World Online Showroom Open, and NFSNation hosts a Map
Yes, For those who had access to the Beta of NFS World Online, the showroom is up and available for you to upload all your favorite screen shots from the game.
NFSNation has created a map with clickable points for use with World Online. Given that the city is quite large, and you may not always be able to see your friends on the map, it was designed to give active points on the map which you can share with your friends, giving an exact location to where you may want to meet. (via any messenger, chat, or irc program)
It could be very useful when you are playing with friends who do not know the city maps well enough. For best results, playing World Online in windowed mode helps.
For example, On the last day of Beta 1, there was a gathering of many of the players for some group shots.
They wanted to go to the stadium.

Shows you where the stadium is, and if you use it in reference to where you are, you can easily find a quick route.
As it goes, Beta II dates have still yet to be announced.
Maybe, if there are future updates of the map, NFSNation will add more features for use. For now, no.
Rumours of Hot Pursuit Remake and Shift 2
NFSPlanet posted information about a rumor, where they heard that this year's NFS may be a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, possibly a remake of the classic NFS III Hot Pursuit (1998). Of course, going with the name, we could expect the return of police pursuits, whether playable as police is another question unanswered. It's not known yet if the game will contain an open world, or simply track based as its predecessor.
If we believe to some degree about previous rumors, this might be the title Criterion Games is working on, who are the creators of the successful Burnout-series.
The second game is planned for release in the 1st quarter in 2011 and would likely be a successor of NFS Shift and possibly carry the name Need for Speed: Shift 2. Given the overall success of Shift this seems to be a logical step of EA.
As soon as we have more information, we'll keep you updated.

Need For Speed: Carbon Geometry finally Cracked.
Since the Release of Carbon in October of 2006, Carbon has been locked and virtually unmoddable. Finally after tirelessly working with the code, Dawid, known as NFSU360, solved the equation, and has the ability under his thumb for new user created cars to be imported into the game.
The Tool release date has yet to be announced, as well, the performance modding is yet unchanged, so for now, any cars imported would still use the original settings from the one it had replaced.
Carbon Modding news will be known when more proper detailed information becomes available from the original source.
There are only three source shots of this current NFS success.
World Online BETA 1 Survey is out.
EA has sent out surveys to those who had a chance to participate in the first North American Survey.
Please be thorough, detailed, and honest with your answers. Also, for Question 13, it would be appreciative if you could also include NFSCars.net as a source you learned about Need For Speed World. As an added bonus, for those who own Shift on the 360, watch the NeedForSpeed Twitter.
