Since the Clifford won't deter you... i thought i'd get me a Big Black Ben (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/2137) for some extra piece of mind...

hmm, possibly i could sample that and get my proximity sensor sound changed, could be amusing.

yeah it'd golf central where i live....
lots of Audi's too, and people that can't park in XC90's

which would make me paranoid, but the car is low enough for the average SUV to miss the bodywork (i've had to go out and silence the alarm twice in the past couple of weeks because of people bumping into the car while parking :( fortunately it's annoying as ****... so people tend to leave half a space each side to avoid setting it off... while making me look like i can't park lol)

I take it you and I would be contesting for the loudest exhaust?

longtube headers, no cats and SLP Loudmouth catback (basically just a resonator on both 2.5" pipes)

1 3/4" primaries, 3" collector, 3" catless mids down to 2.5" catback. (true duals)

Once my cat is removed ill have a 3" Turbo Back freeflow (stock headers) probably doing about 110dB or so. Nothing extreme, but enough to lose my car over if the cops pull em over (id get it back after getting an original exhaust mounted)
But this aint the topic for our load exhausts

3" drainpipe, with a 4.5" exit

i wouldnt call it loud to be honest.... while it probably is for a skyline, i find that all the impreza boys around here have louder cars (just sad when they are driving a non-turbo sport.... all that noise and no performance).

OMG. That's exactly the same Skyline I'm seeing while en route to downtown Minehead in UK, where I work. EXACTLY the same. Also license plates are yellow and have char pattern of XXXX XXX which suggests UK. What's more - yellow information board in the upper left part of the pic from latest post has something in EN written on it. Nevertheless it's a very pretty ride.

No need to do that, just pump the throttle a bit :P that'll give you flames... or Bee*R it, though not so good on the tubro's if you're shooting flames constantly.... using it for launch control is allways fun.

There's a guy suplying replicas that bolt on to the standard mounting points, which i've been looking at, i still need to find out if its been moulded off an original garage saurus spoiler otherwise i can't see it mounting nicely, or being that effective.... just with the yen at the moment its about a 6th of the real price, and if i end up thinking the look sucks at least its not going to be a major waste of cash.

@ Texhnolith,
they are 17x9+15 all round :D (gotta get that low offset look!)
17s are big enough for me, that and TEs look stupid 18 and above, though i wouldnt mind some 18 mega dish BBS LM's... though they might be a bit too baller for my taste.

I guess i stoled the blue lug nuts too :P

More unsprung weight, and visually the spokes dont curve enough... i really dont like flat spokes that the 18"+ models have, unless they have a retardedly low offset.

even with 18x9.5+13, i dont think the spokes look as good as they do in smaller sizes... personal preference though, if i could i'd roll watanabe's and bolt on flares

If you do that, I am sure I can come up with a fairly cheap plane ticket over there and slap you, only to turn back around and drive to the airport and fly home.

Kracka, I think you can save you're money :P
I won't be doing that to my car any time soon... takes too much effort and money to rice the car for comedy value.

Updated the first post with some nicer/artistic kinda pics, and swapped the ones of the grill with some better ones from yesterday evening.

typical though.. the sun comes out the day after taking a few photos, except the car looks like its come of a rally stage after i thought it would be a good idea to take the "scenic" route into work this morning, gotta love narrow muddy country lanes lol...

That grill badge gives a nice look to the car. May I ask, what's that shield-shaped sticker above the GT badge on the side?

endo

It's a LCPD sticker :P

Got bored, and thought it would be comedy... like a low budget Scuderia sheild.

a few changes....
the thing that bugged me about the old grill, as that the mesh was too far forward, making the car look a bit shite... (or ricetastic... lol)

so thanks to neweraparts, i got myself something along the lines of the TBO grill :D which has the mesh recessed alot further back (and vertical, so it looks more agressive )

oh... and the car recently got an Apex'i Active Tail Silencer (http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_exhaust_detail.asp?id=217&pageNum=1)...
Long story short, the bolt on the Kakimoto exhaust baffle got sheared... probably over a speed bump.... anyways after some spirited country driving, and some WRC style backfiring on downshifts etc... well, the old baffle got shot out somwhere??

