Police Garage was a site that I, PG-Chief (Chief) NFSPoliceForce, Dodgeboy, Zephyr22b and FP were staff at with Francis (FP) as the webmaster we made cars for High Stakes and Hot Pursuit 2. Unfortunately they are, I remember CCC and HS HP. And PG / Pursuit Inc. of course. HS HP didn't focus on state police cruisers really, I remember Disneyland security vehicles were available there among maaany others.

CVPI19: Next time you chat with Francis you need to tell him his Crown Vic for Durham Regional police is BAD..The car.viv file is fine but the TGA file is invalid and if you try to use the car it will crash NFS HighStakes..I was wondering why it kept crashing so I ran it through NFS Wizard to check it and it told me it has a bad TGA file in it.

Well I figured that would have been a fair solution, sure.
And as far as pictures go, I could always just take the time out to take the pictures myself and add them when I upload the vehicles.
I have the complete file (car.viv) for each car, most even include the original "readme" file.

Police Garage is not dead, people, it's just scattered around in the public and we need to just come together to present all of our saved files and eventually it will be as if the site never died.

Great idea sarge..It seems hard to reach FP (the boss) of PoliceGarage though but I'm sure he'll do the same once he reads this post..I contacted him some time ago about cruisers and still haven't received a reply yet. I also think we should contact some authors at FileFront about having them upload their cars and other vehicles to this site..I found some there that haven't appeared here or on PoliceGarage either..I have yet to try them all out but 1 is a D.A.R.E. car..I'm going to open them all and try to view them and get pics to see what they look like.

There's also a FireChief car of the Crown Vic there. I have yet to test it out though..Alot of the vehicles on there are by Addict.

I think NFS Wizard does work. If not, try VIV editor, works with any NFS' *.viv files.

@ NFSPF: I don't think the server has been modified in the slightest way since this legal issue arose. So there is a good chance your stuff is still available somewhere. But it's bad to see even you haven't heard anything from Mike or Francis. Every active (staff) member at PG was important for its atmosphere.

Dark1: I just went there and it seems Tippi let other things get to him or her and decided to shut down the site..(Like Textnolith did with ND4SPDworld.com) If I ever start a free NFS site I'd keep it open no matter how many things I have going on in my life..I may not be able to answer thew flood of emails I'd get but I don't think I'd shut it down if I got busy..I'd just leave it open so others could enjoy it. Who knows other users may even decide to be Admins and help monitor it. But I wouldn't want to run into server issues like PoliceGarage did. I think all you guys who had files on it should sue the server to make them return your files, they have no right to keep them or trash them as YOU own them not the servers.

However if you'all do go that route it will take some time either way but in the long run it would be worth it as it would send a clear message to servers to be careful what sh!t they pull with people and their files they post. This won't be a easy quick fix though..It's liable to takes years but in the long run it may be worth it..Probably wouldn't hurt to get the news media involved either.

I sent it in to see if it could be fix and thy said it would cost almost $900 bucks to get the data off of the hard drive .Thy say the data is still there but it will cost to get it back .So it is lost for good . I may be able to open it up and see what I can do . But I am not a data recover person.Now I have watch some videos .And thy show you can do it and it can be done .I do have the tools and I have a hard drive that is the same that is good that will work .So I may give it a shot .What the hell .I am not going to pay 900 buck to get my data back .I do have some cars on cd .But I am really pushing my luck on this one .I my have one more person I can try .But I only see him one any an awile .So I will see what I can do .If you see any of my cars thy will show up on nfs cars till we figer out if we could figer out a site .

Also, to add to the justice portion of pursuing reasons to retrieve your lost files, technically you would need the author of the server's real names and other information. But it's worth a shot.

Jack O'Neill: I don't work for them no more but it was Executive Security..Then on the state fair it was Illinois Department Of Agriculture Division Of Security..Now I work for Securitas..They may soon handle state things though in the future..They handle the U.S. Government security because they own Pinkerton but they so far want to keep the Pinkerton name as for my job now though it's just patroling a metal factory and a adjacent abandoned building they lease out to the factory and Gilster Marylee Foods.

I live in Duquoin..about 3-4 hours from Chicago and much less crime there..Almost none actually.

Jack O'Neill: Thanks for the invitation but I'm happy enough with security..It's less dangerous but don't get me wrong, When I did it for the state we had some danger there..I was assigned to curb auto theft at a car lot and we had a red dash pancake light and flashing headlights but no guns..(never had guns) You never knew who you was pulling over late at night there..I actually chatted with several local police and sheriff deputies there too because it was the place they went to have their squad cars repaired too..Later we discovered the auto thefts were most likely not really thefts but inside insurance fraud schemes perpetrated by the dealer. I got nothing against police and all just I know I couldn't take the risks they do as I have to help support my parents now. Half of my relatives are police though.

And PolizeiPaul, well that's good that you have nothing against them, we do appreciate the Security Officers as well though, because sometimes they're in the places that we cannot patrol due to other seriousness of crimes where security officers aren't permitted to go.

I believe all businesses should rely on security as 1st line of defense anyway, it saves a lot of time and deters a lot of petty or small crimes from occurring -- like vandalism. But you're right, there are a lot of risks involved in both being a Police Officer or a Security Officer.
