This is Heather, my new to me 2002 Exploder Sport. I Picked her up for a low $5,000 CDN just the other day. She's near fully loaded (minus Leather and a sunroof), has new Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour Tires ($1500 for the set!), a factory 6 pack in dash CD Changer and Subwoofer, Keyless entry, Power everything etc...
As you may be able to see, she does need some cosmetic work and a few other small things, but overall I'm very happy with her. A few things I will be doing soon:
- Clean the Interior and begin to repaint trim pieces
- New Bumper, along with paint (hood, side moulding, rear quarter)
- New Front signal lights
- Some sort of iPod Integration
- New 6x9 Rear speakers
- Install my 12" subwoofer
- HID Fogs
Anyways, a few pics for now - better ones to come after I've really cleaned her up.

Yes, those are my Parent's Explorer's as well. My dad drive's the Blue 1998 XLT (has the 5.0L V8 with the "GT40" head's) and my mom drives the Green 2002 4 Door XLS. Both have been super reliable for us, so I figured I might as well stick with the tried, tested and true.
Congrats on the new ride, I always liked Explorers.
Shake 11-30-2008, 05:57 PM You have a fleet of exploders :O
mmmmm Exploder Sport. :P
Are those clear front indicators on there? They don't look too bad, IMO.
Driv3r 12-03-2008, 01:53 PM Yes, they are clear corners. Got a few new thing's for her over the weekend:
- New Clarion 5x7 Speakers
- Monster iPod FM transmitter
- New factory Pioneer 6 Pack In-dash CD Changer (old one has a CD stuck in it)
- New Front bumper
Also had our first real snowfall of the year yesterday. The Wranglers handled it very well, hardly ever slipping out unless I was too hard on the throtle. That said, it is also very easy to leave it in 2wd and have some fun drifting around parking lots... :)
Also, 2 new shots from yesterday morning. Went to clean the interior and give it a quick wash/ wax. Got to the car wash it was nice and dry, left and it started snowing. Doh-h!

aggreed.:)
Driv3r 01-03-2009, 09:57 AM Thanks guys, but I got some bad news.
I spun on on the whitemud yesterday afternoon, after hitting a patch of black ice. I tried to save it but wound up t-boning a lady in her truck while she was speeding up. After I had bounced off their door, I spun the other way and got hit by their trailer on my rear quarter. That caused me to spin 180 degrees, and slide across 3 lanes of traffic.
Damage isn't too bad for me, I'll throw some pictures up when I get back from the mountains. Or maybe I'll get linkin to post the blackberry ones I sent him.
hondaman 01-03-2009, 11:06 AM Wow, that sucks. Hope you can get it fixed soon.

Canada_Kid 01-03-2009, 12:12 PM That really sucks. Black ice is brutal; it nearly killed my cousin.

Zpectre 01-03-2009, 07:38 PM That's not too bad, you should've seen what happened to my car... Luckily only cosmetic damage for the most part, even though it was a hard blow.
Imprezzive 01-03-2009, 07:59 PM Hm, doesn't look like its more than cosmetic damage.
Still, what a great way to wreck the new bumper.
EVO9MR 01-03-2009, 09:11 PM sorry to hear about it. Stupid ice! next time ill see it, (which i probably never will in sac town) ill punch it in the face. ;) Anyway is the 4.0 an SOHC? If it is you have the same engine as my mom's 99' explorer eddie bauer. Their nice cars but we need a new battery. Bad
EDIT: I know this sounds kinda stupid but if we want to change the battery on our own do we have to do something so we won't screw up the car's ecu and stuff
Driv3r 01-03-2009, 11:17 PM Yeah, thankfully it is all cosmetic, but this is the last thing I need. I have a short in the electrical system somewhere which causes my 4x4 not to work. Plus I haven't payed it off yet. It also needs a tune up, as it is getting terrible fuel mileage.
And yes it is the 4.slow SOHC in there. I have heard of 4x4 control moduales failing due to the battery being removed, so I would check that.
I am considering fixing it and then trading it in for a AWD Explorer or a AWD Fusion. I'm sick of having trucks that in which the 4x4 fails on me.
Driv3r 01-06-2009, 08:51 PM Got my 4x4 fixed today. Turned out to be a pinched wire from when I put the new deck in, Doh-h! But the shop I took it to screwed up my CD Changer, so I gotta go back before work tomorow to have them fix or replace it. Repairs for the damage from the accident shouldn't cost too much as my cousin's husband may be able to get me a new front bumper for free. And my dad works at Maaco so I get free paint and bodywork through him.
Anyway's washed her up, and snapped a few pics.

Driv3r 02-26-2009, 01:38 AM Still haven't got around to fixing her, but I'm gonna get on that because I will probably be trading it for a brand new car soon. Had some fun today with snowpiles and drifting. Sorry for the bad quality, they were shot on my Blackberry.

It seems you had a lot of fun.
Driv3r 05-31-2009, 09:24 PM Just a few shots cause I haven't posted here for a while. Took these over the course of the past few days. Trucks for sale so I can buy a more fuel efficient car for getting to and from work. Plus I hate not being able to keep up with my friends when we go for almost daily cruise's lol. Enjoy!