And since 100db or so gets really irritating when you're driving normally (unless you're 12 and think its cool to drive around a 2miles an hour waking everyone up..) i had to replace it....

oh, and it has the added benifit of increased back pressure at low rpm, which my straight straight exhaust system lacks.

I've got a Canon 450D
It's a great camera, actually one of my friends who does a lot of motorsport photography uses the 400, so even if it's middle of the road in terms of SLRs its good enough... really a camera is only as good as the lenses the use, and the person holding it.

Still got to find a decent place to take pictures other than the street, got to scope out some decent locations

I just can't get over on how sexy is your R32...

Lovely shots too, even with the low light they still look great.

A little comment though, I think that photos taken from other angles, such as these below would look awesome if you do them with your Skyline.

I would, if i planned to get to the car park (or a car park to take pics)... its usually a case of, i happen to have the camera with me, and i'm leaving the office and i think to myself.... "hmm, the car's not dirty for a change, mabye i could get some nice pics" :P

That and its way to small to get a decent shot from a distance, and/or there's too many other cars parked up at the same time. I have noticed the floor below seems to empty a lot earlier at night, so if i'm staying late and happen to have the camera i might try and get down there for some other shots.

already considered....
though i can get a nur cheaper else where,.... saying that i might still look into getting one, unless i can find another r32 with the engine already in there, its a common-ish swap anyways.. i've seen a few with nur spec engines in them, and even more with R34 engines.

but really, if you're truely baller you get one of these
Nismo RB26DETT Fine Spec (http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Nismo-RB26DETT-Fine-Spec-Engine-57460)

or have money to burn...
Tomei RB28SB (http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Tomei-Complete-RB28SB-Engine-Block-57481)

or if you're going to be stupid, be all the way stupid...
Tomei Genesis Phase 2 RB26DETT (http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Tomei-Genesis-Phase-2-RB26DETT-Complete-Engine-BNR32-BCNR33-BNR34-GT-R-55011)

though the last two arent really an option, increased displacement seems to be a hassle when its comes to insurance... and for 18k... you're better off getting a R33 with the engine already installed along with other goodies (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/690518.htm)

Yeah, in the photo - looks deceptive for me. The car looked smaller than your R32, and had that familiar looking front fascia, so I thought...

And speaking of stupid money... Holy Shat! That R33, that you linked in your last post, would probably go for 70+K cdn. Now if only there was a way for it to be 1994 R33 Chassis. Someone brought a R32 with a tomei RB (however, I cannot recall if it was a Derive or Genesis piece) to Toronto. Selling price was double that of a regular R32 GTR over here.

Mine's Stage II is not worthy for mention on the crazy engine swap option list?

@t3ku : yeah its a good place to shop, i've used them in the past, and they've got really good service and deilvery too.. thing i had everything in less than a week.

@3ni2nr : Its a nice car, i really don't like R33s, but its a lot of car for the money....and given the money i'd probably buy it for fun.

Lol, i could have kept going with the engines... a mine's is probably what i'd go for since they dont go for retardo power, more for overall balanced performance, although i'd really want the Top Secret VQ35 R32 :D now that's nice...

my pc has been in a box in the cupboard for the the past 8 months, dunno ive got no real urge to get the internet at home anymore, though not being able to ebay stuff is a pain in the ***.

---

anyways... time to change the topic from raping my car with anime decals :O

and back to ricing..

a couple of hours of trying to find hidden bolts, swearing, and lots of yanking, the interior was all over my friends drive...

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-048.jpg

then more swearing, drilling and work, and in went a Mine's half cage, took some doing to get it all in, with all the mounts hidden under the carpet/kick panels so its as discreet as possible.

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-050.jpg

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-051.jpg

while the seats were out.. a ET-S linear torque split controller (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.field-net.co.jp/lineup/ets/op.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dfield%2Blinear%2BETS%2Bjp%26hl%3Den) Field ET-S torque split controller went in too, basically this goes into the ATESSA 4WD system, and modulates the signal... so you can have anything from 0-100 to 50-50 torque split, and since it uses the g-sensor imputs you have settings for straights and cornering.... (all neatly wired from the rear to the driver)

4WD on the straights
RWD in corners :D

then really just some garnish to make the interior nicer... the shift/handbrake boots were replaced, and if you ignore my dirty floor mat its looking a lot nicer.

