Hi guys.
I thought i'd pick this title up again and have some fun with it, and also upgrade the visuals as much as i could via FXAA/ENB/Textures. But, as it turns out, MW has this weird bug, which makes the dynamic shadows extremely blocky, which is absolutely unacceptable because the prerendered shadows are even uglier to look at. And i have no idea why this is happening, i run a GTX580 in my machine. Does anybody know why this is happening, how it can be fixed? I'm also open for any suggestions to mods/tweaks that help up the visual quality. Currently i have: SSO Textures Version 2 Better Smoke Looking for: ENB configs of all kinds. However, the newer ones that were designed for Skyrim, disable dynamic shadows full stop, so they're effectively useless. |

The first download link (narod link) works for me. Downloaded it again.
Also, nobody can re-upload it without the author's permission so even if we have it, we can't share it without beeing impolites at least.

Got it. The first time i tried narod.ru the download wanted me to install some toolbar. I look at that as a sign of the site being fishy. Fortunately i found the option to avoid that. Downloading now.

Update!
![]() Thanks to a lovely guy in the nVidia forums, i have fixed my shadow issue. I have also added Modern Rockport into my texmod setup, though i'll need to modify it to make sure some of the SSO textures are still used, such as the static texture under the car, which is unedited in Modern Rockport, and frankly is ugly as shit. Still looking for more mods and ENBs! |

A debugged exe. As for your ENB, it's got an awful lot of bloom to it, so keep working on that.

At this point, if you want the debugged exe, i don't really want to give it out at the moment. Once i'm done with my project, yes. Or if i end up sacking the project. That might happen too, I'm a lazy bastard.
And yeah, it is bright, and kills off color. |

I have paused my project at the moment due to needing space for the raw footage on my hard drive, but i am still keeping an eye on it.
What can i say, i procrastinate. EDIT: That, and the RacerS camera hack is a ***** to work with. |

Trailer / AMV / Tribute video.
The camera hack being a hassle is what has slowed things in that regard, as i want closeups of the car, and unfortunately there's a hardcoded transition on the car which bounces the camera away from it when it gets too close, and i'm not entirely sure how to disable it. Should be possible SOMEHOW, as it doesn't happen when people use it for the 'first person view', but i just haven't figured it out. |

he debugged the game to use 8192x8192 shadowmaps
that's how it looks like can you give me this through PM? I don't need help recording, my rig is fine with that, it's the directing part that's the difficult bit.
I will not be releasing the debugged files until i either scrap my project, or finish it. I prefer to keep it under wraps for now. Incidentally, you seem to knowledge of Modern Rockport? Specifically, 2.0? What do you know about this update? |

You say that as if there is a problem with FRAPS's raw capture capabilities. I see nothing wrong with it. The test footage i uploaded is simply low bitrate. The raw footage is, well..raw.

If you have 200 mb/s write speeds on your hdd you can use dxtory
dxtory can record on 2 hard drives at the same time , splitting the file and then you can combine them with a program dxtory is using RGB - True Quality it gives the best quality believe me, and it does take about 5% speed!!! fraps need about 40% just a tip and I don't understand why you don't want to give me the debugged shadow things, I wouldn't give it to others and I would make nice videos with thanks to your name |

FRAPS can output RGB24, it is not setup to do so by default.
DXTORY has a good concept, but it creates an unnecessary layer of work, as FRAPS can easily output raw capture at the 80 FPS hardcap of NFSMW, the 8K shadowmaps are much more of a strain on the machine than FRAPS could ever be. I've heard some people complain that FRAPS takes away 40 or even 60% of their machine's resources, and i fault that to a bug, as it uses negligible amounts on my build. So i remain with FRAPS, and i believe i lose little in that regard. Also, if you're really worried about disk write speeds, why not throw an extra 8GB into your machine and set it up as a RAM drive and record there, instead? That sort of a setup would run around in circles against any normal, disc based solution. Just sayin'. I have PMed you with the details for my executable. |

ENB is a file that hook into the underlying DirectX renderer that games use, allowing the use of extra effects, such as color correction, enhanced bloom, lighting effects, etc etc. You can only do a few things with it in MW, because the ENB has to be adjusted for MW to work properly, but it's still a decent enhancement.

Any game that uses Direct3D will work. Underground 2 is one of them, but also any game after or before.
