should start out by saying that the Taurus i posted here some time ago is no longer in my possession. i sold it for about $700 and shortly afterwards me and my gramps got this car. i co-signed on the car and i help pay for the insurance. my name is also on the registration and title.

i love this car. she is loaded with a 3.3l 240hp V6, XM radio, 6 disc in dash cd changer with MP3 and WMA compatible playback, 5 speed automatic transmission with shiftronic manual shift, 6.1 infinity sound system, and to top it off 1 10 year old Whelen Responder II series blue mini lightbar.

What makes it limited?

Sasuke23
10-22-2010, 09:47 AM
6 disc cd changer, xm radio, dual front heated seats, leather interior, 12 way power drivers seat, carbon fiber trim kit, auto day/night mirror with homelink and compass. not sure what you mean by your question, but with hyundai the Limited model is usually the ones that have everything. this one does have everything except Navi.

I like it. It may be looks boring but overall recent gens of Sonata are great mid size sedans.

Looks very comfortable too :D

it just does. it has the limited emblem. im not sure why they call it a limited. i think it has something to do with the amount of options it has

Nice car, but I must ask, why do you have blue mini lightbar? Is that legal for you to have on there?

To be frank enough, this is the only model from Hyundia which I like.

i have the blue light because im a volunteer fire fighter. its only illegal to use if you dont have a permit and dont belong to any emergency branch.

same, but i wish i had the new Genesis Sedan. that has an optional 4.6l 400hp v8 with a price tag of over $40k

I think its limited cuz it has a Tiburon engine.

Sasuke23
10-22-2010, 09:37 PM
i dont know about that. by that i really have no idea.

3ni_2nr
10-22-2010, 09:46 PM
Actually, the Tiburon had a 2.7L 176 HP V6. So there you go, that's why yours is 'limited'.

Sasuke23
10-22-2010, 09:49 PM
i guess.. but my car doesnt have that engine.

anywho..... regardless of what it is its still an awesome car in my opinion. the only thing i would trade it for would be a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with cummins turbo diesel. yum.....

I mean yours has a bigger one than that...

I must say that Responder looks good on the Sonata. You totally should get a siren to go along with it. Whelen SA315 perhaps? If you were to buy new, that is.

ugh, seriously guys, you disappoint me badly, a simple google search would show that the "limited" is just one of the trim levels of the sonata, ranging from SE, SE V6, GLS, limited and limited v6.

Ah, that makes more sense.

if it was legal in New York state then yes i would. only fire chiefs are allowed sirens on their personal vehicles accompanied with red, white and/or blue lights. they are also allowed wig-wag headlights which again are illegal in this state to have on your personal vehicles unless your a fire chief. otherwise, they must be on police vehicles, ambulances and firetrucks. although they're not commonly seen on firetrucks.

anywho, i replaced the responder with a Wolo Aurora(pictures to come soon) 26" half bar, also in blue. its quite a bit bigger than the responder but its also quieter. im experimenting on where to place it. being that its bigger it makes the car look a little goofy. but it does what its supposed to do so i shouldnt complain too much. whats cool about this light is i can switch it from magnet mount to permanent mount anytime i want. im gonna permanently mount it to my truck when i get it from my dad.

Good car, but I don't get why did you put that fake wood cover for steering wheel? Originaly it has got leather steering wheel, so this is not necessary, plus it looks ugly.

Sasuke23
10-26-2010, 05:48 PM
it was necessary because i wanted it. it actually gives me a better grip on the wheel along with the fact that i love the look of wood trim. a lot of people think its ugly. i say thats their problem. i plan on getting the current trim in the car replaced with the wood trim kit because i dont like the carbon fiber one. the car came with the trim so i had no choice in it.

hey i just had a thought. perhaps my car could be a mod for say NFS HP2? would be interesting... but that would mean making it a police car.

meh... just thinking out loud

trust me if i had the money i would. thats what my gramps wants me to do anyways but i just dont have that kind of money. plus new york state law says i must have a full 360 degrees of light radius when it comes to emergency lights and 98% of the guys at the station have roof lights coupled with some LEDs or headlight strobes.

well, my car got into a little accident the other day. out here we have a lot of deer and i nearly hit one. i missed it, but i couldnt avoid hitting the snow bank on the other side. these pics are of the damage that was done, however minor.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj313/Admiral-Nayru4/PICT0007.jpg

as you can noticeably see, the driver side front wheel is straight while the passenger front is not. cosmetic damage was light. you can see in the top pic that there is a dent between where the bumper and body meet. undercarriage damage consists of a broken tie rod and a bent sway bar.

i got the car back a few days ago, after paying a $1500 repair bill. if you count the rental car thats $2100 for almost 2 weeks. didnt want to give back the rental. was a 2011 Sonata GLS and it was an awesome car. but sometimes you cant always get what you want... but all in all im happy to have my car back.