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-043.jpg

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-047.jpg

other things...
Got a Garage Defend GT Cooling panel installed, (ooh carbon)
messed around with the boost restrictor.... to give it about 1.1bar (any higher is a bit risky on the turbos, they're meant to be N1's but better safe than sorry...)
torque damper... reduces lost power due to engine vibration, and makes the gear stick feel less like a "Ann Summers special" lol

might have to look at an oil catch tank too...

and all of this ended up in..

a top speed of 487Mph!!!
http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-044.jpg

and 1367PS!!

cusco/safety 21 have cages for a Z32 http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm/Cusco-D1-Roll-Bar-4-Point-Roll-Cage-31196
or you could get one fabricated... which could save money depending on what you want.

Might be handy if to find out if there are any guys in your area that work on race cars, my friend who helped get the cage in used to race/build stock cars, and we were joking about ditching the half cage and him making a full race cage lol.

incidently.. unless you're getting harnesses i'd avoid a 6point, if you were to crash there's potential to do more damage to yourself by bouncing your head off the front bars... and ideally it wants to be welded in, so it stiffens the body...

t3ku

Atm I plan on 4 point, and will be getting a harness(seatbelts in Z are annoying). I can always have the cage added later.

Last person to work on my car that did racing broke my front bumper, will be staying clear of those people in the future >_>

found this other pic i took....

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-052.jpg

torque damper isnt in there, but i'll take a new one at some point once a few more pieces go in.

Should have a set of repainted timing/valve covers going in at some point, just need to get them sent off to powder coat.. the question is do i go red (like the 34), bronze to match the wheels, or some kind of blue, since i'm still undecided the black will do for now...

strut brace needs sand blasting, and a polish too.

also looking at an oil catch tank (think i said that already), new braided steel hoses, and possibly relocating the battery (and replacing with an Optima gel battery) so i can get the washer bottle moved to a position that doesnt sit right in front of the air filters....

and if only i could find some damn bonnet dampers, i could worry less about getting smacked in the head by the hood being blown in the wind, got the bootlid square in the back when i was messing with the ATESSA... and really that didnt feel so good.

anyways, cheers for the ideas, its going to be one color, still need to find a decent bronze, though i've seen a a pic of a guy that went silver, and kept all the engine components either black or silver/chrome (alot cleaner than some fnf looking clown car)

sunfire red/tangerine, with orange hoses could be pretty awesome... (for a few hours)

finally gave in, and hooked up some mad ICE yo!... and moved on from using 90s technology (ie minidisc)

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-054.jpg

got myself a Sony CDX-GT929U, not exactly fancy or JDM cool... but the main thing is it works :P, oh and works even better with a 320GB usb drive hooked up to it (and glued into the dash, stealthy eh?)... so no more itrip, or a glove box full of minidiscs lol. :D

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-055.jpg

did take 4hrs, to get through all the "home made" wiring of the old Kenwood though... and stupidly i forgot to remove one of my favourite MDs, on the plus side.. it does sound a lot better, i think alot of the power was being lost to my rear Alpine's because who ever wired in the speakers seemed to have hooked them up to the stock amp as well... which was distorting the music whenever the volume was above quiet...., and of course it's all now wired correctly on a standard ISO loom lol.

other fun bits...
got some tein bonnet dampers (which i'll need to make new brackets for since they are for the BNR33, nobody makes them for the BNR32)

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-053.jpg

a sheet of carbon fibre, to remake the bezels for the AC, dash gauges, and speedo clocks.

and... once i get all the build pics together, i've been working on building a dash pod for my ECUtalk consult display (diagnostic port) and Nismo Boost gauge :D (lots of messing around with rigid foam, perspex, and fibreglass.. all trimed in leather lol)

oh and @ t3ku: yeah i take my own pics... which is why they vary in quality lol.

updated the pics with some of the stuff... and a shonky close up of the prototype version of the carbon panel for the center console (the final version will be a lot cleaner, and cover both the AC controls, and Aux gauges... it was more of a test to get an idea of how things would look before i go carbon mad)

Texhnolith
05-06-2009, 04:57 AM
what kind of carbonsheet is it? real carbon? and stick on or really have to fiber the shit out of it?

