My new daily driver. 2.3 4-cyl with a 4 speed, 77k miles, $1500. It's been stored in a trailer for 5 years up here after sitting in a garage in CT for 10. It has to be one of the only ones still driving around New England.
The last year for pinto...Yeah.I love more 70s pintos than last ones.Congrats on car man!More pics soon.
2-Edge 06-28-2011, 02:06 PM I want to see the 80's interior.
How many hp it has? Or did have when it was new.
Schaefft 06-28-2011, 05:16 PM I wouldnt wanna drive it if its one of the last in your area in good condition. I also wouldnt wanna drive it if there were plenty of them still around. :p

I've always liked the round headlight ones more, and I really don't like the taillights on mine. But the front end is starting to grow on me.

Before it was pulled out of the trailer and cleaned up. 88hp stock, probably a little less with how it's running. I need to set the timing properly. I am planning on running a turbo 2.3 4cyl in the future, probably from a T-Bird.

I'm not planning to drive it in the winter - road salt is what killed them.

A recall fixed that issue. They were also no worse than any other small car in the 70s, it was proven in a 90s study. Look at the Honda Civic from the same time. Or the Vega with the gas filler behind the license plate under the bumper.

Took the words right out of my mouth...verbatim.

Red, haha, that's pretty much exactly what I expected to see.

That's ****ing neat.
Cobra64 06-28-2011, 10:06 PM The seats are in really good shape and really comfortable. I need a new dash pad and new carpet. I also need to get a working cassette deck installed, I think the one I was hooking up is fried. It had an AM radio stock with 1 speaker, but it had a speaker box in it with dual 6" speakers when I bought it.
Meastro444 06-29-2011, 07:41 AM Red interior with neon blue needles and numbers.... :'(
I like the car. Would love to have one here in Holland.
What's the fuel consumption?
Cobra64 06-29-2011, 02:57 PM Been getting high 20s with it not tuned properly over the past couple days. Used about 8-9 gallons going 250 miles. I'll get a more exact number when I fill up and find out how many gallons I've used exactly.
Dr.DooM 06-29-2011, 04:29 PM heheh the us equivalent of a fiesta?
i like it, the interior is kickass!
Cobra64 06-29-2011, 08:07 PM A little earlier than the Fiesta, '80 was the last year. They usually shared the same engine with the British Escort, I'm guessing you're from England?
Mr. Sting Ray 06-29-2011, 09:55 PM Haha a Pinto. I havent seen one since my buddy sold his. His however had a 460 big block we shoehorned in.

What did you use for the rear end?

Ford 9 inch with 4:11 gears.
Cobra64 06-30-2011, 07:41 PM Found a junkyard with a running 88 Turbo Tbird and they'll let me take the whole drivetrain (engine, transmission, ECU, 8.8 rear end with discs) for 700. Hopefully I can do this later in the summer.

Larger than a Fiesta. Ford replaced the Pinto by bringing the Escort to the States, which would run alongside the Fiesta for a few years before the Fiesta's discontinuation from the U.S. market.
EDIT: Wait, I think it was actually the Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz which officially replaced the Pinto.
