Well guys its been good, my 99 Sable has been starting to show her age sadly so it was time to get something newer.
She had 139,930 miles when I traded her into Owen Lincoln Mercury. They gave me 700 bucks for her.

And this is my new ride... same engine, but now more badass.

I must say that I have always enjoyed these cars... These were one of my choices when I was car shoping back when I bought my Subaru.... Thinking now, I wish I would have bought an LS instead.

Nice car.

I love the Lincoln LS. I wanted my mom to get one a while back, but it didn't work out. Hope you have a good time with it. Tell us how it drives too.

thanks for the comments so far

This car drives amazing. It handles great but it also has a smooth ride. Going over bumps and such don't feel harsh like in my Sable and when I take turns this car does not lean into them like the Sable. Also this car turns on a dime in a parking lot. Makes it sooo much easier to park

Same chassis as a Jaguar S-Type and XF. Cool.

That's a cool car. I remember I saw a black one a lot of time ago, and it had a lot of prescence (Well, that's what happens when you're used to small cars I think). The RWD layout gives extra points too.

Nice car. Good choice on opting for the V6, the V8 had a lot of issues. None on the V6 that I am aware of.

Thanks, well like I said I knew the Duratec V-6 from my Sable, its a good engine, where I don't really know the 3.9 at all other than its a Jag engine.

I also found out I have another feature I didn't know about, rain sensing wipers :D

That's cool. I know some high end cars have it but that was like the last thing i would expect from.

Reminds me of the NFSHP2 traffic car. But that's seriously a sick ride. In the future, are you going sleeper or low-rider? haha (stock is just fine too. :P)

UPDATE!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-XXSi-wtBY

Sorry for the lack of updates got super busy with a new job...

Anyway Just added a SST to this car, you may know it as tiptronic...

Also Added an MP3 input jack just like the new cars and mounted it in the center console
And also got HID's for it... 6000k and 55 watts for an OEM look.

Here are some pics of the engine

Dude, it's the same platform as Jaguar XF. Cool.

Is this a direct competitor to hondaman's Buick Lucerne?

Schaefft

The Lucerne is too new, Id say the MKS is its Ford rival.

Andrew L
08-02-2010, 04:40 PM
The Lucerne is too new, Id say the MKS is its Ford rival.

Id say its the new Taurus.

the MKS is a bit nicer due to the fact that you get real wood, Scottish leather, 600 watt THX sound system, power rear sun shade, heated rear seats etc etc...

This car when it came out was direct competition for the BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS, and Audi A6. At the time it out handled the BMW as well.

Someone on the LS forums told me that my car has real wood trim... I guess that was something they changed in 03. Pretty cool I will have to check it out always thought it was fake :D

Well everything has been put on hold....

I had to spend the night at the hospital last night for a sleep study, turns out I have a sleep apnea. So as I am leaving this morning at 6 AM I stop to get gas and pull into the Dunkin Donuts across the street. I am waiting in line and I hear these guys talking behind me saying oh that sucks! I listen some more and they are like yea that white one. So I quickly look out side and see a Maroon Silverado near my car. I look at them and say did they hit that car? they reply yea man is that yours? I go running out there the driver sees me and takes off as fast as he can.. I didn't get a license plate number either!

Here is the result

Turns out he was all over the parking lot, backed into a pole then drove right into my car... OF ALL THE CARS TO HIT....

There are security cameras out front and of course the manager is not in today so the police will have to come back... all I can hope for is that they catch his license plate number and nab this *** hole! Even though they will probably do nothing about it.

It happened in South Kingstown... at the Dunkin Donuts at the 4 way intersection... Mobil on one side, DD on one side, that wooden tower on the other side to go to Narragansett... 99-02 style... :|

Pretty gnarly looking bump there. Such a shame on such a nice car. I've had plenty of careless people in parking lots smash into me before. Wish there was something I could do (without going to jail anyway).

State Farm guy called, said he would be by on Friday, hopefully after he looks at it we can send it off to Tasca that afternoon before they close.

Then I won't have to look at it and get depressed...

I am probably going to stop in tomorrow though at the dunkin and see if the manager is in and see if he can see a license plate

I went and checked the videos and all the camera got was my car, you cant see the truck, but you can see my car getting hit and sliding forward a bit... if only the camera was up a little more....

Sent the car to Tasca Friday, State Farm gave an estimate of 3800 for the damage... it will most likely cost more if they find any under body damage.

I will be sure to post pictures as soon as I get it back... hopefully it will not take too long :\

Light output on the sides is a bit less than the old fog lights but it still has great light output overall

Exactly. I hated the black plastic I think this flows with the chrome strips and chrome wheels much better :D

Your car is very classy. This was meant to be exported to Europe; I believe it didn't.

Wow, seems like that car has some pretty good pickup. As for the pictures, great! Where are those locations? I really like the first set, I feel like I know where that is but I cant put a finger on it. Definitely seems like you know where all the good locations are in RI. I haven't had any time to do any photography, school is basically killing me right now.

I can probably get it even quicker if I wasn't holding the camera. The first 2 were behind Main Street in East Greenwich. The 2nd set were in Potowomut. The one by the ocean was in North Kingstown past Quidnessett Country Club, and of course the last picture (sunset) was in North Kingstown past where the Audis and VW's get shipped to. If you ever get some time we definitely need to get a shot of the Grand Marquis and LS together ;)

Thank you! Actually they did export a few LSes to Europe but in very small numbers. They also exported them to Japan and were a bit more popular there than Europe. Here is a Japanese spec LS

You may notice they have the directional on the fenders, and the rear tail lights are 2 toned, the first gen LS were just all red then they updated the tail lights in 2003 to smaller 2 toned ones. The 2 toned tail lights on the first gen are super rare and go for big bucks. Also those rims are different, we never had the option for those rims here in the US.

Nice pics man. I also never knew you had a Sable. My mom used to have one of those and it was a great car. Brings back memories. Ahhh.. good times.

Definitely some great locations. And I am definitely down for a photoshoot sometime. Maybe we could do a winter shoot, seeing how this semester is killing me and my free time = 0

This car is straight up pimpin. I know you're prolly too ***** to do this, but if this was my car, I'd get it some sick rims.

I don't mind the rims that are on it now... I would really like to stay with stock rims though, I never really like aftermarket rims unless they have a removable cetnercap where you can add the logo of the car on them. I also just got brand new Michelin Pilot Sports on the car so I am not going to be getting new rims anytime soon, but if I do I really want the 5 spokes that were offered for only one year on the 06's
