Description

NFS Undercover Cut Car Restoration Pack V1 by TacticalUnitEnforcer
This is my first mod release for NFS Undercover!

INSTALLATION:
Retail Version:
Place the 3 .damage files in C:\Program Files x86\EA Games\Need For Speed Undercover\CARS\DAMAGE
Place the modified GLOBAL files with the scripts in C:\Program Files x86\EA Games\Need For Speed Undercover\GLOBAL

Steam Version:
Place the 3 .damage files in C:\Program Files x86\Steam\steamapps/Need For Speed Undercover\CARS\DAMAGE
Place the modified GLOBAL files with the scripts in C:\Program Files x86\Steam\steamapps/Need For Speed Undercover\GLOBAL

Be sure to make a backup of the original files for your version first before replacing.
In order for the cars to show up in the Shop, you will also need to start a new save file.

MOD INFO:
This mod pack fully restores Vehicles within Undercover's CAR files that were previously dropped during development by Black Box, it includes The 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, 2005 Nissan 350Z and 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, which are carried over cars from NFS Prostreet in itself. I created all new script entries so they can now be used as separate cars in-game, without replacing another car already used by the game. Every car is modifiable in the garage with custom paints, vinyls, aftermarket spoilers, rims and stock carbon fibre hood. All the bodykits for each model will unfortunately remain broken for now as GEOMETRY.BIN files still cannot be edited for NFS Undercover, but these 3 cars stock body models remain intact as is luckily.

A few weeks in total have been spent so far creating hundreds of lines worth of scripts within NFS VltEd to make this possible, most of that time was spent creating all new tuning values for each car so they feel realistic enough while driving with the original handing model by Black Box.
However, as I put a lot of work into the current scripts, I will only be releasing this hard "GLOBAL" files replacement at this time (with only this mod and a small camera shake disabler script I made included so it doesn't shake anymore at all while driving).

Car Improvements & Fixes Rundown:
PLEASE NOTE - The highend/modified tunes are alot more refined than the track/stock based versions, this will be fixed up in a future release.

2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI:
1. Corrected custom Spoiler sizes available
2. Fixed ride height values, they were previously configured too high for the Subaru.
3.Corrected X tyre/wheel value coordinates, they are within the bodywork normally.
4.All new tuning value entries have been added as well as redone "ecar" settings, which were intially based off the Lancer Evo IX's, and has been extensively altered. While improving it, I was able to use some of Prostreet's tuning values for this car quite a bit, so it drives like a classic Impreza should, with a street racing build in mind.
5. Separated audio entries have been added to re-enable the unused WRX STI engine and exhaust sounds, which are leftover within the many .tmx audio files by Black Box.
6. "Car Damage" can now be enabled correctly with Off, Low and High settings with a swapped .damage file from the Lancer Evo IX, the original state of the Subaru's .damage file was not usable, as hitting anything causes a game crash unless its turned "Off".
7. Dispatch police officers will now identify the car as a generic "sports car", as I am not sure if a Subaru "VerbalType" line exists or not.

2005 Nissan 350Z:
1. Corrected custom Spoiler sizes available
2. Fixed ride height values, previously they caused ground scraping and drag at higher speeds.
3. Fully corrected X, Y, Z and W tyre/wheel value coordinates, they are also inside the bodywork normally.
4.Created all new highend performance tuning for the 350Z as it only has the same stock performance when tuned up in its original state.
5. Its handling was initially based off the 370Z, however it had to be heavily improved when upgraded with highend tuning, as it was understeering through nearly every corner before, even with looser grip.
6. "Car Damage" can now be enabled correctly with Off, Low and High settings with a swapped .damage file from the Nissan 370Z, interestingly, while the damage for the 350Z was broken on Low and High settings, it was using its Prostreet crumple points with the "Off" setting on, but I could get almost the same results with the 370Z .damage file with Undercover's 3 settings, and thus is why I fixed up the broken file for this one.
7. Dispatch police officers will now identify the car as a "Nissan".
8. Correctly reconfigured the 350Z frontend vehicle entry, originally, it was set as a "911turbo".
9.I managed to enable the leftover "NISSAN 350Z (Z33)" display name in the garage menu.

2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera:
1. Corrected custom Spoiler sizes available
2. Fixed ride height and GROUND_EFFECT values, before, this caused MAJOR ground scraping and was very prone to flying up in the air, making this car just about undrivable in its original state.
3. Corrected Y and W tyre/wheel value coordinates, they are a little out of place in the wheelwell normally but I used Prostreet's positions for some guidance.
4. All new tuning value entries and "ecar" settings have been added and was initially based off the Gallardo LP560-4's, but has been extensively changed to fix the aforementioned scraping issues. It is also now quicker and more nimble so it drives like a Superleggera should.
5. "Car Damage" can now be enabled correctly with Off, Low and High settings with a swapped .damage file from the Gallardo LP560-4, before, it was broken in the same way the 350Z's was.
6. Dispatch police officers will now identify the car as a "Lamborghini".

Bugs & Observations:
These are all GEOMETRY.BIN based problems and will require the car models to be recompiled, so these bugs still cannot be fixed at the time of this writing:
1. 350Z & Impreza need exhaust pipe parts added as well as NOS flame effects.
2. 350Z & Impreza also need stock spoiler paint and mirror paint enabled.
3.350Z didn't have headlight particles made during the original game development at all.
4. Gallardo Superleggera right NOS flame position needs correction (This problem is also present on the original car for Prostreet)
5. Gallardo Superleggera has misplaced headlight beam particles in mid-air. (I tried to make a temporary fix with VltEd by removing the headlight "car_parts", unfortunately that doesn't affect nor turn off the light beams.)

I hope it shows that I cared enough detailing everything, and all you Undercover fans appreciate driving these vehicles after the work done so far, so have fun! (:
