did you note how small become the tires of the golf when you put custom rims??
i've found some way to "fix" it in underground mode: first you trade the golf with a big car, like supra, 350 or skyline (maximum 20'' size rims). Second: buy the rims you want for the golf. And when you trade the skyline for a golf again, you'll see that the big tire size remains (golf with 20'' rims, looks pretty cool)

By the way, nice car. try "strike" sideskirts
