i basically have two questions: in the game is there any way to turn auto drifts off as i would like to do them myself? and what kind of races do you have to run to get credits to upgrade to newer cars? thanks for your help!

as far as i know there is no automatic drift function in the game, it are just the game's own realasitic preformance.

theres no auto drifts, drifting is just so easy at that game.

or you can try to tune the car like i did, with my setup you couldent drift, just real racing.

ok, thats what i was thinking since the options/setup pages were so simple. so do i just win races to get credits to buy cars or what?

auto drifts? do you mean auto countersteer? cause it's the keyboard.. it's automatic.. if you use mouse or wheel, it will be gone..

there is no auto drift in LFS.
If you find there is such a thing it means that your setup is not right.
And did I see you wrote the setup screen is simple? After 1 year of playing there is still room for improvement in my setups.

LFS is a sim. The only auto things in there are the auto transmission (that I would not recommend to anyone) and the auto-countersteer that has been implemented to level up users driving with a digital controller.

If you feel there is an auto-drift you're probably used to arcade games and I would recommend you to try braking when you see there will be a corner...... :super:

I'm guessing he meant the auto counter steer when he said, auto drift ;)

yup, when you go around a corner and the back end kicks out, counter steer-drift whatever happens automatically and it sucks. shouldnt happen unless (1) on dirt/gravel (2) going over 50 mph. i have done this plenty of times in my grand am on a gravel road at around 20 mph, take a corner sharp and the back end 'drifts'. counter steer takes place to keep the car from spinning out. stinking fwd pos in LFS kicks it rear out if you wiggle the steering going in a straight line! this game is aggrivating.

nope, still does it with mouse, just more so cuz mouse is highly touchy.

are u trying to say that your car slides everytime you turn?...
if so, it's because you slam on the gas too much and/or too early when you exit the corner

well, i use keyboard/mouse and its either gas on or gas off. but it slides going in a straight line too.