Im planning to give my dash an upgrade myself (currently thinking a paint plan only) but i wouldnt mind a real carbon look :P
I've seen people do it with fake carbon like stickers. but i prefer it more real ;)

endo
05-06-2009, 06:29 AM
Yeah its real carbon, 1 or 2 ply i'm not sure, with a gelcoat top surface. about 2mm thick or so, you can get it with or without adhesive backing. (pretty much the same stuff the carbon cooling panels are made from)

they're a good place to start http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/ (they've got kits, sheets, rolls etc....)

Eitherway it should look decent once i've made the final version which is a single plate the covers both the aux gauges and a/c, looks bad since i did it by hand with a scalpel :P wasnt at home at the time to get my hands on the dremel.... sure i could have waited LOL, but i wanted to see how easy it was to get cut to shape.

anyways... seriously... i dont own a civic! would i really put fake carbon allover the interior....

might match my interior neons lol :P

plus, its not like you can ever hear the music over the wind/road noise anyways

version two gauge/ac facia..
still needs some sanding, and tweaks to the tight corners on the ac controls, but it isnt looking too bad bar the dust and odd bits of tidying up that needs to be done,
as tacky as it sounds i have some aluminium chrome bezels to go around the gauges, which a) could look nice and match the nismo gear knob... or b)look cheap and tacky, and thus get painted black (just need to fit them and make a decision)

version 3 facia... being anal i know, but i wasnt too pleased about a few cracks in the gelcoat that i got between the gauges because of flexing it to get round the corners. So i decided to try a different approach to getting smooth curves and getting everything neat looking...

end result is pretty good i think, and looks a little less unrefined than the previous version, now i need to move on to the instrument panel.

endo
05-14-2009, 04:29 AM
like Texhnolith said...

now that pointless argument is out of the way..

some pics of stuff...

Since i'm running N1 Turbos with steel internals, i can run alot more boost than i'm doing now, but... because i'd rather run on the safe side, they're only running at .6 bar (mainly because i've only got the stock boost gauge, so there's no way to monitor the pressure, and check i'm not overboosting.... which can be potentially very very bad, especially since stock turbos are pricey enough)

so i got myself a 60mm Nismo boost gauge (old school, but it does the job.. and i dont want any of that "smoked face / LED" crap in my car lol), and a greddy 60mm holder until i can finish making the top mount dash pod that i've been working on (for the boost gauge, and ecutalk lcd (http://www.ecutalk.com/consultlcd/green1.jpg))

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-063.jpg

the big gauge next to it, is... a rare as rocking horse poo Nismo stepping tach, 10k version of the 11k tach used in the Nissan R390, with warning lights/max rev recall (and i think you can run external shift lights off it too) managed to get it off a really sound guy from the club who never got round to using, who in turn got it off someone who never used it lol..

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-061.jpg

the plan for that, once i can get a new gauge cluster sourced is to swap that in place of the standard tach, which i'll make a new carbon surround for, so it all looks clean and tidy

http://www.gtapex.com/temp/cdash.jpg

and that's all i can think off...
there's other bits an pieces i'm doing... but nothing interesting, mostly re-wiring, and tidying stuff up. Need to get some new decals for my wheels since they seem to be coming off :(

@t2ku
sadly i didnt take the pic, so dont have a high res version of that pic :(

anyways....
i was going to post pics of the stuff being made

basically i managed to get a cheapy triple pod off the guys at jdmgarage, i have no idea what it's from.... nor did they, they had just pulled it out of a car (definately wasnt a 32, since i couldnt see anywhere it would go)

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-065.jpg

since i had rough measure ments of what i wanted, out came the masking tape to cut the bad boy up

