NFS Carbon Tuning Guide

READ THIS DESCRIPTION FIRST, THEN MAKE COMMENTS AND VOTE!!!

This tuning guide is made for those who want to use shape vinyls and make something sensible out of them. Only basics are covered here, so this is just a cue.

Rules:

- DO NOT copy/paste this guide to any other sites, no matter if you include my name or not;

- Use this guide only as a reference for your own tuning. You may make a replica of this car for educational purposes, but DO NOT post it on this or any other site;

- I am aware that I've pretty much messed up that Porsche, but DON'T rate the car itself. Rate the guide as how much it helped you;

- If you don't feel like you need a help for tuning, DO NOT underrate it for nothing and post comments like "I don't need it, go to hell for posting it" or "yo smartass u think u now sumthin u now nuthin i now betta than u" because there is always someone out there who needs it;

- Suggestions are always welcome.

If that's clear, read the basic rules of applying shape vinyls:

- Always take your time. Don't hastily stick three layers of shapes and call it quits;

- Follow the curve of bodykit and car itself. Vinyls are often used just to enhance car's existing shape, so don't make any nonsense;

- Be careful with shapes. Sometimes you can stretch them to cover nearly the entire car, but sometimes you must shrink them to almost nonexistent lines and dots;

- Remember, you have only 20 layers. Use them smart; don't waste a single one. What's the point of making a single minor detail when you plan of covering it later?

- And final, don't EVER paint them in more than one color. There are rare cases when you can paint them in two (fill and inner shadow as one, stroke as another), but it's not recommended for the beginning.

I hope that I was being helpful. Good luck, tuners! ;)

*sigh* Now I expect to see this showroom full of nice cars.

Nice tutorial, if I had NFS:C I would probably use it ;)

Though I prefer white over yellow.

Sir Tristan

em...

"Guide How to do cars like Manic does" - very good for rookie ricers but I've got my own.

Some really good tips on here though, man.

In my book, one can do absolutely without any vinyls whatsoever.

But the best use I've ever made of vinyls was on one Supra which I'll certainly show the world tomorrow ;)

Those rims and vinyls look bad.

@2-Edge,

Did you ever bother to read the description, or you just picked a random pic and judged by that?

@Sir Tristan,

Yeah, pretty much the way how I do it, though I ain't forcing anyone to copy me. On the contrary, I'm encouraging that anyone shows their best and use this guide just as a minor help of how to accomplish that. Anyone has different tastes, aren't they? ;)

Anyway, this kind of tuning (just without those stripes and with white paint) would look better on 993 Turbo than on this one, IMO.

Sir Tristan

Yeah, Manic, if you ever played NFS P2k/PU, there was a Boxster on it with blue-orange stripes, resembling a 924 from a poster saying "Colours of victory" - I want to do something like that on a Cayman, kinda like what you did but on white background... we'll see how it goes ;)

As you see, I don't upload many cars yet I still do quite a lot of them, so if they come here it means I was bored and uploaded something off my Fraps folder.

The Ford GT, though, was to put some cruel ingenuity into pointless but "purposeful" intentional ricing xD

Hmm... The rims are a little too small and the yellow is not really my taste, but very good! Certainly learned some things from that!
