Signatures Rules.

Jan. 28, 2006, 5:45 p.m.
Remember folks the signature rules still apply.

1. You must use nfscars signature upload. it will upload your signature and validate it for the correct size and file size and then store it on the server with the filename being your userid. The signature upload does work.

2. The maximum allowed height and width for the image is 500x100 Pixels.

3. The maximum allowed file size for the image is 80KB.

4. Your are allowed to have only 1 signature picture uploaded at a time, if you upload another one your current one will be deleted.

If people cannot follow these rules and it becomes too much of a problem I will disallow signatures again.

Also please note once you upload a new signature you might have to clear your browser cache to see the new signature.

width: 400 height: 100 is the size restrictions, it can be smaller then that but not bigger.

why??? why cant the resctictions be 200 by 500 or something like that. it is hard to minimize a picture to that tiny size

A) 400x100 (or smaller) looks good
B) Anything bigger makes it harder for people with slower connections to see the forums
C) It just looks ugly!

dont minimize pictures then, isnt that easier?

design for the 400x100, and you'll do fine, if you go from something bigger and reduce, of course it'll look like crap.

:D i went from something bigger, cropped it to correct ratio then rescaled it so it worked… was 1280x1024 , cropped to something with 4:1 ratio

There's nothing wrong with 100*400 sigpics, you can fit plenty into that space, and I should know!

My sigpics are often smaller than 400x100.
It's plenty of space.

Did you change theurl

Yeah…but now it works. Guess it takes a while for the server to realize that my sigpic changed?

Wait…I think it's because I didn't clear my browser cache.

I created a thread in Bugs and Suggestions because my new sig won't upload. It keeps giving me the same file name and pic.

I found and read this afterwards. I tried clearing my cache, etc, but it still won't work.

EDIT: Nevermind, it finally worked.
