The fans have spoken, and today we’re activating the “Manufacturer Battles” playlist!

We’re also making it another Double XP Weekend. Since last weekend was so much fun, we thought we would do it again!

The NFS team will be online from 2pm – 3pm (PST). Add them now:

NFSCoulter [Xbox]
NFSPetra [PS3]

Check out our Facebook page throughout the week as we will be putting up another poll to see which of the two remaining playlists get turned on next week!

The ninth Need for Speed The Run Time Attack community challenge has begun! This is a weekly challenge where we put the community's driving skills to the test by challenging everyone to beat our times in a Challenge Series event.

We're racing on the Just Drive event in the Winter Blast Challenge Series which is over 19km long with 10 checkpoints and you're going to be driving one of the fastest cars in the game, the Pagani Huayra. NFSDrew laid down a gold time of 5:08; we've got a lot of amazing drivers in the NFS community so we expect you all to beat this time!

Here's how to enter this challenge:
1. Beat NFSDrew's time in the same Challenge Series event
2. Grab a picture of your race time on the post-race screen
3. Twitpic it to @NeedForSpeed with the hashtag #NFSTheRunTimeAttack

(We'll also take video entries; just be sure to submit your video as a response to our Time Attack video on YouTube)

At the end of the week we'll randomly draw from the pool of all entries one lucky winner who will receive a very cool prize from the Need for Speed swag cabinet!

A couple of rules you need to be aware of:
- There are no regional restrictions for this challenge. Anybody anywhere in the world can enter!
- This competition is open to all platforms.
- You can use any car available in the Challenge Series event
- Your twitpic and/or video must clearly display your race time. If we can't read it, it won't be considered a valid entry
- If you do choose to submit via YouTube video, it must be submitted as a response to our video
- Use of cheat programs or trainers is prohibited
- A player can only win one week in a row

Some say the Loch Ness Monster is just a modern-day myth, but in The Run, you might be able to catch a glimpse or photo of this legendary monster!

Tucked away in the eerie and foggy mountains is the home to ‘Nessie’. If you can find her, then send your photos to us for this week’s Photo Mode Challenge!

If you have trouble finding her whereabouts, we’ll help you by dropping hints on our Twitter page throughout the week.

Hint #1 – The photo above! If you’re familiar with The Run, you’ll know what stage this is just by looking at the photo.

Enter the Photo Challenge by following these steps:

1. Take a cool picture in Photo Mode
2. Download the photos from your Autolog Gallery on the web and Facebook app
3. Twitpic it to @NeedForSpeed with the hashtag #NFSTheRun_Photos

Remember, these photos will be posted in albums on our Facebook page for the public to vote for their favorite. The more creative and fun the pic…the better!

We will accept photo entries until Sunday Feb 19th. Good luck!

When we released the Italian Edition Pack for Need for Speed The Run we added more than cars and Challenge Series. If you purchased the Italian Pack or downloaded the title update released just before it came out then you've got access to six new multiplayer playlists!

- Manufacturer Battles – Race with a single stock car from select manufacturers
- Hazardous Conditions – A collection of races featuring snow, back roads and twisty hills
- Signature Edition Racing – Exclusive races for signature edition cars
- Car Battles – Each session offers a pairing of rival cars
- Technical Challenge – Race the fastest cars on the most technical tracks
- Classic Car Racing – Rip it up with classic cars from The Run

The thing is, we haven't turned them on yet…we want you, the community, to decide which playlist gets turned on first! Every Tuesday for the next six weeks we're going to let you vote for which play list to activate for the week. Then, on Friday we'll turn on the playlist just in time for the community gaming session and leave on until the next week's gaming session.

If you want to cast your vote then go to the Need for Speed Facebook page now and select your favorite playlist in the poll.

Back by popular demand (and because NFSCoulter wanted a shot at the sweet jumps in the beginning), we've got a new Time Attack this week.

NFSCoulter ran a faster time for you to beat, but all the practice you did on NFS Edition Showdown before will pay off because we're not changing the Challenge Series!

If you can beat 2:41.07 on NFS Edition Showdown in the Plains Interstate Challenge Series, here's what to do:

1. Beat NFSCoulter's time in the same Challenge Series event
2. Grab a picture of your race time on the post-race screen
3. Twitpic it to @NeedForSpeed with the hashtag #NFSTheRunTimeAttack.

Good luck!

This week we have a special guest Time Attack for you!

The "Old Spice Guy" has leapt off the horse and into a race car to set an incredible time for you to beat! In the Old Spice Challenge Series, select "I'm on a Horse," and get practicing!

His time of 2:24:84 is tough, but there's a chance you can win if you're quick enough! If you do happen to beat the Old Spice Guy's time without breaking a sweat (see what I did there?), take a picture and send it to us on Twitter.

Here's how to enter this challenge:
1. Beat the Old Spice Guy's time in the "I'm on a Horse" Challenge Series event
2. Grab a picture of your race time on the post-race screen
3. Twitpic it to@NeedForSpeed with the hashtag #NFSTheRunTimeAttack.

(We'll also take video entries; just be sure to submit your video as a response to our Time Attack video on YouTube)
