NFSCars: 6000 Cars!
January 28th 2006

This week, NFSCars passed the amazing amount of 6,000 cars!!! The 6,000th car to be added was the Dodge Ram SRT/10, which was converted to NFS6 and modified by UCN Conversions.

Id like to thank everyone who made it possible to get to this milestone! Offcourse, especially all the authors who did most of the work by creating these cars. Some are quite simple and took only a few hours or less to create, others took weeks if not months to create, but all of them would not have existed without the dedication of the authors.

Offcourse, let us not forget all the visitors who keep coming back to find the biggest collection of NFS cars.

Thanks everyone.

As a celebration of NFSCars fifth anniversary, I decided to write up an article on the history of NFSCars.

Read it here :)

Yep, thats right, last week NFSCars passed its fifth anniversery!

Five years ago I started this site, more as a PHP/MySQL experiment, but it got a little out of hand, resulting in the biggest NFS fansite in the world :)

Not much to add to that really, except the usual thanks: Thanks everyone who made this possible! Lets hope we can keep the site up for at least another five years!

Welcome to v3.0
March 27th 2005

Well I wasnt satisfied with the current code structure and design aspects of v2 so the last 2 months I have been working on v3 of NFSCars.

You might not see the difference at first except for the design itself but really the backend of NFSCars has changed alot.

Whats New/Fixed:

1. Authors Listing is Back!
2. A New option of listing the files in advanced mode. - Preview
3. File Reporting (Stolen Cars, Errors Etc).
4. Comment Reporting.
5. New Stats Page (Total Files, Total cars, Etc) You can find the link to your left.
6. Fixed - Screenshot Viewing Next and Previous Links has been changed and improved.
7. You can now comment on the current polls. ( Click Here )

and much more has been done that the eye cannot see. As with every new version of the site if you happen to spot an error or bug please post in the bug reports & suggestions forum.

Also with the new code structure of NFSCars I can easily add new features in the future in far less time then with the previous versions.

One more thing to note, I havent finished all the header images so some will still look wierd, I plan to have this done my tommorow.

Although this is not the first publicly released car made available for Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed/Porsche 2000…it is the first one released here at NFSCars courtesy of the F-Body Faction and those behind the creation of the car and its editing process (Azrael, Arushan, etc.).

You may have already seen the –->1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z<–- which has taken top downloads this week :D The car is just one of the few which will be introduced by the F-Body faction as their list includes some of their classic creations:

- Pontiac Firebird Formula
- Pontiac Firedbird Trans Am
- Chevrolet Camaro SS

as well as some of their more modern releases including :

- NFS 6 Ford Mustang Cobra R
- NFS Underground Nazda RX-7

So, the revolution is just beginning as the F-body guys are presently refining their modelling craft to supply all us NFS 5 gamers with some of the good stuff :D

I would like to publicly thank all involved in what is surely one of the best things to happen to the NFS Scene in years and at the same time politely ask all of you to allow arushan, Azrael, etc. their privacy and be patient until the time comes for any editing tools to be made publicly available- for now, we can only be pateint and simply marvel at the additions which will soon renovate our NFS 5 tracks :D

Dont forget to keep an eye on the –->F-Bodys Forum Topic for NFS 5 : PU Released cars/previews<–-

5,000 cars!!!
June 14th 2004

This weekend, NFSCars passed the amazing amount of 5,000 cars!!! The 5,000th car to be added was the Mercedes Benz Pursuit CLK-GTR (NFS 6), an NFS3 car converted from NFS6 and modified by our own admin Viper Jay 5.

Since the very beginning of the site back in March 2000, the number of cars have been steadily growing. At first, adding a car required a lot of work: I had to download the car and upload it again over my slow ISDN connection and manually add it to the database. Nowadays, everything is automated, adding a car requires only a couple of mouse clicks by an admin to have a car added to the site. This makes sure that cars get added within a couple of hours and keeps the authors satisfied.

Id like to thank everyone who made it possible to get to this milestone! Offcourse, especially all the authors who did most of the work by creating these cars. Some are quite simple and took only a few hours or less to create, others took weeks if not months to create, but all of them would not have existed without the dedication of the authors.

Offcourse, let us not forget all the visitors who keep coming back to find the biggest collection of NFS cars in the entire world, if not the entire universe. NFSCars has been the best visited NFS website for quite some time now and I hope we can keep it that way.

In order to stay interesting enough in the future, and to make sure we can make it to 10,000 cars, we are currently working on a complete rebuild of the site. New sections will be added, like the long-awaited NFS7 vinyls section, the also long-awaited tracks section and the comeback of the tools section. But, dont get your hopes up just yet, the new site still needs loads (and I mean LOADS) of work, so dont expect it within the next 2 months.

Thanks everyone, and keep those cars coming!!!

Almost forgot about it: NFSCars is now 4 years old.

4 years ago on March 24th, I registered the nfscars.com domain and started this website. A lot of things have changed over time, but NFSCars is still NFSCars. The basics of the site are still the same and will stay the same. Even with the new NFSCars coming, the identity of this site will remain.

As always, Id like to thank everyone who made this possible. This includes, offcourse, the NFSCars admins & moderators, but also the hundreds of thousands of visitors NFSCars has had over the years. Still 5000 unique visitors come to NFSCars every day, downloading cars (an avarage of 8000 downloads/day) and joining in on the community.

A special thanks goes out to our host, Mike Geise, who has been our host for over 2 years now. Without it, NFSCars would have been long gone. Thanks Mike :super:

Thats all for now. Lets celebrate, drinks are on me ;)

Yep, you read it right: NFSCars has more than 10,000 members! This certainly is a huge amount, but offcourse not all of them are active. Fortunately, enough members are active to keep the site and the forum active.

Thank you all :)

4000 cars...
May 8th 2003

Well, another milestone. Weve reached the amount of 4000 cars available for download.

As usual, thanks go out to:
- Car authors for creating the cars
- Site admins for getting the cars on the site
- Our host Mike from Games-Are-Forever for hosting the site
- The NFSCars community for keeping the site going
- All the visitors
- Last, but not least, EA, for creating the NFS series

Thats it. On to the next milestone: 5000 cars. Id better start organising a party
