Pity I have no pics. So, the problem is: yesterday or so I was playing HP2010 in my PC when I take the Viper ACR for a racer freedrive. As I'm speeding through Boulder Desert I notice that the car reaches it maximum speed (202 MPH) in fifth gear.
Part two. I decide to do the Carrera GT time trial again. Suddenly I look at the speedometer and the car is in seventh gear.
Both cars have six speed gearboxes. What is exactly the problem? Is EA kidding their clients, thinking they're stupid enough to dunno how many gears their rides of choice have? Or is it a bug? I mean, is it even possible to reach the double ton with 5 gears?

As I can see, most of the cars have an "extra gear" which they can use if the player uses nitrous or turbo. Cop cars automatically use them because of their increased performance. As for the Racer cars, the extra gear is only available once the player uses nitrous or turbo and they have the ability to exceed far beyond the top speed unlike the Cops.

Yes, but even MW had realistic gearboxes.

Yes, but even MW had realistic gearboxes.

But MW -> Black Box EA
HP2010 -> Criterion Games

And as you maybe know Criterion are making most likey "fantasy" involved games, close to reaslistic but not accurate when coming to cars (all of their previous games had no licensed cars), so that's why the gearboxes are not accurate.

I tried driving realistically in HP2010. So - I didn't make sharp turns at over 150km/h and followed a more or less realistic line. It's more realistic than 'the Run'.

Needless to say, if you don't use nitrous, the gears will change as normal. Also, the speedometer turns red/blue when real top speed of the car has been surpassed, showing that this isn't real kids, and neither is the ****ing 7th gear in cars that don't have it.
