperforming trucks and SUV's everywhere. Some of the snow drifts I've been driving through are 2 feet deep and this thing just snarls and smashes right through without skipping a beat. The look on peoples faces as I come tearing up the glacier road to them to offer them help getting unstuck is priceless. Seriously Audi, amazing car. I love it.

However last night I was having perhaps a little too much fun on some particularily deep back roads. Snow was up to the headlights on some roads! However that wasn't the problem. We got to a long straight empty section of road covered in ice, so we do a couple of passes and I intentionally start fishtailing like mad, back and forth just tossing and saving it and having loads of fun. On the last pass down I had extra speed and tossed it way too hard, spinning 180 and slamming into the snowbank backwards. Oops.

Needless to say, I wasn't getting out of that one. Had to get pulled out by a Ford Explorer.
Sinister 12-06-2009, 10:51 AM Cool Story bro.
Yeah this 2 feet of dry unpacking snow with icy roads under sure make driving more fun/interesting.
At least someone was willing to pull you out. Some might have left you in there if they were watching you drive forcing you to wait up to the 3-4 hours for a towtruck.

Haha yeah, but we always drive with 2-5 vehicles in a pack. Driver brought the Explorer for that reason, stocked with shovels and tow ropes. ;)

Meastro444 12-06-2009, 02:06 PM Looks like you had fun ;)
Are you planning to mod this car?
Zpectre 12-06-2009, 03:34 PM Must be fun to drive in the snow... :D Audi's quattro system is excellent for general applications, probably the best.
Oh and keep mods to a minimum, this car looks very cool as it is now.
Primus 12-06-2009, 04:12 PM I think this is his winter beater. So, unless I'm mistaken, there's no mods plans for it.
But ya, it does look nice like this already.
Zpectre 12-06-2009, 05:50 PM That's ok. Though I wonder why he'd use the Audi 100 as a beater since it's his most luxurious car... :P Well, at least it's doing its job.
PortuguesePilot 12-06-2009, 06:43 PM german engineering.
Linkin 12-06-2009, 07:59 PM Yeah it's definitely my beater! I'm keeping it beater status. It's the best way to go for winter. Don't have to worry about hitting stuff, using a snow brush, scraping the ice off, sand, gravel, etc.
No mod plans at all.
Driv3r 12-07-2009, 01:02 AM OOOH! I SPIES THE EXPLODER!!! :P
Lol, epic weekend bro! I must say that Audi surprised me, easily kept up to the Explorer in some pretty deep snow. I'm glad I wasn't driving the Soarer...
Tubaman 12-11-2009, 10:13 AM HAHA Older Audi's are FTW in the Snow, Cool story:)
alikm 01-14-2010, 02:36 PM Thousand bucks. Even less than the Civic.
It's unbelievable! :) I own an Audi 100/45 1991 2.3, front wheel drive, manual (this description for you to compare), and it's price was something about $4 000 in July 2009, and it was cheap! Other such cars had price about $5...$8K.
