As you maybe have noticed already I have made some changes to the home page. Most of the changes are visual and the site structure is pretty much the same but for what I have done you can read below. I will also be rolling these changes out to the other pages over the next few days.

1. New theme.

2. Moved the list of Need For Speed titles into a drop down since we have 18 of them.

3. Many design changes to improve usability.

3. Responsive design to handle mobile, tablets and desktops without any scaling issues.
- What this mean is for now you can view the home page and the site will resize according to your device resolution.

4. Increased font size and cleaned up typography.
- Bigger is always better, right?

As always if you notice something that is broken or have any comments, feel free to drop a message.

Everybody has to decide for themselves if this information is true or not, but someone claiming to be an ex-employee of Ghost Games, who wants revenge, leaked unconfirmed details about the upcoming Need for Speed:

so ive just been fired from Ghost games so i might aswell leak this, yes we have skipped a year with NFS games, EA was at first contemplating to shut down the franchise after many titles failed to meet expectations, now as a last ditch effort they gave us more time (and horrendous working hours) to work on the new title Underground: Need For Speed yes this a Sequel to the Underground series, but to make it seem new we had to reboot it, make it more modern add some of the elements of 2012's NFS most wanted if you dont believe me, at this years VGX we will anounce the game. this song will be playing in the trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tsrKgPNHFw

and trailer will Feature a Nissan GTR being slowly customized in the style of the opening in NFSU1

In further comments he/she posted some more information:

we are still trying to go back to the foundation of Underground by including as many import cars as possible with a healthy amount of european cars, American and Muscle cars are sadly enough almost absent besides the 2014 Ford Mustang Boss, the Customisation can be broken down to Bodykits, widebumper bodykits, spoilers, Rims, spinners, and we also planned to include special parts for Drag races and drift races, you can basicly customise your car for the kind of race you want to do with it, Vinyls and paints also is much more expanded than first, the appearance of your car will mather, if you put it online people can give your car style points, the more style points the more your car is worth

Also some information about the console versions:

I also forgot to add, EA is now jumping on the whole Framerate craze and the game will run at 60 fps on all systems altough the ps4 and xbone version are a pain in the ass to make it run well, the trailer we will show will look slightly better than the endgame, 900p on PS4 and 720p on xbone, altoughthe xbone version is struggling to stay at 60 and MS is pressuring us to lower the Ps4 version to 720p too, EA will probably make that call, so if they say it runs at 1080p 60 fps, its damage control

we are still in early stages but from what i could see it does try to emulate the Old Nfs feel but with some burnout things like takedowns the handling Unlocks are done trough the reputation you gain in the city, the higher your rep the better the unlocks, same with cars shops, autolots and all are visible from the beggining

So far it is information anyone could come up with, so we will have to wait for the VGX (formerly Spike Video Game Awards) in December...

For me, my worse fear came true. An Underground reboot. Oh god why?!

We would like to apologize about the downtime we experienced today. Our data center moved our servers into a new facility and things did not go as planned when they executed the move and the result was our primary database server was damaged. After getting the databases from our daily backup we have restored a backup from November 13th 3AM CST so we might of lost a few hours of data.

Things should be back to normal or coming back to normal. Let us know if you find something that does not work.

Thanks,
NFSCars Team

EA's next NFS Title, coming to mobile!

Looks like EA let slip that there's a new Need for Speed game coming to mobile, called Need for Speed: No Limits. So, rally driver Ken Block showed off his new car, a four wheel drive 1965 Ford Mustang modified for his upcoming "Gymkhana 7" video. Now, on the front of the car, there's a logo for a Need for Speed: No Limits, which others saw and wondered if it was the next main game in the Need for Speed franchise. Upon finding out about this, EA has confirmed that it's an upcoming mobile game. Good news, perhaps, for mobile gamers, and bad news for console fans of the franchise as the next game has yet to be announced quite yet.

Certainly, there's little actual details on the game and lots to speculate on. Since the logo's on a car designed for Gymkahana, perhaps the game will focus around that kind of stunt racing? Odds are that it will be free-to-play since EA doesn't really do premium any more, and internet forums are already having their fun with the "no limits to the microtransactions" jokes. But hey, the Need for Speed games on mobile have always been well-made and people love EA's Real Racing 3 [Free], so it might be worth keeping an open mind about this one...whatever it winds up being.
