Need For Speed: World
Naturalistic Lighting v1.01
by TerraSphere_385

I highly discourage using the upvotes and downvotes for reviews. I would not know if there is actually a bug in the mod if you simply downvote the mod. I will immediately consider it you a bot. In which case, I cannot help you.

The downvote is a function frequently abused by trolls who have a personal vendetta against the website. They make user accounts to bombard the showroom/file with downvotes. Why they have such disdain for it is unclear, but they even go so far as to bombard downvotes to creations of notable modders who are making your NFS games better, for you and for everyone else.

I personally do not wish to see their creations be tarnished. I do not want this website go into ruin. A lot of people here have found their futures here, with some of the most legendary of modders already working in well-known companies. I have so much respect for their work.

Instead if you encounter a problem with the mod, kindly put it in the comments section below. Put in as much details as you can share about your problem so I can resolve it on my end. A patch will be uploaded immediately after the reported bug is fixed. Cheers in advance! :-)

If you like the mod or wish to support me, kindly hit the favorite button. Seeing your names under the favorite tab makes me feel your support on a deeper, personal level. It encourages me to keep up my work. Hopefully, with my mods, I hope to inspire more people to take up modding and develop their skills. I love you guys, God bless you and I hope you enjoy the entire community's mods. ^_^

I hope you like the mod. :-)

By the way, don't worry about any drops in performance. This lighting mod is FPS-friendly and is run using the game's engine, therefore you won't notice any performance differences compared to when you were not using this mod.

IF you can spare some processing power, there's some helpful links down below to improve the look of your game once you install the mod.

Reworked Lighting
Built-in Screen Filter Remover
Fix for Pink bloom on Red paint
Fixed Water Lighting

Sometimes the weather will "jump" to the next weather. This is a limitation of the game engine as it is not designed to smoothly transition to the next lighting set and cannot be fixed.
The sky may sometimes be brighter than the world. I've done my best to make sure the sky color matches what happens in real life but since the sky is still a texture and has existing colors on its own, the skies may be brighter than it is supposed to be at certain times.

Archive Extractor (WinRAR, preferrably)
NFS-VLTEd (Latest version)

If you don't have an archive browser, here's a download link:
If you haven't downloaded NFS-VLTEd, here's the download link:

There will be one file in the archive named "Naturalistic Lighting.nfsms". Extract this file wherever you want.

1. Open NFS World on your VLT-Ed.
2. On NFS-VLTEd, Click File > Import > ModScript and browse for the file you extracted. Select and install.
3. Once it is finished importing, on your NFS-VLTEd, click File > Save.

HOWEVER, if you want to make this work with Soapbox Race World, follow these instructions after installing the Lighting Mod.

1. Go to GLOBAL folder within your NFS World > DATA directory.
2. Select and copy the following files: Attributes.bin, Commerce.bin, FE_Attrib.bin.
3. Go back to your NFS:World > DATA directory.
4. Go to MODS > worldonline > GLOBAL folder. (Backup the files inside the folder)
5. Paste the files and replace.
6. Right-click on the pasted files and hit properties.
7. Once the Properties window opens, check Read-Only box.
8. Apply.

You may now play the game with the modded lighting.

If you're willing to go the extra mile and your system can handle it without melting, you may try these links to make the game look even better.

Watch this for Maximum Settings:

If you're not using NVidia, skip the video to 2:49.

I don't recommend using Ryu Makkuro's reshade as I haven't used it. You're free to try, but I don't recommend it as it might mess up my mod.

Instead, I recommend you to download this reshade mod. It does not change affect my mod in anyway other than make the textures look sharper:

Adobe Photoshop CS6 for tuning the colors
Microsoft Excel for helping me with color calculations
NFS-VltEd v4.6 by nfsu360

Wikipedia for accurate color temperatures for artistic colors
NFS Modding Community
Cascraft for his Sharpening Reshade
Ryu Makkuro for his awesome tutorial

Final Remarks:
You may now post my mods in other sites without my permission. However, kindly credit me for the work, no matter how miniscule this mod is. It helps a lot in maintaining the modding community's sense of camaraderie. Hopefully, with enough time and effort, more talented people will be inspired by the community to join us in modding NFS. More talented people means more mods. More mods means better mod quality and more fun time for all of us. And that talented person could be you.

To all the people who graduated from NFS modding, thank you for your hardwork. To all of you who are now working at game companies, congratulations! I'm really glad your time and skills were of value to your personal life. Your creations inspire us, even to this day.
