Since WORLD became pretty fun, I have a dilemma.

I have 35k and an Eclipse.

Do I:

Wait till I rack up 60k and buy a Charger or R32 (another big dilemma, right?) - when will Tier 2 events be available? Any advice on SRT8 vs R32? There's no way to test the mo****ers.
or
Buy a gorgeous Scirocco now?

Do I (…) wait till I rack up 60k and buy a Charger?

For a bottle of warm sake, whatever you do, do NOT invest into a muscle car! Unless all you care about is pursuits, that is.

As much as I love my 1971 Challenger (which I’m now keeping for sentimental & private muscle competition purposes only because my RX-7, though certainly lighter, is pretty effective during pursuits anyway, especially since I have become only occasionally “bustable”), it’s – for want of a better expression – a piece of shit. It’s not that the handling, even with the level 1 upgrade, is particularly bad. You simply have to slow down while conquering the Rosewood hospital switchbacks, for instance, which a Silvia (or most other Japanese models including my Corolla with, uhm, a level 2 upgrade, I think) will take flat out.

Maybe adept use of the separate performance parts which are now available can transform the otherwise useless muscle cars into something marginally more competitive but, based on my experience, I would strongly suggest a Silvia. Because, even in my RX-7 with a level 1 upgrade pack, I tend to get owned by them on more technical tracks s/a University Way, due to their excellent acceleration and superior handling. Even though the driver won’t use any power-ups and I (quite pathetically) will!

If you have no qualms about resorting to a couple of N2O shots or the slingshot power-up (which has a similar effect anyway), the Silvia can be also competitive on faster tracks.

Oh yeah, and I once owned a Gallardo with my upgraded RX-7 on College Mall, I think. I saw it in the lobby and I was like “now I’m screwed!” (I actually typed that in for my rival’s encouragement.) Except I wasn’t screwed because of the Gallardo. It was a f***ing Silvia that beat me!

You can also ask Rob (Robin’7t4) if you don’t trust me. He’s just bought one of those f***ers, I think. :D

What's your name in the World, eh?

I would have wished for an 'offline mode' available through retailers for some small scraps of money with loads of cars available for free from Carbon and MW.

Anyway, what about an R32? I also got a sweet zero dollar deal on a mobile T-Mobile advert - a tuned Mazda 3 MPS (clever on EA's part for advertising) - which I blacked out with a giant vinyl (yeeeaaaah, **** you commerce!). And an Eclipse GT V6, slightly upgraded, blue. I call the baby 'Blu Poznań', from the coat of arms and presence of a racetrack (perfect colour name eh?) - and of course my home city.

The 60k Tier 2 bargains seem good when Tier2 is needed. I am yet to determine in what way I should use my Mitsubishi and Mazda. Seems like the heavy V6 is a good pursuit basher and sprint combo (out of Eclipse and 3 MPS, the Eclipse is the accelerator while 3 is topspeed based)...

But the 3 MPS gets pushed over so easily by other *******s out of shortcuts, into traffic etc (although it's lighter I think, and handles better). The Mitsubishi is a GT of the two.

What do I do?

Wait, how about RX-7? Are those any good?

I have countlessly beaten RX-7's with my silvia with race parts, so i strongly suggest buying a silvia if you can upgrade it with race parts (at times i have beaten tier 3's with it). ATM i have 100k and don't know what to do with it, in the same boat as you :P

Alright. Does it matter, the Tier?

I heard it's hard to get an R32 up to speed. But its AWD grip and meaty VR6 give it some potential...

Seriously, it takes some strategic thinking without boost. Because for like 4 UK pounds I'd be rolling in any Tier 2 car, probably an Elise.

Silvia? Dude, if I only knew to choose it at the start of the game. They aren't good in pursuits though...

The Mazda 3 MPS I got for free seems to get the job done a lot of times...

Hmm. Well, if the Mazda is winning you races, it would make sense to keep on using it. I'm only level 14, so i only have a Silvia(race parts) and an Eclipse(street parts). I suppose the tier doesn't really matter as obviously my Tier 1 silvia can smoke Tier 3 cars on occasion. For pursuits, a car like the Silvia isn't great or that good at all - just really only for tight, technical tracks.

I need to get a heavier car for pursuits, not sure ether.

There should also be a way to "gift" parts, i've won a couple and don't use them at all. (some of them are Tier1 race parts). :/

The Eclipse is doing fine for me for now, did win some races with it. It's quite heavy, but nice and stable on faster, wider tracks.

It also has a degree of *******-proof, when people try to smash you with their light MPS and Silvias, you're not as badly affected.

Meh, it's still alot slower than the silvia, although i haven't tried it with pursuits as of yet..

I think i'll level up enough to buy a powerful Tier3 (like the M3), as other cars are easily beaten by the Silvia.

BTW, what's your nickname on World? i'll add you.

Tier 2 races don't appear until level 15 or 16. I'm stuck at 16.

Silvia is fastest out of tier 1 cars, for pursuits use whatever you like.

For tier 2, Lotus Elise is supposedly best, but its damn expensive and unlocks at 25 level. RX-7 most likely second best, right after Elise. Again, those are cars for racing, but there are plenty of choices for smashing cops in tier 2.

Note that i didn't drive Lotus yet, but i did test Silvia and RX-7.

I got 3 race parts on my Silvia and no car from tier 2 could keep up so far, unless someone decided that it would be a good idea to ram me into a wall.

I'm not sure about tier 3 cars, i only raced against one of them, R35, but i lost thanks to about 5 people ramming me in one corner.

RX-7 is pretty good, but i don't know how good it will be with race parts, i don't have any of them for tier 2 yet.

I bought an R32. And although the performance bars looked impressive and I thought of V6 torque and AWD stability and handling, it's not much better in races (yields no better times or anything AND feels heavier and probably handles worse) than my tuned Mazda 3 MPS - the Golf is Stock though.

Damn... do I invest in parts or wait to buy another car? What about a Lancer Evo IX or BMW Z4?

BTW the Elise's ridiculous price is weird since the car itself is MILES cheaper than a Cayman. Cayman has a stupid giant price tag too...

I should get some BOOST.