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-066.jpg

http://www.gtapex.com/R32/TUNE/R32-TU-067.jpg

as it turns out.. yeah it was still too big for what i wanted due to the 2cm gap between the gauges and the top of the pod....

so i went out and got a massive block of rigid foam, to sculpt a mock up to test size the fitment in the car
some measuring, curve matching, and sanding later....

incidently these pics are of the 2nd mock up i made (first one died horribly..lol, the foam was meant to be resin proof... aparently not, so i had to remake the mock up, fun)

endo I've got a question... (might be also for Texhnolith, MCF, t3ku, azrael, GTR, well, whomever owns a fast car in the site)

Is this car your daily-driver? Because lately I've been taking a look at some mid-90 E36 M3s and it feels quite tempting to trade my VW Polo for one of those (believe me or not but a model 2009 Polo costs as much as those Bimmers over here). I'm asking because owning a high performance car comes with its disadvantages (gas price, etc.) and I'd like to know how you guys manage it. My Z averages 18/22mpg on 97 Octane. The twin turbo model with 300hp gets no less in mpg, not till hp excedes 400 that mpg starts to drop.
Can not say the same for other cars.

My Porsche is just summer-daily. However, with an M3 you should be chilling in the winter as well. Slap on some steelies and manage your shifts according to the weather and you should be good to go.

As far as replacement parts, EBAY is your best ****ing friend. Especially for older Deutschland shit. Don't get TOO crazy for tuning parts, stick to the maintenance for now, or until you find a ballin' job, and you should be good.

We don't get snow here. :D But we do have roads with big craters. Suspension will certainly be a problem if it's not taken care of. :\

I was considering an M5 (E34 of course) too but I'm afraid it's a little too big for what I wanted. They're also harder to find, though they're within the same price range.

In the case I get one I probably won't do any extreme tuning like turbo, etc. because I believe those old M cars should be kept immaculate. A Bimmer is in my wishlist but first I want to find a new place for me and finish college.

Cant afford a ride next to this one on minimum wage :P
home-work-home traffic i get refunded by work luckily.

Once i get my own place its gonna be hard to maintain the car as well as make it faster/nicer.
Especialy since the car need 97+ octane. I always get 98 here in holland. quite expensive but hell, its worth it.

I tuned my ride up to nearly 150% of its original power :) got to see what milage i get now.
I used to get 9.5km out of 1 liter. So quite resonable. This is however a lot of highway driving and little city driving.
If i only did city i'd get like 7km out of a liter.

I'm asking because owning a high performance car comes with its disadvantages (gas price, etc.) and I'd like to know how you guys manage it. I'm still undergraduate but I have some cash to maintain and upgrade a car like this if needed. Besides I think all of your cars are very cool! I really like those souped up cars from the nineties.

By no means is my Nova a Daily Driver, but thanks for asking.
Reasons for not driving it daily is fairly simple. I put 98 octane in it, but it really should be using something alil higher. The valves are still a tad noisey even with 98. Add that to a 12 gallon fuel cell in a car that gets roughly a tad over 7 miles to the gallon, the cost in gas adds up quickly.
The rest of the car is actually very dependable. because of strong materials used in the inner componants in the engine, the bullet-proof transmission, and the rock solid rear end, I can drive it anytime I want.
Thing is, the drivetrain and suspension isnt biult for the highway. A low reving 454, 3-speed close ratio TH400, and the rear gears... They were 4:11s, but just recently installed a set of used 3:73s. Made the car accelerate a tad slower, but made the car alil more reasonable to drive on the roads. Anyway, add all that with wide rear tires, and super soft rear shocks, it wont hang a turn at any speed above the speed limit. The rear tires also give you hell in any weather other than sunny and dry.

As far as how I manage to replace parts when needed? Easy. Back in the 70's GM's X-Bodies we're all interchangable, and mass produced. It was the equivalent to a Cavalier.
As far as replacing engine parts? again, easy. Parts come cheap, and alot of local auto parts stores carry the parts you need at prices thats almost considered a steal. One of the best advantages to owning an old car is junk yards. You'd be surprised what all you can find in good condition in a junk yard.

But it's not smart to drive a highly tuned car as a daily driver though.

And like OptikNERV said. Spend you money on maintaining your car first. then worry about your performance parts.
Doesnt matter how cool your car looks when you cant drive it.

Wow that's very cool to know, MCF! I hear that brake discs in particular can be found easy in junkyards, most are intact because in crashes they rarely get damaged. I was also talking to a cab driver once who told me a guy went to a junkyard and bought an electronic part for his MkV Jetta for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

When I got my current car I wanted to get something older but a level above, however the people I have around me (mostly family) kept scaring me off telling me there are a lot of people in the used car market who are not to be trusted and more often than not I'd get a rough deal. Personally I think with enough care when looking for a car the benefits of buying used outweigh the disadvantages, but I ended up buying the Polo which is a great car but still too expensive for what you get, not to mention it has a puny engine which is just enough for our roads. I'd like a car with more soul than an entry-level Volkswagen. I kinda feel like a poser when driving around in a 100 bhp hatch with "18 rims and a chromed grille.

The used car market is one of the things I really like about the US. The market is simply so huge and varied.

endo I've got a question...

I'm still undergraduate but I have some cash to maintain and upgrade a car like this if needed. Besides I think all of your cars are very cool! I really like those souped up cars from the nineties.

I like the bold part. ;)

It really depends on your situation. Most importantly, where you live. I would have wished I owned this car in Iran. Super cheap gas, low cost maintenance. I'd get ****ed up getting the parts for it though...but hey, nothing is impossible in Iran. People were doing the most impossible engine swaps left and right. And speed limit was a joke.

But afterall, the car is in its natural exhibit. I still have relatively low insurance rates, the gas isn't too expensive, and parts/mods are relatively cheap and are pretty available. The roads are suitable for it too.

Just make sure you take a few things into account: gas mileage, ride comfort, reliability and availability of parts and mods. Don't buy a car with major mechanical problems (mine are driving me nuts), unless you're willing to solve those problems right away. Don't assume you can live with them. And don't spend all your savings on the car, keep at least 25 percent of it in case something goes wrong.

Yes, it is my daily driver. Not very easy to live with, but I was expecting that...somewhat. So get ready.

@ Internet3/TriniGT.. cheers, yeah fabricating stuff i can fabricate, only because off the shelf doesnt work for what i want :P though really only on a small scale since i dont have a garage, so i'm kind of restricted in what i can do.

@Zpectre, well the GT-R is a daily driver (kind of a sin :P most skylines only come out in the sun) but since i dont have a garage, i'd not be that comfortable about leaving my car on the street for long periods of time (even if it is alarmed to the hilt)

The reality of living with it... well i have a box that plugs into the diagnostic port, that gives me the actual figures of what i'm doing.
- on a mix run into work (evenly split highway and town driving) i get around 18MPG, around 5l of fuel for a 18mile journey
- on a long trip at fairly constant speed i've managed to get down to 27MPG, and can probably get 350miles out of a tank before i need to get gas.
- on an afternoon of "spirited" driving down country roads... erm... i think it was saying about 1L per mile at one point

-insurance is of course stupid money (being a import from japan/rarity/tuning/power etc...i found for me a brand new lambo is cheaper to insure)
-petrol is stupid money, since i only run Vpower (99 RON)
-clutch is heavy (try sitting in rush hout traffic, it's torture)
-suspension isnt fun on the moon surface of most roads (and painful on some country roads)
-car is too wide for carparks, traffic calming measures.. and well small roads
-car is almost too low for speed bumps/some road surfaces (almost tanned in the exhaust when the left hand side went into a shallow dip and the exhaust got caught in a pot hole because the car had dropped)
-oh, and peoples lack of respect becasuse to them it's a 20 y/o nissan, owned by some ricer (folk knocking it, bumping into, and generally scrapping it while parking)

but these problems all go away, once you find yourself on an empty road, with plenty of long straights and winding corners, then your realise why you go throiugh all the pain lol.

the reality of a skyline is.... 99% of the time, all you're doing is running a 2.6L boat off boost, waiting for the breif moment when it's safe to give it some shoe... and watch every single dial hit the maximum a second later and leave a big brown stain on the drivers seat.....

... and then get pulled by the cops :P

in terms of parts..
fortunately for almost any car, there are scrapyards/breakers that you can get parts from cheaper than anywhere else (ie, about 50 for a pair of headlights scap, or 1000 new :P, honestly gaybay is a rip off alot of the time for parts), in fact i've seen a pretty mint Bride seat for 120 at one scrappy, then there's owners clubs where there's allways people willing to swap, or change stuff they've got.. plus they've always got handy advice. If you're handy its better since alot of probelms you can rectify for a fraction of what a garage would charge.

obviously the cost of running the car, is the most important factor especially when you've not got much cash... but after that it's just sacrificing comfort/practicality to own something you really like, and being prepared to accept as much as you look after youre car.... it's just another target for an SUV to run over.

Thats the biggest problem I have. Alot of people will actually go out of their way to mess with our cars, mostly out of jealousy.
I've got a small chip in the paint right above the driver side quarterpanel right above the rear tire, a small scuff on the driver side of the rear chrome bumper, and my front bumper is pushed in about a half inch on the passenger side, all due by disrespectful idiots.
I was pumping gas in it a few years ago, and this big truck drives by all slow, and the guy hanging out the window shrugging his shoulders screaming "Whatever!"
Idiots always reving thier engine as they drive by me.
I never act like hot shit when I have the car out. Just hanging out, cruizing around. What is it about me that screams that Im trying to impress everyone, or wanting to give everyone a challenge?

I dont know why people let thier egos be so bruized so easily. It's scaryto even bring out the car for a day, because someone will hate that "some young punk" is driving "his daddy's hotrod."
they never believe it's mine.

These people are not car lovers... For them a car is just an extension of their flawed ego.

Whenever I see a rare and/or powerful car I usually let it by, out of respect for the machine itself. I do rev up when I'm side-to-side with posermobiles in their 1,0 litre noisy no-cats hatchbacks though, but only if they're first. :)

Worse when you still have the original factory paint... And don't forget the door dings... And the idiots who are still at a complete stop at the traffic lights - that went from red to green a few moments ago - right in front of you... The idiot behind you - in his cayman - flashing his lights three times on the exit ramp to say "Let's go..."... During all that time, driving properly and within the limits.

A majority of Toronto steering wheel holders (I refuse to insult the word - Driver) annoy me, if I stop to think about it.

I feel your pain...
My front bumper is scuffed to hell..
I know for certain, the two cracks round the front grill where the bumper has been pushed up, and the number plate shoved in an inch is from people in my street reversing into my car, most likely one of the XC90s that has a tow hook, or a range rover, partly i can understand why one might hit the car, since the front end is quite low, but at the same time to crack the front bumper is clearly a case of no clutch control and feeling if the car had touched the ricer behind.

then of course... there's the front wing, where someone has tried to park/pull out to close and scraped up the paint between the wing/and the bumper (mmm nice..)

then we have the case where i caugh some funny ****ers trying to squeeze their golf into a space way to small behind me... and i found them pushing my car slowly from behind using their car as a ram!!

two weeks a go someone managed to gouge the front wing, initially i was think some clever person had keyed... but looking at it, its more like some fat idiot couldnt get to their car and ran one of the studs on a pair of jeans along the wing.... fun

and it goes on... and on :(

one day it'll need a respray (when i have a garage again), which is no biggy since i want a nice clean looking car, the bad part is getting the paint to match, since i want to keep the color... not that many R32 GT-Rs came out of the factory in dark blue.

It's also a limited production run to homologate the car for racing in the Le Mans series. The only real one, as I understand it, sits in a museum. There is also the GTR-LM V-Spec ltd. ed. - Supposedly a production run of 200 cars with all of them painted in Champion blue.

then again.. personally i think the R33 is a bit of an ugly car, it looks like a r32 that was once prom queen and ended up eating too much, having too many kids and just let herself go LOL.

R34's are ugly, but at least in a good way lol.

i have a feeling of the 400R kitted 33 has gone on to skyline heaven
:( pity since it was a really nice car, and the 400R is the best looking of the 33's imho...

on the topic of Rare skyline's....
